   Summary

   It was the year 2157, and humanity had touched the stars at last. Gazing up into the dark abyss, it was hard to believe there may be life on other planets. Intelligent life, capable of building great cities and spaces. Those that knew her, knew that Amelia Karsten-Shepard was one such idealist.

   When humanity does make contact with another species, the incident is bloody and brutal, and Amelia is ripped from her familiar normal into an alien cell as a prisoner of war, faced with an enemy that looks, thinks, and feels nothing like her.
