Happy Birthday Mabel and Dipper

Summary:

On each of their birthday, Mabel and Dipper get a package from their great-uncle Stanford Pines. What could it be?

Just a little story I came up to celebrate Mabel and Dipper’s birthday. It may or may not be canon in the Beast of Gravity Falls au

Work Text:

Every year on their birthday, Mabel and her twin brother Dipper would get a package from Gravity Falls Oregon. This package was always sent by their great-uncle Stanford Pines who lived up there. And every time, they awaited its arrival eagerly.

Some kids might get a toy from their distant relatives or some plushies but the package their great-uncle sent them was always special. Very unique.

It would always be some weird or strange things he would find in the woods surroundings his house. A purple leaf or a strange shaped mushroom. They even received a huge claw one year, from what? Their uncle didn’t say.

Their eleventh birthday was no exception.

This morning, the package arrived early in the morning. It was a long cardboard box and despite its size, it was surprisingly light.

The twins both ripped it apart but as soon as they saw all the soft little marbles filling the box they tread carefully. They didn’t want to break or damage what was in it. They had a pretty good idea of what it was but the anticipation was still exciting.

Barely containing their glee, they rummage through the package, until Mabel shouted a triumphant cry and carefully pulled out…

A huge beautiful grey feathers.

The young girl squealed in delight. This one was even bigger than the one from last year. She rotated it in her hand to get a good look, from every angle possible, at the marvel. A bright smile plastered on her face.

Dipper looked awed at the feather but kept searching the package. The feather wasn’t the only thing their great-uncle usually sent them. After a while, he produced an envelope with a letter and both their names written on it. He opened it and while his sister kept looking at the feather, he read the words out loud.

« Dear Mabel & Dipper,

I hope this package makes it all the way to your home, who am I kidding, they always do.

I don’t know what this feather is from but I knew you would love them. It Might be from the elusive Beast of Gravity Falls. Maybe the legend is true. Personally, I never saw any beast in those woods. Weird critters, yes, but nothing resembling a beast. Maybe you’ll know what this feather is from. You both are smart kids. You might be smart enough to shed light on this beast legend. It might be fake, but it does bring tourists in.

I hope you’ll be able to make it next summer.

Happy Birthday

Stanford Pines. »

« What do you say, bro-bro? » Asked Mabel. She gave him the feather to examine it himself.

Dipper took it gently and rested it next to the letter on his lap.

« I say we better get there next summer! » He exclaimed with a wide smile that rivaled his sister.
