Anne’s Pranks

Summary:

Anne Boleyn feels in the right mood to both prank and mess with the other queens. It goes somewhat as planned.

Chapter 1: Catherine of Aragon

Chapter Text

The other queens didn't seem to mind at all whenever Anne Boleyn would do something silly or weird or even crazy in general. With most of those odd things ending up with nothing of the sort getting broken. There were some times where they just needed a good laugh whilst there were other times that they didn't and this was certainly one of those times. This was most definitely one of those times where Anne was acting sillier than she usually did. Or was she in a prankish kind of mood? It was often hard to tell.

Yeah, it was probably more or less a guess that Anne was in a prankish mood that day.

The aforementioned second of the queens crept her way upstairs, her mind set on messing with the others. A simple scare, she both knew and hoped, had to do the trick. She could scare and/or prank each of the other queens one at a time. One after the other. When they least expected it. After all, to Anne, all of this was going to be in good fun and she wasn't intending to hurt

It would most certainly make up for her accidentally pulling a prank on the other queens the previous week, one that had ultimately almost caused a concert venue they were performing at to burn down to the ground (it was mostly due to one of the light fixtures being knocked down, to be fair. So, it was only half her fault).

"Aragon, Jane, Anna, Howard, Parr? Who do I prank first?" Anne said quietly to herself as she stopped halfway up the stairs.

She stayed there for who knew how long, thinking quietly to herself for what seemed like a few moments. Then an idea came to Anne Boleyn's mind. Catherine of Aragon? Perfect. This would be her best idea yet. Once she finished up with her pranking Catherine of Aragon and the rest of the queens, that was.

Catherine of Aragon it was, then.

'First up: Catherine of Aragon,' Anne thought, slowly making her way over towards where the aforementioned queen probably was, which was most likely in her room.

And that's exactly where Catherine of Aragon was. Anne grew silent, slowing down her pace as she got a little closer to her fellow queen's room. She stayed just outside of it, waiting for the right moment. And she didn't even need to wait that long.

Catherine turned her head away from her bedroom door, giving Anne just enough time to quietly creep into the former's room. Anne then took the time to creep up behind the first queen, climbing up onto Catherine's bed and moving until she was directly behind her.

Wait for it, wait for it, Anne thought quietly to herself.

Catherine turned her attention back over towards her open bedroom door, giving Anne the perfect opportunity. Now!

"BOO!"

Catherine's eyes widened at the same time as Anne, still on Catherine of Aragon's bed, fell over onto her back and laughed quietly to herself.

"Gotcha!" Anne spouted out.

Catherine turned around completely, scooting off to the side as she focused her attention over towards Anne. The second queen had sat upright and had her hands resting in her lap as she grinned mischievously at Catherine.

"Anne, that was not funny." Catherine rolled her eyes, letting out a sigh.

"I thought it was. Otherwise I wouldn't have done it, would I?"

"Anne," Catherine started, but Anne wasn't listening.

Anne scooted closer to her. Though it was probably a little too close, heavily considering the fact that Catherine scooted back far enough to fall off of her bed and land on her back in the middle of her bedroom floor. Anne peered over the side of Catherine's bed and grinned down at her. Even more so than she had before.

Catherine grunted, an annoyed and deadpan look in her eyes. "Anne, could you please help me up?"

"No can do." Anne laughed. "I, for one, think it's way funnier that you're laying on your back in the middle of your bedroom floor with an annoyed look on your face. "And besides, I have more pranking to do."

"Your pranking can wait, you know. Just help me up first."

Anne Boleyn thought to herself for a brief few moments, then looked down at Catherine. "Of course."

"Thank you..." Catherine mumbled, not really knowing what Anne was intending to do.

Anne reached a hand down to help Catherine up, or, unbeknownst to Catherine, she only pretended to do so. Anne chuckled softly to herself as she, instead of helping Catherine up from the latter's bedroom floor like she'd promised, tapped Catherine lightly on the latter's forehead.

"GOTCHA TWICE!" Anne shouted, falling over onto her back on Catherine of Aragon's bed and laughing

"Anne..." Catherine grumbled under her breath, still laying on her back on the floor.  "Just help me up off the floor..."

"I would, but...." Anne moved her position so that she was now hanging upside down and off of the end of Catherine of Aragon's bed, grinning cheekily at the annoyed looking Catherine of Aragon. "Maybe I don't want to. Maybe I'm more or less in the mood to prank the other four queens. None of them will be expecting it, I'm sure of it."

"If by prank, you mean scare?" Catherine grunted out in response, managing to sit upright and then stand up.

"No." Anne moved again, this time sat on top of Catherine’s bed and still grinning at her. “I mean prank.”

“Your ideas of pranks are weird, Anne,” Catherine commented.

“Weird?” Anne cocked her head to the side. “Would you consider me throwing a lamp at Katherine Howard weird?”

“You nearly injured her, and, besides, that’s not a prank. That’s just throwing something.”

“I… thought it was funny at the time?”

Catherine of Aragon rolled her eyes in response, then refocused her attention over towards Anne Boleyn. “Anne, you broke the lamp.”

“I still bought a replacement, didn’t I?”

“No, I went out and bought a replacement lamp after Kath came upstairs and told me what happened,” Catherine replied, not really knowing that Anne was joking around.

“And?” Anne looked off to the side, giggling quietly and softly to herself before looking back at Catherine. “We now have two brand new lamps sitting side by side on top of one of the cabinets in the living room.”

“Wait? We do not have two lamps- ANNE!”

Anne giggled again, reaching out a hand and booping Catherine. “Gotcha again!”

Catherine opened her mouth to respond, but then closed it again as Anne climbed off the former’s bed and made her way over to the bedroom door, mentioning something about going and pranking Jane good as she exited the bedroom and turned the corner, of course making her way towards Jane’s room.

‘Typical Anne,’ Catherine thought out loud, rolling her eyes and shaking her head.
