Work Text:
He didn't mind the biting if he were to be honest—he didn't mind any of it. Hadn't minded even as her fangs hand scraped against the inside of his thigh or plunged into it and drew blood. He hissed out a breath, fingers brushing back the tight curls that framed her face. Golden eyes peered up at him as her fangs retracted, her tongue lolling out to catch the drop of blood that had escaped and soothed her tongue over the mark she created. When she was satisfied, she rose onto his lap and kissed him, the taste of metal coating his tongue as her arms looped around his neck. Her nails lightly scratched at his nape in a soothing motion—something he found he enjoyed and almost found himself purring at the contact.
Xander had broken the kiss when his lungs burned for air and pressed his forehead against hers. Intimacy wasn't that much of a problem for him as it had been before. It almost came easy, naturally, and he didn't hesitate much when he initiated it.
The bond between them tightened, taut at first but stronger the closer they were together. He didn't quite understand that, no matter how hard Nora had tried to explain mates and the bonds that come with them.
"Something wrong?" She asked, soft voice bringing him out of his thoughts.
He shook his head, hands taking hold of her thighs that framed his hips and adjusted them to lay back onto the bed, "I feel light."
"Did I take too much?" Her worried tone wavered, "I'm sorry I—"
"—didn't do anything."
"Oh." She lands next to him, one leg arched up over his and slides her foot under his leg, and lays her head against his shoulder, taking his hand and threading their fingers together, "Light how?"
"You make me feel like this," he raises their linked hands to his mouth, kissing each of her knuckles, "Like nothing can bother me."
"I do have that effect, don't I?" He gives her a look, "What?" Rolling his eyes, he turns on his side, laying half of his body on top of hers. Nora grunts underneath him, glaring at the arm that was tossed haphazardly across her midsection, and lightly jabs his shoulder, "You're heavy."
"Sorry," he angles more of his body on top, weaving his legs with hers. "Better?" He asks with a playful gleam in his eyes.
"Xander?"
"Yes?"
She brings her face close to his and whispers, "Get off me."
"No."
"Please?"
His only answer was a grunt that sounded like a no and tugged her closer to him, face buried in the bush atop her head.
Nora had fallen asleep in his arms as soon as he pulled her to him. A furnace with a pillow was what she called him after waking up with a dreamy smile on her lips. He looks down at the woman who slept on top of him with a frown, sheets were practically thrown off the bed because she had gotten too hot at one point in the night (or day) and muttered something about kicking a demon in the balls and had kicked them off the bed in her sleep.
If you asked him, he would deny it right from the start, but he laughed—more like snorted—for what felt like the first time in forever. Nora had stirred at his outburst, but didn't wake, thankfully. She probably would've gotten giddy like she had when he gave a real genuine smile after she repaired the broken frame of his shades.
"I can feel your thoughts," she says groggily without looking at him. "They're racing."
"Whatever shall I do?" He asks, rolling them to lay on their sides. She peels open an eye, watching him as he traced onto her wrist, "I can feel yours."
"All the good ones I hope." A wave of contentment was sent towards him and she gave a tiny smile and stretched, "I think I heard you laugh."
"Did not." He denied, fingers stilling on her wrist.
He glares at her, silver eyes meaning to be irritated, but his lips twitched upward and her nose brushes against his, "Aw, don't get pouty on me snookums. I heard you in my sleep and it sounded beautiful."
"I am not 'beautiful'."
"You're right. Words can't even begin to describe the way you look... or sound." There was a slight twisting in his chest and stomach—he figured it be adoration or something that had to do with the bond they shared. Or maybe...
Maybe...
