   Summary

   Almost a year after the crew leave Yorktown aboard the Enterprise, things have slowed down to a crawl in a particularly empty region of space. Given how close they had come to losing their beloved Captain, Leonard is concerned about Jim's well-being and enlists Spock's help to invent a diversion for him and the crew. At first, Leonard isn't so sure Spock's solution is going to help - especially as it causes Leonard to re-evaluate his feelings for his best friend. Finally, the discovery of a lonely, yet beautiful alien planet sets things in motion that will ultimately change their relationship forever.
