"Holy shit, It's THE Yusei Fudo."
That was not Yuya's thought.
It is Yugo's.
Yuya was casually walking through the City. Nothing out of the ordinary happened.
At least not as far as Yuya knows. The City is weird sometimes.
He does not know what prompted Yugo to shout something about this plain looking guy on a side walk.
Wait... Is that a criminal mark?
Isn't that something only people they bothered having an unfair and speedy "trail" for get?
Shit, that guy must be at least a bit important if they bothered to not directly throw him in jail.
That or he went to jail before Jean-Michel Roget became head of sector security.
Maybe the guy is not so plain after all.
"He is THE Yusei Fudo." Yugo tries to explain. "He did a whole lot of amazing things!"
"I don't get it." is the only thing Yuya could think back. "Then why have I never heard of him?"
"Because he stopped dueling professionally when he got a high up position in Kaiba Corp." Yugo answers. "We should get his autograph. He is a legend." Yugo goes again.
"More of a legend than Jack Atlas?"
"About the same"
Considering what a legend Jack Atlas is in the City, that is the highest legend status you can get. This Yusei guy seems to be an icon like Jack Atlas, but doesn't like the spotlight.
Yuya can't relate. The spotlight is the best part.
"So why didn't you ask for Jack's autograph?" Yuya prods.
"Never could, with Academia and stuff." Yugo answered.
"Oh"
"We should ask one of Jack too." Yugo added "And Crow as well".
"Crow, why?" Yuya asks. Don't tell me he is some kind of legend too.
"Takes to long to explain. Ask Yusei for an autograph. This is a rare chance. He is almost never in public."
"Ok" Yuya says.
"It is the least I can do." he thinks for himself.
Walking up to the legend is surprisingly easy.
"Excuse me. Are you Yusei Fudo?" Yugo is sure, but Yuya has never seen Yusei Fudo before so he wouldn't know.
"Yes. Yuya Sakaki?" comes the response Yuya somehow didn't anticipate. He had forgotten he was kind of famous in the City after winning the title of king in the friendship cup.
"Yeah, I was wondering. Could I have an autograph?"
Yusei smiles a bit before he answers. "Sure. Do you have something to sign?"
Yuya clumsily hands him the pen and notebook he carries just in case.
Time passes both to slow and too fast when the legend is scribbling something on the piece of paper.
When Yuya receives the autograph there is one issue though.
It is dedicated to Yuya the 'New King of Riding Duels'.
"Is something wrong?"
"The autograph is supposed to be for Yugo."
"I'll give him one too then. You two did well in the FC."
Somewhere in the back of Yuya's mind Yugo screams with joy.
