Chapter Text
Izuku and the rest of class 1-A were waiting for a combat exercise to start when suddenly the screen in front of them glitched for a moment, Nezu’s face showing up on the screen.
Except it wasn’t exactly Nezu. Instead of the white fur and black eyes that most of 1-A had gotten used to, pitch-black fur and milky white eyes looked down at them.
“Ah! Wonderful! It worked! N-Prime, are you there?”
The screen glitched again, and Izuku was shocked to see their own Nezu smiling widely, teeth bared. “Yes, N-0235, I am here. Has your timeline’s framework finally synced up to ours?”
The black Nezu on-screen grinned, nodding. “Yes, it has! To the millisecond. Truly, the stabilisation array you helped design is marvellous!”
Their Nezu chuckled, waving a paw at the other Nezu. “Aw shucks, you flatter me so. Why don’t you open the portal and we can begin today’s exercise!”
The black Nezu nodded and he disappeared from the screen, leaving the entirety of 1-A, as well as Aizawa and Yagi, speechless. After a moment, Kaminari was the first to speak. “Ok, either I shorted myself out again, or I had a stroke. Please tell me everyone else saw that.”
As everyone nodded silently, still a bit shocked, there was a flash of bright green light in front of them, as a green circle of energy appeared. He saw Mr Aizawa instantly drop into a combat stance as the man jumped in front of the class.
“No need for that, Aizawa! I can assure you that these are not villains!”
Nezu appeared on the field next to the class through another, smaller green circle. He hopped up onto Aizawa’s shoulder, snuggling into the man’s scarf as he waved at 1-A. “These are your guest classmates for the day!”
As soon as Nezu finished speaking, people started appearing out of what was apparently a portal. Izuku hummed as he looked over them. Were they… themselves? Wait, no, the colours were all wrong.
Nezu spoke up again. “Please welcome UA Hero Course 1-A from Universe 0235! Today, you will be sparring against your counterpart from this reality!”
Izuku and the rest of the class stared at Nezu until finally, it was Kachaan that broke the silence.
“Ex-fucking-Scuse me?!?!?!”
Izuku sat across from… himself? It was weird seeing someone who was you but apparently had a ‘flipped’ quirk.
He still couldn’t figure out how Super-strength and Black tentacle thingy’s were the ‘flipped’ to his own ‘Firebending’, but he trusted Nezu enough to roll with it anyway.
Sticking his hand out for the other him to shake, he grinned. “Hey there, the names Izuku Midoriya. Guess you already knew that, though!”
The other him reached out slowly to shook his hand, and Izuku let out a yelp as black tentacles wrapped around the hands, giving a small squeeze before retracting into the other his arm.
As Izuku slowly looked up from his hand to the other him, he started chuckling, quickly devolving into laughing his ass off, while the other him proceeded to stick his hand under his armpit and blush up a storm.
“Oh my- oh my god. Dude. That was hilarious. Does it do that often? I’m interested to know how your strength and tentacles and stuff is the ‘flipped version of my Quirk.”
The other him froze, his mouth opening and shutting as his fingers twitched. Izuku scrunched up his eyebrows. “You... don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to? You seem pretty shaken up about it.”
The other him relaxed a little, smiling. “Sorry, I haven’t… had my quirk for very long, it’s still weird to have that question directed towards me.”
Izuku raised his eyebrow, his eyes widening. “Wait, what do you mean by that? How long ago did you manifest it? Wait! Did you get it from… ya know… All for One?”
He must have said something wrong because the second his mentor’s name left his mouth, the other him had him pinned to the ground, body sparking with green lighting, and had the black tentacles wrapped around his hands.
“How do you know that name.”
Izuku struggled against him a little, before huffing. He took a deep breath and released it, sending fire blasting out of his mouth, pushing the both of them up from the ground. Once he was standing again, he rolled his shoulders.
He shook his head, wondering for a moment if that absolutely feral look on the other his face was just his imagination, but as he turned back to look at the other him, he could see the focus and willingness to throw down in his eyes.
“Jesus, man. Chill out. All for One, the greatest hero ever? Can give and take Quirks? Big buff hero with a V made out of his hair? Look, your version is right over there. Well, he’s pretty thin and sickly in this reality but the hair is unmistakable.”
The other him looked away for a moment and yelled out. “Uh… All Might! I think we need to talk with him… me for a moment! Could you please come here?”
Izuku looked back and forth between the other him and the alternate All for One.
Why did he feel like he just stumbled onto another life-changing secret?
“So… you make things heavier?”
Ochako smiled at the alternate her, clapping her hands together. “Yep! As soon as I make skin contact with anything, I can make it feel up to 10x the normal amount of gravity! But I usually stick to around 1.5x to 2x on people, higher than that is bad for the body.”
The other her grinned back. “That’s really cool! I have to get all 5 of these pads on my fingers onto something, and I can remove the effect of gravity from things! I can even use it on myself to float around and stuff!”
Ochako’s eyes widened as she hopped up and down. “Oh my god, you can fly?! That’s amazing! Can I try? Wait, let me go grab Izu, he’ll love this!”
She turned to see that Izu was currently talking to the alternate Izuku and a tall, sickly man who seemed absurdly familiar to Ochako. She waved over to him, and he smiled at her, but shook his head, motioning to the two people in front of him.
Pouting, Ochako turned back to her other-self. “Damn, seems like Izu’s stuck with his double! Shame, he’d love to see your Quirk in action.”
The other her smiled as well, blushing a little. “I, uh, guess Deku and All Might are talking about something important with him? They do that a lot. I don’t think they know that we noticed he’s All Might’s favourite. Guess it makes sense with his Quirk but…”
Ochako nodded. “I’m assuming All Might is important to you? We have the same thing, sorta. All for One works at our school and seems has taken a liking to Izu, but he couldn’t come today.”
She noticed that the other her flinched, but brushed it off. “Anyway, since we have some time before we gotta fight, let’s compare notes, friendship style! Who’s your best friend? Mines Izu, but like, that’s pretty obvious”
The other her blushed, scratching at the back of her head and waving her other hand around. “Uh, I’d say that Deku’s my best friend as well, but Iida is a close second. Wait, why would it be obvious that Deku is yours?”
Ochako grinned, a small blush forming on her face as her index fingers tapped together.. “Well, uh… I mean, you know... they say that your boyfriend should be your best friend as well, right?”
Shoto glanced over to the pair of Ochakos as the one from this universe squealed, suddenly floating into the air.
He and his other self were sitting cross-legged across from each other, and they had been silent so far. But even without words, it was fairly obvious how the other Shoto’s quirk varied from his.
While his left side was his father’s ice, the Shoto from this reality had his fire on the left. It felt odd, looking at him, as it was like a mirror image of himself, except for the scar, which was on the same side for both of them.
Checking his watch, Shoto saw that there were still 10 minutes left before the fights began. He wasn’t the most sociable person, he knew, but did they really need 15 minutes to get to know someone who was essentially themselves?
Hmm, Izuku was chatting with himself, as was Iida, Ochako, and even Bakugou seemed to be interacting with their other selves. Should he…
“Shoto.”
The other him looked up, his head quirking to the side. “Yes, Shoto?”
Shoto hummed.
“I believe that we should make attempts to socialize. Would you like me to show you some humorous short videos about cats? I’m quite fond of them myself.”
He noticed something glow in his counterparts eyes at that, a soft smile appearing on the other him’s face.
“Yes, please. I have a few saved myself that I think you might like.”
Toshinori sighed as he and Izuku listened to the boy’s alternate self.
Placing his hand on Izuku shoulder, he looked over to the boy who was so much like his successor, well, who technically was his successor. In a way… god this was confusing. “I’m sorry, young Midoirya, but All for One is… a threat in this world. I hope you can understand why Izuku here would react the way he did.”
And then he saw something he never had before. The other Midoriya looked in between the two of them, grinned, and then shrugged. “Eh, it’s fine. Surprised me with the tentacle stuff, but honestly, it wasn’t too dissimilar to this one villain I fought during my work-study.”
How weird it was, to see his successors face make such a nonchalant expression.
“I’m really really really sorry, I just… I heard the name and I panicked and I’m sorry for using Blackwhip on you and I-”
The other Midoriya held his hand up and placed it over Izuku’s mouth, silencing his successor. “Dude, it’s OK. you didn’t hurt me, so we’re cool. That alright with you?”
Toshinori ruffled Izuku’s hair after the boy nodded, smiling. “Alright, you too. You’ve only got around a minute now before the sparring starts. You both ready?”
And when both of the boys turned to him at the same time, with the same determined smile on their face, and clenched their fists in front of them at the same time, Toshinori couldn’t stop himself from laughing his ass off.
Tsuyu looked down at the alternate version of herself, focusing on the little bit of tongue sticking out of her mouth.
“Ssso. You’re a frog?”
“Yes, and you’re a… snake? Naga? My friend Habuko would love to see you, I reckon, ribbit.”
Tsuyu hummed, tapping her finger to her chin. While her counterpart was a frog-human mutant, she was a snake-human mutant. Instead of legs, she had a long snake tail, and the fangs in her mouth were capable of releasing a wide variety of toxins.
“I think calling me a Naga ssshould sssufice. And likewise. It ssseems that ourselves and Habuko ssseem to have ssswapped”
The other Tsuyu looked up at her with a raised eyebrow. “Did you just choose words that specifically started with S so you could hiss?”
She shot the small Tsuyu a glare. “Do you have to ribbit at the end of every sssentence?”
“Touche, ribbit.”
“Ssso what’s being a frog-girl like? Can you taste thingsss with your tongue out? I can use my tongue to track ssscents, kinda. Ssstill working on that.”
Frog Tsuyu shook her head. “Nope, ribbit. When my tongue is being extended, I can kinda choose whether or not I taste things. But it can still feel pain and stuff when it is out. Got cut by someone once and I spoke with a lisp for a few days.”
Tsuyu nodded, frowning. “Yea, I got a giant gash down my tail during our summer camp, and it made moving absurdly difficult.
Frog Tsuyu tapped her finger to her chin, seemingly thinking for a moment. “Himiko Toga?”
Letting out a sigh, Tsuyu nodded. “Himiko Toga.”
“She’s crazy, ribbit.”
“Preasing to the choir, sssister.”
“Ah! Your Quirk is like my older brothers!”
“Ah! Your Quirk is like my older brothers!”
Tenya froze as he and his alternate self said that exact same thing, in complete sync, their hands having chopped down right next to each other. Smothering a chuckle, he grabbed the other hand and shook it firmly.
Up, down, squeeze, release. The perfect introductory handshake for any situation.
His smile grew as his alternate self went through the exact same motions, albeit the squeeze was a little weaker. Having engines in your arms did make his baseline arm strength higher than most others could achieve.
“It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to spar with you! If our experiences are similar, even accounting for our differences in Quirks, then it would almost be like sparring against Tensei when he was in school!”
Tenya nodded. “You are absolutely correct! While it is unfortunate that Tensei isn’t able to spar nowadays, I am glad to have this opportunity as well!”
His alternate self was about to say something when they both heard a group of people to their side. Both of them turned in sync to see both Mina’s on both of the Denki’s shoulders, looking as if they were in the middle of a piggyback fight.
All four of them groaned at the same time, fear in their eyes as they watched the Iida’s interact. “Oh god, there’s two of them!”
“Ashido! Kaminari! What in gods name do you think you’re doing?!”
“Ashido! Kaminari! What in gods name do you think you’re doing?!”
Aizawa had had enough.
Emi and Ryuko kept telling him to practise more self-care when he came home from patrol stupidly late at night, and stopping the clock early was his way of doing so. “Alright! Everyone back to the viewing area, we’re starting the spars!”
He moved up to the control table and turned the cameras on for the areas they were going to be sparring in. Once everyone had arrived back, he spoke. “Alright, sit on either side of me, my realities kids on my left, the others on the right.”
He sighed when Denki stuck his hand in the air. “How will we know if people are on the right side?”
Aizawa glared at the boy. “Did you walk through a portal at all today?”
Denki shook his head. “No sir.”
“Then sit on my left.”
Shaking his head, Aizawa picked up his list of students. “We will be going down the list based on your student number. That means first up will be Aoyama. Both of you head to Combat Area A, now.”
As he watched the two Aoyama’s wink at each other, sparkling, Aizawa sighed.
God, this was going to be a long day, wasn’t it?
Art!
This one is one I drew myself:

If you liked this, check out my other fics and one-shots on my profile!
This will probably be only like 3 chapters long, and mainly focused around the Dekusquad fighting their alternate selves, so I'll most likely be skipping most of the other fights. Except for Momo, cause flipped Momo is badass and I can't wait to tell you her Quirk.

Chapter Text
A beam of light from one stomach, and a wall of shadows from the other chest.
A full 10 minutes of fighting had occurred beforehand, but as much as the light tried to pierce the darkness, the wall held, before both light and dark faded as their wielders collapsed to their knees
Aizawa shut the screen off right before both Aoyama’s threw up.
As he did, Nezu appeared on the screen, smiling. “I can’t say I didn’t expect this, but I didn’t think it would come up this early. Just for all of you sitting here thinking that this is some huge test to determine your place in the school or something, it’s not, just some sparring.”
He chuckled as he saw Aizawa glaring at the two Midoriya’s on the field, and continued. “While I will never tell you to do anything other than your best in all exercises, ‘your best’ stops before you start causing injury to yourself.”
The rest of the class glanced at Midoriya as well, causing the one from Aizawa’s universe to blush and cover up his face, while the other one looked confused as to why everyone was looking at them.
Aizawa grumbled as Nezu disappeared again. “Alright, while the robots grab the Aoyama’s, can the Ashido’s please make their way to Combat Arena B?”
He turned back away from the class and set up the next set of cameras as both girls squealed as they jumped to their feet, skipping off to the arena with their arms linked.
“Acid shot!”
“Base Blocker!”
Both of the classes watched, incredibly bored, as the two Mina’s fought each other with what seemed to be identical Quirks. After a while, One of the Kirishima’s put his hand up.
“Sir? I thought our alternate selves were supposed to have like, the opposite of our Quirks? Isn’t that what Principal Nezu said?”
Aizawa nodded. “Yes, Kirishima. While our Ashido can create Acids of a variable stickiness and acidity the alternate Ashido can do the same, just with... Bases. It’s a minor difference in my opinion, but I doubt Nezu would say the same.”
“Alright, now that backup uniforms for the Ashido’s have been found, I will turn the cameras back on so that the Asui’s can fight, in Combat Arena C this time.”
As both of the Asui’s headed off towards their arena, Aizawa continued. “While I’m on the subject, please do your best to not cause what would normally be thousands of dollars worth in property damage while sparring each other. Honestly, Cementoss deserves a raise.”
“Izu! Tsuyu gets to fight next! You excited?”
Izuku yelped as he heard Oc-Uraraka’s voice nearby, and had to stamp down the sudden thrashing feeling Blackwhip was giving him from how close it sounded. Turning his head, he saw that it was the alternate Uraraka talking to his other self.
The other him smiled and nodded, before opening his arms. Izuku was confused for a moment, but his confused look quickly changed to him blushing as the alternate Uraraka sat down in the other him’s lap, lifting her arms so that the other Izuku could hug her.
“Yea! I’m excited to see it! It will be interesting to see how their Quirks interact! I have a few theories, but to get to see something like this… it’s an amazing opportunity! I’ll be thanking Principal Nezu for it after we get hom- are you alright?”
It took Izuku’s brain a moment to catch up to the fact that the other Izuku was talking to him , but when it did, all he could release was a squeak as he vaguely motioned towards the two cuddling.
The other two looked at him for a moment before the alternate Uraraka laughed. “Oh! Right! Izu, these versions of us aren’t together. He’s probably just embarrassed!”
Izuku nodded and went to cover his face in his hands when he saw that his universe’s Uraraka already had, and was floating into the air. On instinct, he sent out a single strand of Blackwhip and dragged her down slowly, the girl letting out a squeak herself as she reached the floor.
As soon as Uraraka was safely on the ground, Blackwhip shot back into his body. “Sorry! I just- I didn’t want you to fly off- sorry!”
Izuku blocked out the alternate versions of themselves laughing their asses off as his version of Uraraka waved her hands in front of her. “No no! Don’t worry about it Deku! It’s fine! I just… seeing ourselves doing what they are surprised me!”
Izuku nodded, his blush still on his face as a shy smile showed up on his face. “Yeah, it’s a bit weird…”
Uraraka’s head flipped up to his. “Not that it’s a bad thing or anything! It’s cool to see! I mean- I uh, its good to see you two together! Wait, no, I mean- ah! I’m leaving now!”
Izuku was frozen there as Uraraka jumped to her feet and ran off to go hide behind Yaomomo’s giant cape, and his alternate self stopped laughing long enough to let the other Uraraka stand up and follow her.
After he did so, he turned to Izuku with a smirk on his face. “Alright bud, you seem a bit more… emotionally stunted than I am, so here’s some advice. That feeling in your chest when you think about spending time with Ochako? That’s a good thing.”
The other him chuckled as he spluttered and scratched the back of his head. “And like, seriously. Even you can’t be dense enough to miss what that whole thing was from her, right?”
Izuku stopped sputtering, and a confused look came to him. The other he just looked at him like he was an idiot. “Seriously dude? It’s obvious to me, and probably everyone else, too.”
Shaking his head, the other Izuku sighed. “She’s jealous, man. Jealous of me and Chako. Says good things for your chances with her, if you ask me.”
As the Izuku’s talked, the class watched the two Tsuyu’s just kind of stare at each other, both of them tensed up to jump at a moments notice.
“Uh, Mr Aizawa? Why aren’t either of them moving?”
Aizawa was halfway through explaining that he didn’t know when both of the Koda’s unexpectedly put their hands up. Aizawa nodded at the boy and translated the two boy’s sign language. “Koda says that frogs and snakes have a weird relationship in nature.”
“Usually predators, in this case, the snake, would attack first, but because they can’t change directions after they shoot, wait no, strike, the frog is usually able to dodge. But the frog can’t jump away first either, because the snake can then intercept them with an attack.”
As Aizawa finished explaining, both classes clapped, causing both of the Koda’s to blush heavily and sit back down, a flock of pigeons flying down and sitting on the top of their heads and shoulders to block line of sight.
Mina raised her hand. “So… are they going to move like... at all?”
One of the Koda’s raised their hand so Aizawa could see it and the man sighed. “Koda says that it’s unlikely. I’m bringing them back.”
He tapped on the button for the mic and the of him coughing startled both Tsu’s, sending both of them leaping backwards. “Alright, you two, if you’re not going to actually fight, come on back.”
Both of the girls on screen dropped their shoulders a bit, which was usually the only way of telling that Tsu was embarrassed, except this time they had a birds-eye-view.
“Oh my god, Tsu wags her snake tail when she’s embarrassed! That’s adorable!”
“Alright, Ochako. Lay it on me.”
Ochako yelped as her alternate self pulled up Yaomomo’s cape and sat down under it beside her, feeling Yaomomo chuckle as she felt the new person. The alternate her laughed as well.
“Thanks, Yaomomo. Do you mind just trying to ignore us? I think this might be stuff you already know, but like, my other self is pretty embarrassed right now.”
The chuckling stopped for a moment. “Of course, Uraraka. And yes, I think I do know what this is about, so I’ll make sure no one else listens in either.”
Ochako pulled her knees to her face as the alternate self patted Yaomomo’s thigh. The other her sat down next to her and crossed their legs. “Alright. Now that Yaomomo’s onboard, spill.”
Ochako blushed as she went to cover her face with her hands, but her other self grabbed her wrists. “No floating off now, it’s better if you at least say it out loud. And you know you can trust me, I had to go through the same thing for a while so I get it.”
Ochako felt her face get even warmer as the other her stared into her eyes. Her mouth opened and she was pretty sure she said something , but the other her just laughed.
The other Ochako placed her hand on Ochako’s shoulder. “Cmon quit babbling! It’s ok! I’m you, remember? I know exactly what your about to say, ‘cause I had to say it too.”
Ochako didn’t know why, but the steady hand on her shoulder and the sudden increase of weight helped ground her at the moment, and before she even knew it, words tumbled out of her mouth, quiet enough that the other her could only just hear it.
“I’m in love with Deku.”
She looked back up to see the other her smiling brightly, a glint in her eye. “Great work. Admitting it is the first step you know! That’s what Mina says at least.”
The other her clapped her hands, and Ochako felt the increased gravity dissipate. “Anyway, now that that’s done, we’re onto step 2, figuring out when to confess!”
Chapter Text
“GET BACK HERE, YOU FUCKER!”
“FUCK NO! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!”
Izuku didn’t know what to think as he watched Kachaan versus Alternate Kachaan. With Kachaan’s Quirk allowing him to create implosions just above his skin, an explosion-type Quirk had been his first guess for the alternate to have, but this was…
Alternate Kachaan was intense.
He watched as Kachaan pulled himself around the arena at top speed using “Continuous Implosions - Whiplash” to drag himself along while Alternate Kachaan was right on his tail the whole time, the viewing cameras lit up with the light of dozens of explosions as Alternate Kachaan just didn’t let up at all.
It was impressive, to say the least. Kachaan was one of the fastest in their year due to his Implosion Quirk and was capable of hitting incredibly hard by creating an implosion between his fists and target to drag them together. He was without a doubt one of the strongest students in their class due to his unpredictable movement and incredible strength, but…
No part of his Quirk, something Kachaan had been proud of his whole life, and none of the technical skill that Izuku admired so much from the boy… None of it seemed to matter in the face of the Alternate Kachaan’s raw, unadulterated power .
Izuku felt a bit bad at seeing his childhood friend get absolutely dogwalked by his alternate self, ending up being slammed into one of the walls in the arena by an explosion many times the size of the rest after mistiming a dodge.
He could already imagine the sparring that Kachaan was going to demand from him to help get rid of the frustration from losing so absolutely.
Still, the fight -while short- was a fun distraction from the intense muttering that came from beside him. His other self looked like he was currently going through all possible systems of overthinking at once with a little bit of a panic attack sprinkled on top.
It was… A little worrying, to be honest. And maybe a little disappointing. He’d kinda been hoping to have some epic Fire vs Water Bending duel with his alternate self as they traded quips and barbs…
Instead, he got an anxiety-ridden weirdo who had lightning powers and tentacles, sorry ‘Blackwhips’ and seemed to have a reputation for hurting himself with his Quirk. What the hell could have happened to him to make him end up like this?
Izuku refused to believe that this was only because of a difference in Quirk, even if that was the running theme for everyone else.
“Are you alright, dude?”
“Gah! Sorry! I mutter a lot, sorry for creeping you out.”
Izuku glanced around as he saw a couple of the students from the Alternate universe laughing softly at the apology and narrowed his eyes… But it seemed like they were laughing in good faith, not actually making fun of his alternate self but in more of a ‘there goes Izuku’ kind of way.
Or at least that’s the way it seemed.
He smiled at his alternate self and shrugged. “It’s no big deal, and you didn’t creep me out. I was just… Dude, you are taking this revelation hard . It spooked me when Ochako asked me out, too, but I was nowhere near as bad as this.”
He has his alternate self’s eyes widen at that, and in a small voice that he could barely hear, said. “Wait, Ochako asked you out?!”
Izuku smiled a little at that, ignoring the teeny tiny spike of feeling insulted at his alternate self's surprise at that fact. “Yeah, it was just after the sports festival. We went out to the mall and had lunch, and we both decided that we really liked each other and then… Well, that’s history, I guess.”
Alternate Izuku just nodded at this, his face still bright red. Izuku let out a sigh as he scooted closer, whispering into his alternate self’s ear. “You do like her in this world too, right? Or are we making uncomfortable by pushing for this?”
If it was the latter, he was prepared to pull his Ochako out of the conversation she was having with the alternate Ochako before any more damage could be done, but if it was the Former…
Izuku felt himself starting to smile as Alternate Izuku nodded… Only to frown again as he heard the boy speak softly. “Yeah… But she’s way out of my league. There's no way any girl likes me like that, let alone Uraraka.”
That was the final straw for Izuku and alarm bells started ringing in his head. His alternate self was awkward, quiet, and seemed to have some kind of self-worth issues… Izuku couldn’t help but swear in his head as he reached out and patted his alternate self on the shoulder.
Seemed like it was more than just a difference in Quirks. His alternate self seemed like he hadn’t had the best life… And it had left him with some serious issues.
“I don’t believe you, but I doubt you’d believe me , either. Anyway, let's wait for the Ochakos to be done before we start deciding how other people feel about you, alright?”
His alternate self nodded and Izuku just sighed, knowing that the other Izuku was still feeling shitty about it. He was really hoping that this universe’s Ochako actually did have a thing for his alternate self now if only to not shatter the dude if it turned out to not happen after he’d put this much time talking it up.
He gulped, glancing over at the cape that the two Ochakos were sitting under, his fingers crossing by his leg.
Hagakure vs Hagakure ended up being more boring than most of them.
Invisibility vs Truesight meant that both of them could see each other fine, and while it was kinda funny to see Alternate Hagakure covering up her costumeless body when she realised that, it still ended up being a hand-to-hand contest… Something that neither girl was particularly skilled with, both preferring stealth.
It quickly devolved into a brutal brawl on the ground as both Hagakures tried to pin the other down… Succeeding more in covering each other in dust and dirt than anything else.
Everyone still congratulated the both of them after the match, however. Truesight Hagakure ended up winning the fight purely because she was more used to people being able to see her movements, and therefore wasn’t thrown off as much when they started to fight.
They both limped their way back into the resting area, chatting happily with each other… Even as they winced at the way their bruises ached, Truesight Hagakure even sporting a busted lip.
Maybe it was only because the other one was invisible, but it was funny to see only one of the fighters all banged up after a brawl like that.
“Let us have a good, fair match!”
“Indeed! A match that lives up to the honour and conduct expected of Ingenium!”
Izuku couldn’t help but chuckle softly as the two Iidas started Iida-ing, their hands both waving at the same time, albeit in a mirrored fashion. That was kinda interesting, that even their movements were mirrored, but… It didn’t track with everyone else, so it was probably just an Iida thing.
Their fight was quick . Izuku had never been the fastest in his class, even after he studied under Todoroki’s mum during his Internship. She had helped him discover “PulseJet” -a move where he shot fire from his feet in a condensed state to propel himself at speed- and that made it hard to keep up with the movements of the two Iidas…
Unfortunately for his universe’s team, the Alternate Iida -who had engines in his legs instead of his arms, like Iida’s older brother Tensei- ended up being faster, eventually outspeeding his universe’s Iida enough to get a solid hit to the helmet with his armoured shin, taking their Iida out of the fight.
He left his alternate self to mutter to himself as he went and checked on Iida as the droids brought them back for a moment, but after seeing he was fully unconscious, he didn’t get in the way of the robots as they took Iida to the infirmary.
After the Iida’s fight came the Kyouka’s.
With one's ability to create soundwaves from the lobes on her ears, and the other's ability to create an area of total silence stomping on the ground with her feet… It ended up as a brawl, again , as their Quirks countered each other perfectly.
Izuku was a bit ashamed to admit that he didn’t really pay attention to her fight as much, being much more interested in seeing Quirks in action than the amateur hand-to-hand that most of their class exhibited…
Maybe that was something this exercise was trying to teach them! Something about how there were plenty of counters for them, so they shouldn’t rely on their Quirks too much. That did make sense, and it wasn’t something that was really drilled into their heads by Mr Aizawa and his Quirk-boosting Quirk.
The two Kyoukas seemed much less beat up than the Hagakures did at the end of their fight, and both of them attributed it to a minor amount of Shock Resistance they each had, stemming from using vibrations to fight, and cancelling vibrations respectively.
That little nugget of information was something Izuku hadn’t known before and was probably the most interesting part of their fight! He paused after thinking that, frowning slightly. That felt mean. Hmm, he’d apologise to Kyouka for that later.
Kaminari’s fight was -visually- probably the coolest one yet!
Izuku’s eyes tracked the two fighters as lightning zapped every surface surrounding them. Alternate Kaminari was generating electricity like a field around his body, surrounding himself and making it hard for Kaminari to get close, even in his Lightning Form.
It was interesting that both of them had Quirks based around Electricity, but he guessed that generating electricity from the body and having the body turn into electricity could be considered opposites.
Honestly, it was hard to get a good idea of what a direct ‘opposite’ of most of the Quirks that didn’t deal with some of the more complicated Quirks that their class had, and it made him wonder what the opposite of something like Thirteens Quirk, Repulsion Field.
Their fight didn’t last much longer, unfortunately, with his universes Kaminari quickly showcasing his immunity to electricity by way of becoming it clearly surprising the alternate Kaminari, who had a dumb look on his face as he stuck two thumbs up out in front of himself over and over again.
His attention was stolen from the end of their fight as he spotted the two Ochakos exiting the safety of alternate Momo’s large cape. The alternate Ochako was very clearly intentionally not looking anywhere near him or his alternate self, her face redder than Alternate Kirishima’s hair.
They were still chatting softly, having just moved outside of the cape, but his Ochako shot him a wink and a sneaky thumbs up that pushed aside his worries about whether this universe’s Ochako felt the same that his ones did.
Sending a thumbs up in kind, he let his focus drift back to the upcoming fight between the two Kirishimas, who were currently going through the motions of an almost two-minute-long secret hand-shake that they both just seemed to… Know, without any prep or mistakes from either of them.
But Kirishima was the kind of person who just got along with everyone with ease, even himself apparently, so that made sense.
Kirishima’s fight was pretty cool, all things considered. His ability to soften his body and turn himself into what was -by Kirishima himself- affectionately called his ‘slime-time’ form was a surprisingly good counter to the surprisingly awesome ability of the alternate Kirishima had to Harden his body!
He saw -in his peripheral vision- that alternate Izuku and alternate Kachaan both seemed to flinch and laser-focus onto Kirishima when his body turned into a puddle before regrowing into a dark red blob of slime the size of a car, but he just chalked that up to potentially having fought a villain that had a similar Quirk during their internships or something, causing bad memories.
For most of the fight, alternate Kirishima just face-tanked everything that Slime Kirishima was capable of throwing at him, simply punching away the tendrils that the malleable boy sent his way with fists as hard as steel, or maybe even harder…
And then Slime Kirishima stopped trying to overpower him in a direct contest of strength, seemingly spotting the only downside to alternate Kirishima’s Hardening Quirk.
Slime Kirishima lunged at him, part of his getting punched away but the rest of him landed around alternate Kirishima and started to latch onto and hold the joints of the alternate Kirishima’s body… Bringing him to a complete standstill.
After a small struggle, he saw that the alternate Kirishima started to laugh, letting go of his hardening and raising his arms in surrender as he quickly got completely submerged in the red liquid. There was an instant that Slime Kirishima didn’t seem to notice, his senses famously poor within the confines of his own body, and…
“Mr Aizawa! Get him out of there!”
“Hey Teach! Turn his fucking Quirk off!”
He, alongside most of the class, flinched in surprise at how intense Alternate Izuku and Kachaan’s voices were as they called out over the class… And it was even more interesting how Aizawa reacted after a moment of surprise, his eyes widening slightly as he activated the intercom to the arena.
“Kirishima, your opponent has surrendered. The fight is over.”
To his credit, his universes Kirishima immediately let go of alternate Kirishima, and a quick glance over to alternate Izuku and alternate Kachaan… Who were sharing a look between the two of them that was filled with so much subtext Izuku felt like he was trying to read a foreign language.
He felt his lips curl into a frown as the alternate Izuku and Kachaan looked away from each other. He could kinda feel some form of respect here, but… Nowhere on the level of trust and brotherhood that he had with his Kachaan.
There was 100% a story there, but he wasn’t sure it was one he’d be able to listen to properly before he and his class were heading back to their own universe.
Shaking his head, he pushed that feeling of “Emotional story-telling FoMo” out of his mind as he felt his hands itching, small flames appearing around them as he saw the two Kodas enter the arena.
He had really wanted to spar with his alternate self, and he had been itching ever closer to it with each fight that passed, now he was up next after Koda, and he was excited . He’d practised with his Quirk daily since he got it, scorching even the fire-resistant furniture that they had gotten for the house after his Quirk manifested.
And from what he had been told, his alternate self had quite an interesting power, and he couldn’t wait to face off against it and figure out all of its tricks!
Notes:
Howdy howdy!
Thanks for reading! I'm working to try and get a chapter out for my MHA stories every now and then instead of the... Comparative nothing that they have right now, so thank you for bearing with me!
See you all in the next chapter I post!
