Work Text:
Six months since the death of Dooku, three months since the the death of Grievous, and one month since the death of Palpatine. And one month since the he last saw his omega awake.
It felt even longer. His omega lay on the hospital bed in the Jedi Temple's medical wing, hooked up to many machines keeping him alive. He never knew what his omega when through when he laid in the same spot as he recovered from his injury after he got shot in the back of the head. But now as he watch over Mace lying unconscious looking fragile in his hospital bed, he could understand.
Mace and so many other nearly lost their lives taking down the Sith Lord. He didn't know how the fight when down but he knew they didn't expect to survive. Five Jedi masters and one Jedi knight entered they office alive and and five jedi master and one jedi knight left, alive but gravely injured.
Now he sat by his mate's side for hours on end, only leaving to use the bathroom or get food. He knew his brothers were doing the same. They had gotten to the point where the healers had put cots down in the private rooms the comatose Jedi laid in.
Signing he clasped Mace's hand in his own. The IV giving the Jedi fluids hard and cold in his palm. Rex had brought him is some soup a while ago before returning to his own omega's room with the rest of Skywalker's family. It had got cold before he ate it. It didn't really matter, he still ate it, never waste perfectly good food. A healer came in to change the bags feeding his comatose lover and the IV. And check Mace's vitals. He asked the same question he asked everyday since the beginning, "will he wake up soon", to which he gone the same answer he did everyday, "We don't know" and "all we can do it wait and see".
And wait he would. Ponds would wait right by his side everyday, till he awoke. And when Mace did awake, Ponds would be right there, ready to see his precious omega.
