Karaoke

Summary:

This outtake is from earlier in the A Step to the Left story, around the time buck found out she was pregnant, and it's set in a karaoke bar...

Work Text:

Buck smiled as she leaned against Eddie’s side. They had just watched Maddie sing ‘It’s raining men’ on the stage and she had gotten a standing ovation from the group. It had started as a night out with Eddie, Buck, Maddie and Chim, but then Chim had invited Hen and Karen and Buck had invited Lena and Christina, while Maddie invited Josh. Bobby and Athena had offered to watch the kids which meant that everyone could drink, everyone except Buck. Not that she cared, she was just happy to spend time with her friends and family.

So here they all were, sitting in a booth and challenging each other to sing karaoke on the stage. The challenge was that everyone had to sing a song each and if the response from the crowd was good, they got a drink of their choice from the person sitting on the left of them but if the group decided that it was bad they had to buy a drink for the person on their right.

Maddie had been the first one up and she smirked at Hen who was sitting on her left. “I want a Long Island Iced Tea, if you would be ever so kind.”

“Coming right up.” Hen laughed and went to order Maddie’s drink before walking to the stage.

They had decided to do the challenge in intervals of three. First was Maddie, Hen and Karen, then they would take a break and just talk and hang out for a while before, Lena Christina and Josh was up. After which they would take another break before Buck, Eddie and Chim had their turn.

Hen decided to sing Emotions by Mariah Carey and the bar was filled with laughs. When she came back to the table she already had Karen’s drink of choice with her.

“I know I can't sing.” Hen laughed as she sat down. “But it’s still fun.”

“You didn’t pick the easiest song either.” Buck pointed out with a smile.

“Go big or go home.” Hen chuckled, happily accepting the kiss from Karen who was on her way up to sing.

Everyone cheered as Karen sang Happy by Pharrell Williams and several people joined in the chorus which was really fun. Lena smiled and stood up as Karen finished her song.

“I guess your drink is on me.” Lena chuckled. “What's your poison?”

“Surprise me.” Karen laughed.

“Oh, this will be fun.” Lena walked off towards the bar.

“How’s the team, Chris?” Buck smiled over at the S.W.A.T. officer.

“Oh, you know.” Chris chuckled. “Their up to their usual shenanigans.”

“I've got to ask.” Hen turned to Chris. “But are Street and Luca dating?”

“…” Chris choked on the sip she had taken and started to cough. “What?”

“Street and Luca?” Hen sounded hesitant. “The times I've seen them they have been very close so I needed to ask.”

Chris started to laugh. She laughed so hard that she had to lean against Josh’s shoulder as tears streamed down her face. “Street… Luca… dating?...”

“I think you were wrong Hen.” Buck giggled and felt Eddie wrap his arm around her.

“Oh, I'm never letting them live this down.” Chris whipped her eyes just as Lena came back with a pink sparkly drink and placed it in front of Karen.

“What's going on?” Lena asked and they quickly told her what they had been talking about.

“I can see why you would think that, Hen.” Lena nodded. “I've only met them twice and I thought the same.”

“What is this?” Karen looked at her drink with curiosity.

“Oh, that was a drink I really, really, wanted to buy for Buck but since she can't drink with a baby on board, you had to do.” Lena smirked and sent a wink at Buck. “It’s called a Barbie Shot.”

“A Barbie Shot?” Maddie asked with a laugh. “Why did that make you want to buy it for Evie?”

“Well, Buck is basically a life sized Barbie, right?” Lena shrugged. “Blond, gorgeous, blue eyed…”

They all laughed at that, even Buck, before Karen picked up her pink drink. “What's in it?”

“1 oz Malibu Coconut Rum, 1 oz Absolut Vodka, 1 oz Cranberry Juice and 1 oz Orange Juice.” Lena told her.

Karen took a sip, sat quietly for a moment before her eye twitched. “Okay, that is… kinda good, actually. I mean, it’s not something I would order often but it wasn’t horrible.”

They sat around and talked for a few more minutes, laughing and joking and having a good time, until it was time for Lena to sing. Lena and Josh both got up and at the questioning looks, Josh smirked.

“No one said that we couldn’t do duets.” Josh seemed to enjoy the looks on their faces as Lena chuckled. “It was only decided that everybody had to get on stage and sing.”

Buck tried to muffle her giggle in Eddie’s shoulder but it really didn’t help. Soon everyone was laughing while Lena and Josh strutted up to the stage with matching smirks. Buck smiled and asked Eddie to do one of those catcall whistles and with a laugh he did.

Josh and Lena weren’t the best singers but they did quite good as they sang For your entertainment by Adam Lambert as a duet. When they got back to the table Chris stood up to go to the bar with Josh. Chris to buy Josh a drink and Josh to buy Lena a drink.

When they got back, Josh sat down and Lena went to the stage to sing her song. Buck started bouncing in her seat when she heard what Chris had chosen to sing as the song fit Chris to a T. when Chris finished singing Unstoppable by Sia they crowed cheered almost as loud as they had for Maddie earlier that evening.

“So, what can I get ya?” Buck asked as Chris came back.

“Just some red sangria, please.” Chris smiled and Buck nodded and made her way to the bar.

As she stood waiting for her turn she felt someone sliding up to her and as she turned to her right she saw a man that she could say was objectively handsome, but he had nothing on Eddie.

“Well hello there, beautiful.” The man said as he leaned against the bar beside Buck. “Could I maybe buy you a drink?”

“That’s sweet but I'm engaged.” Buck smiled and showed off her engagement ring.

“Oh, sorry, I didn’t know.” The man backed off with a apologetic look.

“Hey, it’s okay.” Buck chuckled. “If you don’t ask you can't know, right?”

“Thank you for not being mad or throwing your drink at me and calling me a creep.” The man looked down. “I'm Simon, by the way.”

“Why would I be mad? You just asked me if you could buy me a drink and the moment I said no you backed off.” Buck frowned, before smiling a little again. “I'm Buck.”

“Most women seem to think that just because I ask to buy them a drink I'm a creep and trying to get them into bed or something.” Simon shrugged.

“That’s just wrong.” Buck muttered. “Are you here with friends or…?”

“I was, but they ditched me earlier.” Simon looked a little uncomfortable at that.

“Wanna join me, my fiancé and our friends at our table?” Buck offered. “Seems to me like you might need new friends.”

“I wouldn’t want to intrude.” Simon looked down.

“What can I get you?” The bartender asked as he leaned forward towards Buck to hear her.

“A red sangria, please.” Buck smiled before turning back to Simon. “You won't be intruding.”

“If you're sure.” Simon muttered slowly.

“Here you go, miss.” The bartender gave her a glass of red sangria, took Buck's money and moved on.

“Come on.” Buck grabbed Simon’s arm and led him towards the table. “Guys, this is Simon.”

“Hi.” Simon waved awkwardly.

“Simon, these are Chimney, Maddie, Hen, Karen, Lena, Josh, Chris and last but definitely not least y fiancé, Eddie.” Buck pointed at everyone who greeted Simon with happy smiles all around.

“Nice to meet you, man.” Eddie moved so Simon could take Buck’s place between him and Chris.

“Likewise.” Simon smiled and sat down. “I hope I'm not intruding.”

“You're not.” Maddie assured before turning to Buck. “So, little sister, what are you going to sing this evening?”

“You’ll see, big sister, you'll see.” Buck laughed and walked towards the stage.

When it was her turned she walked forward to the mike and took a deep breath. “This song is dedicated to the love of my life.”

Remember those walls I built
Well, baby they're tumbling down
And they didn't even put up a fight
They didn't even make up a sound

I found a way to let you in
But I never really had a doubt
Standing in the light of your halo
I've got my angel now

It's like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
It's the risk that I'm takin'
I ain't never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace

You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

Hit me like a ray of sun
Burning through my darkest night
You're the only one that I want
Think I'm addicted to your light

I swore I'd never fall again
But this don't even feel like falling
Gravity can't forget
To pull me back to the ground again

It's like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
The risk that I'm takin'
I ain't never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace

You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

I can feel your halo
I can see your halo
I can feel your halo
I can see your halo

I can feel your halo
I can see your halo
I can feel your halo
I can see your halo

I can feel your halo
I can see your halo
I can feel your halo
I can see your halo…
” (Halo by Beyoncé)

Buck opened her eyes after she finished her song and everyone cheered and hollered at her for her performance, someone actually yelled that they wanted her to sing again. With a blush Buck thanked them and walked back to her friends.

The moment she got withing touching distance, Eddie pulled her into his arms and kissed her. The kiss was full of love and passion, and as Eddie pulled back Buck thought she could see tears in his eyes.

“Te amo, mi amor.” Eddie whispered softly.

“Yo tambien te amo, querido.” Buck whispered back.

“What do you want to drink?” Eddie asked as he let her go.

“Club soda, please.” Buck smiled.

“Coming right up.” Eddie nodded and walked off.

“That was really beautiful.” Simon complimented her and then when Eddie placed the club soda in front of Buck he asked. “You don’t drink?”

“I do, but I can't right now.” Buck smiled and sipped her soda.

“Oh?” Simon looked confused.

“It’s not a good idea to drink with a baby on board.” Buck chuckled.

“You're pregnant?” Simon’s eyes widened before a big smile broke out on his face. “Congratulations! Both of you.”

“Thank you.” Eddie smiled, kissed the side of Buck's head and walked up to the stage.

“This is going to sound weird, because I am as straight as can be.” Simon said as he looked after Eddie. “But that is one hell of a handsome man.”

“I know.” Buck smirked smugly.

“So, the woman who sang before me was amazing and I am feeling pretty smug about being engaged to her.” Eddie said into the mic.

“You lucky son of a bitch!” Some random guy called out.

“Trust me, I know.” Eddie laughed along with many of the guests. “But you see, she dedicated her song to me and I can't just let her one up me like that, so Evie, this is for you.”

The beat that started flowed through the club and made Buck's heart beat a little faster, and when Eddie started to sing she could feel a shiver go through her and a tingle between her thighs.

Every time I take a ride
I feel alive with nowhere to go
I'm a king of the road
You're the queen of my throne
Riding high day and night
Satisfied wherever we roam
You're the star of the show
You shimmer like gold

Now baby let's ride
We got nothing but time
You get all the reactions
You're the main attraction
It's no surprise
God, I like your style
You're the perfect distraction
You're the main attraction

Roaming through the city like the track of time
The freedom is mine
Riding the lines
You know how I like it, yeah
Pedal to the medal, I'm your soldier
We can take it for miles
And let it all wild
Just how I like it

Now baby let's ride
We got nothing but time
You get all the reactions
You're the main attraction
It's no surprise
God, I like your style
You're the perfect distraction
You're the main attraction

Now baby let's ride
Now baby let's ride
Ooh I like your style
Yeah

Now baby let's ride
We've got nothing but time
You get all the reactions
You're the main attraction
It's no surprise
God, I like your style
You're the perfect distraction
You're the main attraction…
” (Main Attraction by Jeremy Renner.)

The reaction to Eddie’s song was the loudest one yet and with a flourished bow, Eddie walked off the stage. When he came back to the table, Chim had already bought him a beer of his favorite brand and Eddie sat down with a nod.

“Casi quiero pedirte que vengas conmigo al baño, pero no lo haré.” Buck whispered into Eddie’s ear. “Estoy tan excitada ahora mismo que mis bragas están empapadas.” (I almost want to ask you to come with me to the bathroom, but I won't. I am so turned on right now that my panties are soaked.)

“Cuando lleguemos a casa voy a enterrar mi cara entre tus muslos y te comeré hasta que grites.” Eddie growled lowly back. “Y luego te follaré contra una pared y luego sobre la mesa del comedor y luego te volveré a follar en nuestra cama.” (When we get home I'm going to bury my face between your thighs and eat you out until you scream. And then I will fuck you against a wall and then over the dining room table and after that I’ll fuck you again in our bed.)

“¿Prometes?” Buck knew her voice was breathless and turned on. (Do you promise?)

“Si.” Eddie nipped at her neck.

“Bien.” Buck murmured, knowing that Eddie saw how she rubbed her thighs together, before she focused back on the stage where Chim was standing.

Chim had decided to sing You'll be in my heart by Phil Collins to Maddie. Because, as Chim had informed everybody there, he couldn’t be upstaged by some young whippersnapper.

After Chim had sung, and had it end with him not receiving a drink from Maddie but not having to buy a drink either, they all sat around and talked for about twenty minutes before Buck couldn’t take it anymore and told everyone it was time for her and Eddie to get home.

The only one who wasn’t tipsy or drunk, beside Buck and Eddie, was Simon who thanked them all for letting him join them before saying goodbye and catching an uber home. As Buck and Eddie stood outside hidden at the mouth of an alley as they waited for their own uber, Eddie snuck his hand down into Buck's panties.

“So wet for me, amor.” Eddie growled in her ear.

“Only for you.” Buck agreed with a moan.

“Good.” Eddie pulled his fingers out and stuck them in his mouth just as their uber arrived. “I've got plans for you.”
