Chapter Text
It’s hard being pretty. Sunghoon knows this. It’s his life motto. Having girls from nearby schools chasing him all the time he takes a step outside. A pro of being the son of one of Korea’s richest families, but It’s not something he can control. Well, he could but he’d rather not, his life wouldn’t be as fun without the digits of specs behind him, like if he were a minecraft enderman. His little fanbase, if you will. He also didn’t wanna ruin his image. Imagine seeing a tall handsome ice prince rejecting a group in public? Not to mention that he’s known to be kind and generous to his elders, what would they think of him?
This is why he likes to keep a pretty high standard for everyone. Not once did he ever meet someone that dislikes him. The closest was probably one of his ex’s fathers, who knew an old man would be mad at him for breaking up with his daughter on her birthday? How was Sunghoon supposed to know it was her birthday? Besides, she was weird and collected his hair and best friend’s hair.
He wants to be liked by everyone, what’s so fun about being hated.
It’s also pretty easy to be liked anyways. He has many friends, though he does have a small friend group of four, he’s pretty scattered all over the place. Some in the artsy boys, some in the brainy groups, some in the alt dudes, some with the popular guys, and even sometimes he gets friendly with the teachers. See, it’s hard not to like someone. And to the students who don’t like him, that’s okay too but it’s not too common.
“Come home by nine.” His mother called out from her chair at the long and expensive dining table, one of her two handmaids bringing her another cup of the finest tea they had. Tieguanyin Tea, which in Sunghoon’s taste, tastes way too bitter to even be priced at $1,500 per pound.
Even the smell makes Sunghoon nauseous. Funny, more than his mom. You’re literally the funniest person on the planet, Sunghoon.
Sunghoon sighed as he grabbed a piece of toast from the grand feast that the house cook had made for them. It’s a bit too much for a husband and wife, their teenage son and his step siblings who live in another house, especially when the husband is having breakfast with his other family and the teenage son wants nothing more than to leave the house. And of course, his step siblings live in another house, away from Sunghoon and his mom, with his father’s other wives. It’s just breakfast anyways, Sunghoon doesn’t like eating in the morning.
“Tell that to your husband too.” He snorted, ignoring the concerning looks the butlers and maids gave him. The boy just shrugged off the stares, his attention to the middle aged woman across from him.
People don’t believe him when he says his mom is only 37. Most people believe her to be at least in her late 20s. Poor Kang Hajoon, the eighteen year old who was forced to marry Park Hangyeol, a twenty year old who already owned a billion dollar company. And the pitiful Park Sunghoon, the unlucky sperm who unfortunately won the lottery race.
“Don’t speak to your mother that way.” His mother looked at him with a strict look, looking at him like he was a disgrace before turning back to her food.
“Mother my ass.” Sunghoon whispered to himself, taking a seat at the table, looking at all of the food.
It’s all the same. It’s always the same. She made them prepare the same pregnancy meal she’s been eating for almost years in a row now. Seaweed soup and whatever little side dish her crumbling heart desires. Not every day, but it’s enough days to drive anyone crazy.
His mother clears her throat, covering her mouth with a nearby cloth napkin. Her maids ran to her quickly, checking if she was okay but backing off once she put her hand up to make them hold.
All of them follow her at her command. What kind of living is that? Sometimes, Sunghoon doesn’t understand what kind of people would want to put up with a family like his.
“Seriously, stop trying.” Sunghoon played around with the spoon of his serving of soup. Something about this soup… makes him gag with hatred.
“Elaborate.” His mother looked up at him, placing the napkin back down. The look in her eye was nothing but the same since Sunghoon Can remember. The same dark flash of hatred towards her own child. Who could blame her? Her son is Park Sunghoon.
“A baby, just give it up.” Sunghoon looked up from his bowl too, giving her cold and insincere eyes. He wasn’t kidding with her. He was tired of it.
“What are you talking about-“
“It’s funny you believe that psychic of yours. Seaweed soup doesn’t keep your baby alive, anyone who took basic biology would know that.”
“It’s not like that this time.”
“Oh yeah, like all the other times you had miscarriages.”
“Some tongue you have, son.” His mother scoffed, holding the napkin in her hand. It’s funny, Sunghoon thinks, How mad she gets. He can tell by the way she gripped the cloth how much he was getting on her nerves.
“Who do you think raised me?” Sunghoon dropped the spoon in the bowl, taking a bite of the bread instead.
“Mhm,” His mom sighed, looking back down at her food and continued to eat.
“You stay quiet because you knew you didn’t.” Sunghoon found it funny, again. Yeah, call him a brat, but at the end of the day, it’s his mom that never gave a shit about him.
“Quiet.” His mom sighed, holding her head from the giant migraine she was probably getting.
“Alright, that’s my time to leave.” The teen gets up from the table “I’m planning on going to Heeseung’s after”
“Sunghoon,” His mothers stern voice made everyone stand straight up and still, “I said at nine.”
“Yeah, I heard you the first time,” He took another bite of the bread, walking towards the front door, swinging his backpack on “I’m leaving.”
“Have a good day at school today, Mr. Park.”
“Good luck on your custody battle, Mr. Do.”
Yes, he said that he wanted to be liked by everyone. Not by no one. Besides, he never really liked anyone that worked in his house. Not only are there too many of them, but you also can’t really have any privacy with them always walking in on him. They always tell him to do, as well. Sunghoon, don’t climb on trees. Sunghoon, you can’t bring your whole team over without advising us first. Sunghoon, you can’t fire one of us just because we won’t leave your room.
Annoying.
Sunghoon finds all of them extremely annoying.
»»———— ✼ ————««
“There he is, sleeping beauty!”
Sunghoon looked up from his phone, smiling when he was met with dumb, dumb, and dumber. The three musketeers. The three little pigs. Alvin and the Chipmunks. The rowdyruff boys. The three stooges. The three blind mice. I hope you understand where he’s going with this.
“You weren’t answering our calls dumbass,” Heeseung sniped, the lollipop never leaving his tongue once during the sentence “What happened? Shat on your bed again?”
Lee Heeseung, The oldest in his friend group. It was rumored for him to be in a kpop group or that he was getting cast from big successful companies, but none of them were actually true. It was mostly made by neighborhood women and students who would look at him and believe he was one of the most handsome boys in the world. There is no lie in it, Sunghoon does agree since when he first met him in middle school, He believed Heeseung to be an idol trainee. He also didn’t seem to realize what a big pain in the ass he was. Seriously, what a clown his president was.
Didn’t he mention that? Heeseung, the school’s tall and handsome student council president. Not only for the student class but for his own classroom as well. He’s really an all-rounder. And don’t forget, a heart-breaker as well. Lee Heeseung, The one who goes for both guys and girls, nobody is really safe from falling in love with him. Poor Jake, He always has to be the one to face the wrath and slaps from all of Heeseung’s exes.
“Yeah, huge mess,” Sunghoon rolled his eyes, throwing his arm over Heeseung’s shoulder as they started walking towards the school building “Did it just to see Ms. Kim clean me.”
“Oh, been there done that-“
“I really hope you're kidding,” The blonde from behind them laughed awkwardly “Isn’t she married…”
“That’s better Riki! Her son is in my grade, which makes her even hotter.” Heeseung responded in a cool tone.
“Still… It’s inhuman to break up a marriage, especially if they’re your friends' parents…”
Nishimura Riki, also known as Niki, a nickname given to him by yours truly. He’s a freshman who moved to Korea with his mom and sister. Not much is known about him from the others, he won’t let anyone ask him anything too personal. Sunghoon thinks his Korean is actually pretty good, he was surprised when the younger told him he had only four months to study before the big move. Apart from being good at Korean and extremely secretive, Sunghoon also found out for the boy to be good at dancing and sports in general.
It was on the week of school, As the soccer captain, Sunghoon had to find newbies for the soccer team. It wasn’t at all hard for him, since he already had a line of boys who wanted to follow him in his steps. But it was pretty difficult to actually find someone who was good. And there he was, the one who saved his ass from a scolding from Coach Kim. Not only was he good but the rest of the team seemed to have grown to him pretty quickly. An angel sent from heaven, if you may call it.
Ever since then, He’s noticed that Niki wasn’t that popular in his grade. What he showed in the soccer field, which was confidence and passion, turned to cowardness and shyness in the classroom. That’s why he decided on making him join his small friend group, as well as his bigger one.
“It’s a joke, Maknae.” Sunghoon chuckled, flicking Niki’s forehead. Sometimes, he wonders if Niki would be okay when the three of them graduate from high school this year. He’s such a sweet kid with not many friends, but Sunghoon thinks he can make it.
“Park Sunghoon, Make your girlfriends stop following us.” Jake’s voice was muffled by Sunghoon’s uneaten piece of bread, glancing behind them to show the group of squealing girls following behind them in an indiscreet manner.
Sim Jaehyun, or Jake. Sunghoon’s best friend of six years. He met him in his first year of middle school when the older one came back from Australia. They just kind of clicked. It started when Jake asked him for a pencil, and after a fight on whether his mechanical pencil was equivalent to a no.2 pencil, Jake asked him if he could have lunch with him. They just kind of clicked. You know, they’ve been stuck with each other for a while now, and Sunghoon doesn’t believe he’ll let him go for a while.
No, Sim Jake knows way too much of him and the dumb… stuff he did when he was in middle school.
Sunghoon gave him a small smile, draping his arm off of Heeseung before turning around. The girls let out an excited squall, turning to look at each other with excitement. This is what he was talking about, it’s hard to turn down a group of girls in public like this, his classmates all going in through the entrance of the school, wondering why there were girls from a public school in a private all-boys academy.
People are way too nosy for their own good. Park Sunghoon really doesn’t like it. The whispers, it’s something he hates and loves at the same time. He especially hates these types of girls who idolize him. Always trying to take his picture, grabbing his hand without his consent, and trying to pull him away from his friends to go confess to him. It’s annoying.
Really annoying.
“Uhm, I wanna tell you something, Oppa.” One of the girls spoke up, who was getting excitedly swarmed by her friends who praised and encouraged her to speak. She was pretty, Sunghoon must admit. She had pretty long hair, and her eyes were round, and not to mention that she had a nice smile. There was one thing that was throwing him off. He doesn’t like her, nor does he know her name.
“Actually,” Sunghoon was standing cooly “My class is starting soon.”
“Oh then can I wai-”
“You should go before security comes, there are no girls allowed here. I’ll meet up with you sometime, yeah?”
“Oh,” The girls looked a bit flustered. But her eyes were quick to sparkle again once he gave her a smile, nodding her head enthusiastically “Okay! I’ll see you later”.
“Thank you.” He gave them another warm smile to set them off running and giggling. The smile quickly fell once he saw them turn the corner. He could still hear the squeals from a mile away. They sounded like dying birds.
It was Annoying.
“They really have the confidence,” Jake gawked behind him. “You should date her, have a girl put you in your place.”
“In my place? Where is that? Your mom’s bed?” Sunghoon let out a chuckle as he felt a smack on the back of his head.
“You slept with his mom, too? Is this not illegal in korea?”
“Riki-“
»»———— ✼ ————««
“Alright, boys! Get to your homerooms!” A loud voice boomed through the main halls of the school, it belonged no other to Principal Kim. He was a fairly big man, he was clumsy though. Once ripping his pants in front of thousands of students and parents during graduation.
“Just one!” Jake fell onto Sunghoon’s back trying to take the freshly made chocolate chip cookies with a heart bow tied on them.
“No, Dongpyo gave them to me.” Sunghoon held the cookies to the highest his arm could go, trying his best to not let the cookies suffer Jake’s stomach.
“I’m sure he wanted you to share!”
“Why does it have a heart next to my name, huh?”
“Well no but it could be erased-”
“No, his handwriting is so cute! I’m keeping it!”
“I like his writing too! Give me some!”
“No, He made them for me! Therefore they’re mine!”
“Why! You won’t even eat them!”
“I will! I like him so I’ll eat them!”
“I like him too! I should get one!”
“But he doesn’t like you-“
“Okay, See you at lunch Niki.” Heeseung let go of Riki’s shoulder, ruffling his hair as the blonde boy ran to his classroom.
“Don’t drool over Mr.Choi!” Jake yelled out towards him, making the younger boy stop and tilt his head towards the other.
Why would he drool over a fifty-year-old man? Did he have a drooling problem?
“He doesn’t mean it like that!” Sunghoon yelled a bit after, making Niki nod his head in understanding. Niki, He takes everything a bit too seriously. That’s what makes his company so appealing.
“Bye!” Niki waved off to them as he greeted his teacher and walked into the room.
“Ah, He’s too cute for his own good.” Heeseung chortled, waving back to him.
“Cute, but he’s way too deliberated.'' Jake shook his head, making his way across the hall and up the giant flight of stairs. These damn stairs are going to give Sunghoon nightmares once he leaves for college.
“Wow, since when did you use big words?” Sunghoon raised a brow, keeping the same pace as the other two. He’s surprised. Jake doesn’t even know what an adverb is (but to be honest who does).
“Since your dumbass stopped replying to my messages,” Jake took out his phone and showed him the screen “Learn with My Melody, A New vocabulary word every day for children, has my back when you’re not there.”
“I didn’t text you back for a day. How are you this bored without me.” Sunghoon took his friend’s phone, laughing at the absolute ridiculousness of the app? Not only were the colors of her hat wrong, but it all looked like it was built on a Gameboy on three percent. The only thing that shocked him to the core was the fact that Jake's daily check-in was on day six.
“Very, thanks to you I’m almost at day seven, where I get three more gems so I can buy her a handbag.” Jake stuck out his tongue, taking his phone back.
“But she already has one right there.” Sunghoon pointed at the screen at the very obvious neon blue and green handbag that was as big as her body.
“Yeah but that’s the one you get when you buy a package.”
“You bought something off of this app?”
“I was lonely for the whole day, hoon! I had to do it for me and my bestie!” Jake flips the phone towards Sunghoon, trying to make it seem obvious that he and the app have a very deep connection. “Plus it was only seven dollars, it was basically a steal.”
“Yeah they stole your money dumbass.”
“They didn’t steal shit, the only thing she stole is my heart!”
“You can’t be serious-”
“The only thing that you, Park Sunghoon, did was shatter it.”
“Why didn’t you take him to the park at least?” Sunghoon pats Heeseung’s chest with his backhand, noticing how the older cracked out a smile “You know he needs at least an hour of outside time every day.”
The oldest of the three looks up from his own phone, only being a bystander in the conversation he did not want to be a part of. The last thing he wants to be discussing is an eighteen-year-old with an unhealthy addiction to getting scammed by games made for children.
“I tried, but he said he was too busy convincing his mom for seven dollars.” Heeseung and Sunghoon let out into a laughing fit as Jake’s ears turned a crimson red.
“Some friends you guys are,” Jake scoffed she placed his phone back into his pocket, standing still in front of on top of the staircase “Making fun of the cutie in the group for having hobbies and having no money to spend on those hobbies.”
And some friend Sunghoon is to never let Jake touch that sketchy-looking game ever again. Yes, it’s funny to see him get completely fooled into buying dumb deals, but he at least wants him to have his dignity before he goes broke. Or maybe he’ll let him go to day fourteen before he lets him down gently and deletes the app.
“Don’t be mad, We can go to Everland this Saturday if you want, cutie” Sunghoon winked over at Jake, receiving a fake reaction by hiding his face in his hands.
“Park Sunghoon, are you asking me out on a date?” Jake fluttered his eyes.
“Who said that.”
“You did just know.”
“You’re crazy if you think that.”
“You’re right, I’m too pretty to think.”
“Shut the fuck up.” Sunghoom cackled, flicking the side of Jake’s head. Jake stopped his act and held his head like it was just stabbed or pierced brutally.
“Don’t hit his head,” Heeseung retorted, opening the classroom door for the both of them “He’s going to lose all those grown-up words in his pretty little head.”
“See, even the hot one thinks I’m pretty.” Jake patted his chest, giving the two a peace sign before walking into the classroom.
“I’m the hot one?”
“Hey, you said it was me.” Sunghoon looked betrayed, pointing at himself.
“I just love the drama~” Jake sang from the inside of the room.
“How am I friends with him? '' Heeseung tilted his head, letting out a small laugh as he watched the other walk to his seat.
“Destiny?”
“You believe in destiny? Wait no let me make it clear, You believe in something?”
“Nah, just saw it in a drama once,” Sunghhon walked in, remembering the drama his ex forced him to watch, like if he would ever watch a Kdrama willingly “Who knows, maybe he’s your soulmate”
“Yeah right” Heeseung took his seat next to Jake, who sat by the window “I don’t believe an idiot like this could ever even get a girlfriend”
“Girlfriend? I have too many already” Jake took out his notebook, leaning against his chair “Sorry Heeseung”
“Too many in your head maybe”
“So can you go?” Sunghoon took his seat behind them. Being the favorite, he gets to have the seat all the way in the back, next to the window. Not only does he get all the fresh breeze, but he also gets to have a nice view of the city. And even better, he gets to see the transitions through the season. How the tree leaves are now falling, preparing for the cold seasons.
Winter, Sunghoon really loves winter.
But sadly, it hasn't started yet. It’s still fall. He still loves fall though. There was something warm about it.
“Where? Everland? That’s too far.”
“Two hours isn’t long when you're with your besties.” Jake chirped in.
“Yeah, I can just ask a driver to take us in the van.”
“I forgot you were rich enough to have your own driver.” Heeseung groaned, but then nodded a bit afterward “Fine, I guess now I have to.”
“Yeah, and the rest of the council knows? Oh, Okay that’s wonderful, Thank you Minhee, Bye” Jay walks into the room, whispering into the phone as to not disrupt his classmates. But Jay, being a very loud Jay, couldn’t be quiet enough for the three boys not to overhear his conversation.
“Council? That’s me, I'm the president” Heeseung turned in his chair.
“Yeah? They didn’t tell you first? Some shitty council” Jay sat in his seat next to Sunghoon, placing his phone in his pocket.
Jay Park. And no he’s not that shitty rapper guy most people confuse him with. Jay Park, The boy Sunghoon met in elementary school who later became his close friend in middle school. He came to Korea from the US with broken Korean, maybe that was the reason Sunghoon didn’t want to hang out with him at that time. But eventually, Sunghoon warmed up to him.
He’s also the student council vice-president. Get in line ladies, he’s already taken. Geez, poor Jay could never take a break.
“No, what are they talking about?” Heeseung raised a brow.
“Well, They want us to have a meeting during fifth hour,” Jay took out a cinnamon bun, classic Jay, from his bag, munching on it already while talking with his mouth full “They already advised the teachers so we get to skip.”
“Very cool I like that Idea already.” Jake gave him a finger gun, excited that he doesn’t have to do the math that afternoon.
“They don’t want just me and you?” Heeseung ripped half of the bun from Jay, taking a bite from it. Sharing is caring, that’s the first lesson everyone learned in kindergarten.
“Nah, Minhee told me that they want Me, you and Sunghoon-”
“What! The secretary should go too!” Jake’s mouth almost dropped to the floor hearing the so sudden news, not even a few seconds ago he heard that
“Don’t worry, Chanhee already made them include you like you would be able to live without us by yourself.”
“That’s right, I’d starve without you guys,” Jake’s hand slithered towards Jay's desk to get a small crumb but was shocked when his hand was slapped away “Ow, How could you hit my precious hand?”
“Get your own food.” Jay grumbled as he shoved the piece into his mouth in front of Jake so he could see. Some heartless man Jay was.
“You want me dead!”
“Kind of-“
“Harsh, Jay Park. You’ll be my thirteen reason!”
“Bitch I'll be your only reason.”
“Hey, we wanna go to Everland this weekend, you down?” Sunghoon changed the subject before Jake started to complain again.
“I bet he can’t, he’s been blowing us off for Yoojin.” Heeseung sat back forward on his chair, only turning his upper half to look at the “No doubt he can’t.”
“No, I can go,” Jay cleaned the crumbs off his face, throwing the trash into his bag “We broke up.”
“How are you not crying? You usually come into school crying and eating your heart out.”
“It’s different this time, she told me she got with me because she liked my friend.”
Jake had to quickly turn around his desk, his mouth even more open than it was before.
“Do you… think I have a chance?”
“Yeah, she’ll totally like a guy who plays a sketchy game for children,” Jake was finger flicked for the second time today. Poor guy, losing brain cells left and right “Fucking Dumbass, She liked Sunghoon.”
“He told you about the game?” Sunghoon added, cracking a smile as soon as he saw Jay about to lose his shit laughing.
“He sent me a screenshot… the other day because he got over a thousand points-” Jay couldn’t even get through the sentence without letting out a loud-ass laugh. How is it his fault, when Jake does shit like that how can he not laugh?
The other two boys followed after that, laughing like a pack of hyenas. Jake gasped as his friends began to laugh at him.
“Wow... I seriously need new friends.”
“Class is starting!” Mr.Jeon walked into the classroom, going up to the podium in the front of the class. He placed the papers in his hand down, looking around the classroom “May the four ninja turtles in the back be quiet please!”
“Does that make you splinter?” Jay yelled from the back, making the rest of the immature classmates burst out laughing.
“Do I look like a rat to you!” Mr.Jeon let out a laugh, silencing the class with a snap of his fingers “Listen up, we have a busy schedule today.”
Sunghoon really likes this time of the day. He gets to daze off while Mr.Jeon tells the class what they’ll be doing for fifteen minutes. Usually, It could take around five to seven minutes for a normal teacher, but Sunghoon believes that Mr.Jeon is no normal teacher. It makes sense since Mr. Jeon is pretty young. Like he means young young, like the man is 23 years old and has an above-average paying job. But he’s young enough to understand jokes and the trends around the school, that’s why he’s so easygoing with the rest of the boys.
“After you guys come back from lunch you guys have Math with Mr.Kim, The one with short hair not long hair, yall better not walk into his class again because he told me y’all came in making inappropriate gestures, which lets face it I find it funny but not that middle-aged man- don’t tell him I said that. Council Members are allowed to leave during this time to the meeting room because they have some top-secret thing to discuss-”
“Top secret? I won’t be able to shut my mouth if it’s a secret.” Jake whispered over to Heeseung, who had been taking notes of the schedule. Ah yes, Heeseung, the only boy ever to write in his planner.
“You better or you’ll get kicked out.” Heeseung whispered back, flicking his head before turning back to writing down.
“Ow! But what if it slips?”
“That’s what she said.” Sunghoon lets out a snort as Jay grabs his arm to try not to laugh out loud during the announcements, Jay himself letting out a silent laugh.
“-Mmm after you guys finish the math lesson you guys will be escorted to the Main Room for an Assembly, and after that, you guys hang out with me for thirty minutes and your day is done.” Mr.Jeon ended that last sentence with him pulling out his Nintendo switch from behind the pedestal. Yeah, Mr.Jeon was dangerously young for this Job.
“What’s the assembly about?”
“Top secret,” Mr.Jeon smirked and put his finger on his lip “and it may or may not involve me but you guys will see later.”
“Are you announcing that you aren’t a virgin anymore?”
“Hey!”
“He’s a virgin? Didn’t he sleep with the lunch lady?”
“That’s it! I’m going to ask Namjoon for a class exchange!”
“Thank god-“
“Why are you guys being so mean today! You know I’m sensitive!”
»»———— ✼ ————««
“I’m stuffed to the brim.'' Jake groaned as he held his stomach, walking towards the soccer field. No wonder he was, He ate two plate servings of lunch and twenty dino chicken nuggets from Hueining kai. Who had brought the nuggets with the intention of eating them, but ended up getting a stomach ache from one single dino.
Not Jake though, the man with a stomach of steel.
“That’s what your mom told me last night.” Heeseung scrolled through his phone, laughing as he felt a slap on his head, almost falling and eating shit. He stumbled back up straight gracefully.
“That’s it, I’m telling my mom.” Jake scoffed.
“That’s even better.”
“Wow, as expected from Niki,” Jay smiled as he looked over at the soccer field to see the freshman practicing his kicks with a few guys from the team. Even during their lunch, Riki doesn’t really stop the grind.
He was kicking up the ball, showing off his tricks to the other guys while they wowed and praised him for it. He’s another Breed, Sunghoon thinks to himself, He’s sure that even with a broken leg, Niki would still be kicking.
“I swear he’s already better than you Jay.” Sunghoon claimed with a smirk, only to receive a small punch to his arm by the other.
“Nobody can stop me, the king of the field.” Jake threw his arm over Sunghoon’s shoulder.
The four made their way over to the giant soccer field. Well, it wasn’t as big as those fields on TV, but it was definitely bigger than a public school one for sure.
“Pass me over here!” Sunghoon called out to Niki, dropping his bag by the rest of them. What an iconic place to put your belongings where anyone can just snatch or get confused by the goal post.
Niki looked up from his feet, giving the boys a smile before kicking the ball over.
“How are we playing?” Sunghoon stopped the ball flawlessly with his shoe.
“Teams, Niki Vs Jisung” Huening Kai called out from the goal post, having been put there from the sad luck of sticks.
“Alright, I’ll be with Niki!”

“I don’t understand.” Sunoo whined, flipping her hair over her shoulder with a simple head movement, pushing the boxes in her hands with her knees as she tried to catch up with the headmistress “we’re in a school full of boys… why can’t they carry these dumb boxes.”
“We can be independent!” Jungwon was trying to encourage the others, but it only ended with Sunoo giving her a nasty look.
“Do I look strong to you?” Sunoo looked at her friend in disbelief. It’s true, she wasn’t strong mentally or physically. Once in middle school, she was asked by a teacher to carry a box. A BOX. She ended up falling down the stairs with the box in the end but lord oh mighty was that box heavy as shit.
“Yes, of course.” Jungwon smiled at her.
“Jungwon, You surprise me sometimes.”
“Why?”
“Something about you makes me not want to slap you to another world.”
“Well, that wouldn’t really work, the most that would happen would be me on the floor.” The younger giggled to herself.
“You have a death wish, Yang Jungwon.”
“Maybe.”
“Oh girls, doesn’t the fall smell so good?” The headmistress calls out from in front of them. She stopped in her tracks to fully inhale the air, looking up at the clear cool day. It was beautiful in her eyes. The trees were dying but they’re being reborn again in a few months. “Winter is coming soon, The trees are trying to tell us! You can smell the weather in the air, it’s just so perfect.”
To Sunoo, it kind of smelled like shit. No seriously, it’s probably coming from the trash cans.
“Winter… has a smell, headmistress?” Jungwon looked back at Sunoo, looking around at the trees. Smell, It only smells like… air.
“Yes, Jungwon! Can’t you smell it? What about hearing it, young lady? You can’t smell the earth and the coldness? Or the sounds of people laughing at the sound of a snowstorm outside the window?” The headmistress danced around joyfully “The visuals too, girls! The sight of people kissing and smiles all around, Oh, Winter is such a beaut, don’t you guys think!”
Both girls were completely shocked at the sudden dancing and the whole speech. If they didn’t know the headmistress, they would believe she’s a complete lunatic. But they do know her, and they do know she’s a bit… much at times. It’s nothing they could say out loud though, or they could get kicked out before they could even open their mouths.
“Yes, I can hear it, Headmistress!” Jungwon played along with her. Playing favorites, like always it’s a classic Jungwon move.
“You’re so wise, Miss!” Sunoo added to the fire, this would only hype the woman up more by a hundred percent.
“That’s right my girls.” The headmistress turned around dramatically to squeeze the girl’s cheeks with her hands “Now let’s go, follow your beautiful headmistress girls!”
Yeah, she was on another level.
Sunoo groaned as she picked up the boxes again, her arms feeling a bit weaker than before. Stupid gravity, If only Isaac Newton had just left that dumb apple alone she wouldn’t have to deal with this kind of bullshit.
“Wah, You look like Park Boyoung.” Jungwon commented enthusiastically, giving her a thumbs-up without dropping a box.
“What, How?”
“Strong Woman Kim Sunoo! A Woman who can pick up anything she can!”
“Hah, I wish, then I could have her hunk of a husband.”
“No chance, He likes small petite girls.”
“You’re right, I’m tall compared to you.”
“Bitch, you’re like one centimeter taller than me?”
“That’s enough to stomp on your head-”
“Girls hurry Up with those boxes!” The headmistress sang out, skipping her way around the corner.
This was the part Kim Sunoo was dreading the most. The turn of hell. As soon as she makes this turn the whole school would be in shambles. Not that she was calling herself pretty or anything, but three women walking through an all-boys school may be weird for most. Just like that one time that cute guy came in to promote his school’s sports day, every girl followed him around.
Kim sunoo doesn’t think of herself as special or doesn’t have any popping features since she is shy with people she meets. But the day that guy called her pretty instead of all of the girls following might’ve been her main character moment.
Why was her heart beating so much?
Is this normal?
Was she going to die?
Jungwon and Sunoo quickly followed the elder to the turn of the building. Immediately being faced with boys walking around, talking and well, Doing their own thing.
Surprisingly, It looks pretty similar to her own school. It had pretty big buildings, and she could see all the way in the back and a nice garden. Oh, and what she guesses is a soccer field. It wasn’t as overly fenced in as Belift Academy, so she was a bit taken back at the differences.
It wasn’t until her nightmares came true. As soon as she got out of her thoughts she noticed the number of eyes looking directly at them. Nope, she wasn’t used to this at all.
“You wanted me to join the student council so badly didn’t you.” Sunoo whispered towards the younger, who seemed to have just as much panic as she did.
“Yup, that way I didn’t have to deal with this myself.”
“Who are they?” A random boy asked his friend who just shrugged as they walked by. Oh great, now they’re whispering to each other- this isn’t good for Sunoo’s anxiety.
“I dunno, girls?”
“No shit, Sherlock.”
“They’re pretty!”
“Oh, my mom’s food might have given me diarrhea.”
“I think we should carry these quicker.” Sunoo mumbled, hurrying up on trying to catch up to the prancing headmistress who just seems to fly above the ground.
“I’m nervous.” Jungwon whispered over to sunoo, looking down trying to ignore the stares.
“Why, are you feeling okay?'' Sunoo looked at her concerned, she wasn’t able to pat her back so she did it, in some other dimension.
“No, I hate presenting.” Jungwon threw her head back groaning, as the president of the student council, it’s basically her job to have to do big announcements in front of people. But you know, what if men didn’t understand her jokes, Jungwon knows she’s funny but if they just sit there and stare, she’ll just be embarrassed.
“Ah, chill out Miss President, You’ll do excellent,” Sunoo bumper her shoulder with her own “You make the girls back at school snort, I’m sure you can handle groups of guys.”
‘You’re right I am funny.” Jungwon praised herself jokingly, letting out a small laugh “Hey is it me or is it weird that they’re still staring”
“Well no shit, it’s us or the headmistress they’re staring at.”
Both girls turned to look at the headmistress who was skipping to the beat of the song in her head, not giving a care in the world what anyone thinks of her. Sunoo wishes to have her confidence one day.
“There she goes flying away.” Sunoo sighed as they tried speedwalking to not let her walkway too far to the point they lost her.
“Headmistress, Where is the meeting room?” Jungwon calls out to her.
The headmistress stopped in her tracks, placing a finger on her chin to enter her thinking mode. She looks like the smartest woman on the planet from this angle. Thinking hard, weaning a professional coat and high heels. Truly Jungwon’s idol that’s for sure.
“I’m not sure, namjoon didn’t tell me which building it was…”
“Headmistress… You don’t know where to go?” Sunoo asked, a bit concerned. This wasn’t their first rodeo. This happened last time when the girls went to help out in a kindergarten class. They ended up in an elderly home eight hours after getting lost in the city thanks to her beauty, the headmistress.
“No, Excuse me,” She tapped a tall boy’s shoulder, not even waiting for the boy to turn around before asking “Is this Hype Boys Private Academy?”
Jungwon and Sunoo both mentally slapped their faces in sync. It was going to be a long day if they followed the headmistress like dogs to the wrong school.
“Oh, do you mean hybe?” The boy smiled awkwardly at the woman.
“Oh, Correct! It’s such a weird name!” The headmistress laughed to herself.
“Ah, Then you’re at the right school.”
“Thank god, I don’t think I can carry this for any longer.” Jungwon sighed as she placed the box down on the pavement, sitting down on it. Her fingers were redding from the weight of the dumb boxes.
“So much for a strong woman?’”
“Jokes get old after a while-”
“Yo! Heads up, dude!”
It all happened way too fast. To sunoo turning to loudass voice, to feeling the sharp pain hit her cheek. Was it painful? Of course, it was, Sunoo was guessing on a soccer ball. She always wondered why soccer balls were so hard, getting hit by them isn’t as fun as soccer fans think.
But the impact for her felt like an eternity. But at the same time way too fast. She already felt herself let go of the box. God bless her, she really hopes all the files for the meeting didn’t fly out. How would she know, her eyes were closed since the ball decided to fuck her up.
Was it over?
No
Sunoo wasn’t ready when she felt herself fall harshly onto the floor, possibly scraping her legs. Possibly? No definitely, the pain in the lower part of her body started to ache.
Is she dead? Does it end like this? She hopes because she really doesn’t want to wake up to a whole group of people looking down at her. That’d be embarrassing.
“Sunoo! Are you okay?”
Was that Jungwon? It sounds like her. Is she an angel? I mean sure she acts like a demon all the time but maybe it’s her transporting her to the overworld.
“Ah.” Sunoo squinted at the bright grey sky. Fuck, she’s alive? If she didn’t care about her image so much she would scream at the top of her lungs because oh my god did her cheek burn.
“Are you okay?” Jungwoo was on her knees next to her, grabbing onto her arm.
“Hurts like a bitch!” Sunoo held her cheek that felt like it was on fire. Was she going to be able to show her face if she had a bruise on it? What if it does bruise? How many weeks does it take to heal? What if it takes months! How would she live with herself?!?
“No shit, that was a fastball.” Jungwon rubbed her arm, turning around to look up at the headmistress to see her comment.
“Oh my god, Sunoo,” The headmistress gasped, smiling gleefully “It’s a sign! You’re going to meet your destiny!”
Yup, that was an answer Sunoo expected. Her headmistress was fucking insane!
“Are you okay? Can you get up?” Jungwon was still extremely worried. Oh, what would Sunoo do without her best friend? Probably wouldn’t have gotten hit with a ball but she’s not trying to be petty at the moment.
“No, I think I broke my legs.”
“Hey, dude are you okay.”
Sunoo looked up to meet the eyes of a handsome boy. Maybe, The headmistress wasn’t wrong after all. Or at least she hopes she wasn’t because this boy, he was breathtaking.
Was this it? She was finally having her Kdrama moment. She could only guess what he does next, and that is to help her get on her feet.
“Are you... Okay?” The boy was, wow. Sunoo hasn’t seen anyone like him. He had such a puppylike vibe to him, it was probably just the sudden urge to pat his hair. But she can’t do that, she barely knows this man.
One couldn’t hurt...
No, control yourself Kim Sunoo.
“Yes, I’m fine,” Sunoo looked up from her scraped knees, smiling at the boy in front of her “Thank you.”
“Here.” The boy stood up from the ground, offering his, dirty but it’s okay, hand towards sunoo.
Oh god, Sunoo was afraid of her heart beating out of her chest. What if it was so loud he could hear it. Were her cheeks blushing or was that just from the hit? Either one, her cheeks were burning like a stovetop. She could cook on her own cheek.
Good evening sir, here’s our finest steak cooked on Sunoo’s cheek. You may find a bit of lotion or BB cream on it, but that’s just for the extra seasoning and flavor.
“Thank you.” She grabbed onto his hand. Oh god, his hand was so nice to touch. She was disrupted from her thoughts when she got pulled up, almost losing her balance. Thank god she took those ballet classes, or else she would’ve eaten shit twice.
A painful sting made her come back to the real world. She hissed, holding onto her knee. Her beautiful knee. First her face and now her knee.
“Oh, You’re bleeding.” The student squatted, taking a loot at the smallass scratches and the barely visible amount of red coming from it.
“Oh, I’m okay,” Sunoo let out a small flustered giggle “It doesn’t hurt, really.”
“Are you sure, your face is red too, you got hit pretty hard.” The boy sounded worried. Did Sunoo finally pull someone, is that’s what happening right now?
“Oh, Is it... that red?” Sunoo touched her cheek, feeling the warmth and numbness the stupid ball left for her.
“Not very, it doesn’t cover your pretty face that much-”
“Ow, Fuck.” Sunoo bent over to hold her knee, her face turning redder than before. Why would he pull something like that on her, when she’s injured? Was he just going to watch her turn into the fucking tomato from veggie town? What is this?
“Oh, Here I can take you to the nurse.” The boy grabbed her arm, trying to look at her as if she was okay, she seemed to be mumbling to herself a lot.
“Oh no, it’s fin-”
“Jake.”
Sunoo took her focus to another boy, behind the so-called Jake. He was alright, to her at least. She liked his moles, but there’s something about him that puts her off.
“Oh, Sunghoon.” Jake turned around, watching as the taller one grabbed the ball and held it close to his hip.
“Let’s go.” Sunghoon pulled at Jake's uniform, his head nodding off to the soccer field. Jake noticed the way Sunghoon looked a bit annoyed, but he really didn’t know why. Park Sunghoon was always readable to him, but this is a whole nother level to him.
“Wait, I was going to take her to the nurse.”
“It’s fine you don’t have to.” Sunoo shook her head, standing up straight not, ignoring the soreness in her body.
“See, she said she’s fine.” Sunghoon stared at her up and down, pulling on Jake's uniform. He let out a small snark, almost laughing at her.
Was she getting judged? By, this man? BY A MAN? She could scoff right about now and annoy this motherfucker more, but she has to keep a nice image, she’s going to have to come here more often. She would then again like to thank (not really) Jungwon for making her go into the student council. Oh fuck, what if she had like some shit stain on her. No not like actual shit,
“Dude, at least say sorry,” Jake glanced at sunoo and then back at Sunghoon, whispering the next part “You did kick the ball dumbass.”
Oh, so it was him.
“Hey Girl.”
Oh, there was something in that sentence that made her fucking blood boil. She knows that they most likely don’t know her name, but something in the way he says- oh she wants to punch him in the face. She’s never felt such a rage take over her- he could say it a bit nicer like instead of calling her ‘girl’ he could have just stayed with a simple ‘hey’.
“I’m sorry,” Sunghoon let go of Jake’s jacket, bending over to keep eye-to-eye contact with her “But it was kind of funny.”
Oh so now he’s calling her fucking short?
What a rude son of a bitch. Sunoo just scoffed at Sunghoon, looking over at Jungwon. The younger was a bit shocked by the whole situation, she was just kind of off at the side witnessing everything. Sunoo turned back to the boy, crossing her hands over her chest.
“I didn’t find it very funny.”
“But it was to me.”
“How, because you saw it? What are you.”
“Me? A human. Are you blind too?”
“Too?”
“Well did you not hear? We screamed at you to watch out and yet you still stayed in place.”
“Wow, you’re really something else.”
“Nah, I’m me. Me who found it funny when you plopped onto the ground.”
“Are you going to keep doing this argument? How is me getting hurt funny to you?”
“Well, you didn’t see it. Of course, it wasn’t funny for you, but the way you fell over with those boxes was a sight to see” Sunghoon let a soft, ignorant, laugh.
“You’re really-” Sunoo was stopped by a worried Jungwon who clung onto her arm, almost pulling her down.
“Hey Sunoo, We’re going to be late- We should get going.” Jungwon looked over at the boys, bowing to both of them “Thank you, but I can take her there myself”
“Oh, Okay.” Jake nodded, trying to get out of Sunghoon’s hold who tried to pull him away “Have a nice day then.”
“Thank you, you too.” Jungwon smiled at him, waiting for them to walk back to the soccer field.
“What a fucking asshole.”
“Oh my god he’s scary.” Jungwon whined, letting go of her friend's arm and back to carrying the heavy ass boxes Sunoo lowkey forgot about “Let’s go.”
Spilled, all over the floor were the files for today’s meeting. Sunoo really hoped none of the boy’s student council didn’t mind the dirt that stepped on the files. And she really hoped no one else in this school was a fucking asshole like that mole son of a bitch.

The walk back to the classroom was a bit tense. To say it was a bit tense was an understatement. And for no reason as well. Well, there were many reasons especially with the ‘incident’ that happened during their lunch break. That ‘incident’, nobody really knew what happened when Jake and Sunghoon came back, all that was said really was Jake calling Sunghoon an asshole before continuing the game.
It was so weird. Heeseung has never seen Sunghoon like this. Usually, he’s a kiss-up for people to like him. It’s strangely suspicious. Sussy, if he might say.
He knows what he’s doing. That’s for sure. But he’s never done this while doing it. Does that make sense? He knows Sunghoon does this a lot, but he’s never acted like this, usually, he’d act like a gentleman or a fucking pick-me boy.
“So, Did you guys watch that new drama?” Heeseung laughed nervously, looking back and forth at Jake who was on her left, and Sunghoon who was on his right. He hasn’t felt this tension in between these two in a while, it was a bit awkward.
“Which one?” Jake didn’t seem to be as freaked as Heeseung, biting into his choco pie as they walked down the hall and up the stairs.
“The one where the girl is dying, and she likes this guy who decides everyone’s fate and stuff and they like to fall in love and stuff.” Heeseung answered back, he seemed to know this Kdrama a bit too well “I cried so many times during it you have no idea, when her little brother finds out and starts sobbing, oh it broke my heart in two.”
“Nah, Where can I watch it though? I love the drama-”
“You didn’t have to be an ass.'' Jake spoke up, knowing damn well Sunghoon was waiting for him to say something. His normal puppy vibe had now vanished, probably running all the way back to Australia and back.
So much for trying to lighten up the mood.
“And what? You were playing prince charming.” Sunghoon placed his hands into his pockets, not even giving an effort to look at Jake.
“Still, You hit her with a ball and laughed in her face about it” Jake sighed, whispering the next part to himself, “I thought you wanted so badly to keep your image.”
“And? It was funny?”
“It wasn’t.”
“Sorry for having a sense of Humor.”
“She’s nice.”
“Sure, She was about to cuss me out, didn’t you see her?”
“Of course she was, you were taunting her.”
“Sure, Did you see the way she’s looked at me, I don’t think I passed her vibe check.”
“Do you know her personally then?”
“Nope, But telling by her attitude alone she doesn’t have a chance with you”
“How the fuck do you know?”
“Because bitches like her break your fucking heart, dumbass. Haven’t you fucking learned.”
“Seriously, You’re a fucking asshole” Jake scoffed, walking faster up the stairs and down the hall to their classroom. He was fast, disappearing before Sunghoon could say his next words.
The silence was loud between the three of them, even though groups of boys were rushing to get to class. Only footsteps were noticeable, not much of the laughs and mumbles.
“You can’t keep babying your best friend Sunghoon,” Jay broke the awkward silence, hitting the younger on the back “He’s the same age as you.”
“I don’t care.” Sunghoon shook Jay's hand away.
“Whatever, Let’s just go and get our permission slips.” Heeseung sighed, signaling his head over to the classroom.
Sunghoon nodded his head, picking up his pace to arrive in the classroom, leaving the other two boys behind to eat his dust.
“I’ve never seen him act like that.” Jay sighed, pretending to kick Sunghoon in the butt once he left, clicking his cheek “He likes being liked, what kind of shit got into him.”
“He’s overprotective with things he likes.” Heeseung sighed, pulling out his phone to text Jake.
“He likes Jake?” Jay gasped, like if this were the first time he ever heard a rumor.
“No, He just doesn’t want Jake to get hurt again.”
“Again? What do you mean by ``again?”
“Don’t you think you’re asking too many questions?”
“I’m a learner, Heeseung. I need to ask questions to learn, dumbass.”
“I don’t know much about it,” Heeseung sighed and placed his phone back into his pocket “But it was some girl that broke his heart in middle school.”
“That’s it? That’s not good tea.”
“Dumbass, She was the one who spread that one rumor.” Heeseung bit his lip, looking down at his shoes.
“Which one? Am I missing something here? Wow, Nobody told me shit in middle school.”
“I was the one that told you back then, Sherlock.”
“You told me- Oh wait it was the one were Jake was out-”
“Whatever, Let’s go.”
“Who was the girl, again? Wasn’t her name like, Sunjun? Sunjoon? Was it with a woo? Tch, or was it Noo?”
“Your mom, dumbass.”

“Ta-da! Sunoo Unnie, Take a look!”
Sunoo turns around from sorting the files back into their folders to seeing Jungwon presenting her decorated piece of a white board. Yes, you know the ones you use for a school project. In Sunoo’s eyes, it looks like a three-year-old just placed dollar store stickers and glitter all over it.
Which, let’s be honest, would be impressive for a three-year-old, but Jungwon was seventeen years old. Not to mention the badly drawn stick people who looked like what sunoo thinks is dancing? It looks like they’re doing you-know-what to each other.
The colors aren’t on the theme as well. Which were supposed to be light blue and white. Now she did have those colors splattered in there, as well as red, yellow, orange, green, purple, and pink all over the rest of the board. Sunoo was starting to think sunoo forgot about their meeting.
“Uhm, did Taehyun unnie make that…”
“I knew it, Beomgyu Unnie did lie to me!!” Jungwon whined, falling to her knees as she held the legs of the stand “It looks so bad! I’ve been working on it for weeks!”
“Weeks? So you didn’t do it yesterday...” Sunoo’s question was genuine. She would never believe the younger spent actual time to make it look, at least decent.
“You’re not making me feel better” Jungwon hid her face in her arms. It was stressful. For some time now, their student council has been decreasing the number of members each year. Last year, Jungwon joined as a regular member with fifteen other girls, including sunoo.
This year, only four actually remained, shoutout to Yuna for being one of the girls for staying. But it won’t last long, she already sees that Yuna was trying to separate herself to join the dance club. Not to mention how only one freshman actually joined.
They’re lacking members. Their current number? Seven. SEVEN GIRLS. Soon to probably be six. It includes Yuna, the second year who badly wants to leave. She and Sunoo, who are now promoted to President and Vice President. Yoon and Soul who just joined to distract their time with. And finally, the seniors, who have too much on their hands to even help. Taehyun always seems to be studying for her exams and can't help Jungwon because Taehyun is trying to get into some big university. And Beomgyu is always leaving school and getting picked up by her college boyfriends Soobin and Yeonjun. So they rarely appear at the council.
That leaves Jungwon and Sunoo to do most of the work. And sadly yes, Jungwon has to do all their presentation preparation and their decorations. Usually, Sunoo would take care of it, but Sunoo got the Job of being in Incharge, of Basically everything else.
But, Jungwon, Isn't the council super fun? Well, It used to, and then it stopped. Everything that was pitched in was immediately thrown away by the head ladies. After time the student council slowly but surely got more boring since nothing new was ever done, nothing new being planned, nothing new to have meetings about, nothing new to look forward to or to be excited about.
This is why Jungwon’s Idea has to work! If it works and it passes by the boys of hybe academy, then maybe more girls will want to join and be a part of fun things! Maybe then Jungwon would have more friends and not have to sit with the lunch lady when Sunoo misses a day of school- okay maybe that part wasn’t so necessary. But then maybe Jungwon can have the high school experience she was hoping for. Where she walks into the room and a bunch of girls just beam and say good morning to her because she’s the president of the council.
“Wow, Jungwon, This looks amazing Honey.” The headmistress walks back into the room, her hands covering her mouth as she forces a shocked look on her face.
This was another reason why they must be losing members. The headmistress was a bit too much.
Don’t get Jungwon wrong, she loves her a lot, she’s helped her since she was a first-year and encouraged her to join the student council in the first place. But she can be a little too stressful at times. Like that one time, Jungwon was being pressured to do a speech in front of everyone’s parents and the headmistress made it worse by saying this could possibly ruin her image of being the president if she were to ditch the meeting. Well, It’s not her fault but Jungwon is a very anxious person around groups of people if those people are mean-looking.
“Thank you, Headmistress.” Jungwon smiled at her, watching the lady walk back out as soon as her phone started to ring.
“I hope your plan works Jungwon.” Sunoo places another folder into the box, making sure it was in the right order before looking over at Jungwon “I miss looking at other faces other than yours.”
“Wow, Some friend you are.” Jungwon pouts, getting up from the floor and walking over to her bag. She pulled out her laptop, typing in her password.
“Your best friend.” Sunoo mocked her tone.
“Nah, you sound more like a clown.”
“If I am a clown, that means you are too.”
“You can’t return insults like that if I said it first!”
“Birds of a feather stay together!”
Jungwon believes Sunoo is nothing like her. Sunoo obviously has more friends than she did. Although Sunoo was shyer than Jungwon, She was extremely friendly. So was Jungwon, but she had more acquaintances than friends. They know her name and talk with her but asking to sit with them was too much for Jungwon. Once you get to know her, she opens up more to you. While Sunoo shares her snacks with you, Junwgon would probably ask to go over Homework answers with you. Does that make sense? Yes? Good.
Sunoo liked having sns, like Instagram, Tik Tok, and Twitter on her phone. While Jungwon had things more like an advanced calculator for her homework. While Sunoo liked Kpop groups, Jungwon liked to settle for KIndie. While Sunoo liked to do her makeup and do her hair, Jungwon brushed it and washed her face and out the door, she went. While Sunoo likes to visit pretty cute places around the city, Jungwon likes to visit Sunoo’s house. Sunoo likes to dress up when they go out, Jungwon puts on her uniform, and on rare occasions she’ll have the energy to play stylist. The only thing Jungwon would say they have in common would be that they’re in the same class. And the fact that they’re extremely shy but that’s not the point.
“Are you setting up the slideshow?” Sunoo looked up at her from the ground, standing up and placing the heavy box onto one of the tables. Wincing at the sudden pain of her knee. It didn’t hurt as much as earlier, but it was still there for sure. After the incident, Jungwon slapped a bandaid on it and told her to walk it off like a bad bitch. Now, who’s the real friend here?
Sunoo walked up behind Jungwon, looking over her shoulder to watch what the younger was doing on her computer. But it only resulted in her laughing out loud.
“Hey, What is that!” Sunoo tried pushing Jungwon out of the way to take a better look but the younger kept putting herself more forward towards the laptop.
“No one!” Jungwon yelps, her cheeks turning redder by the second the more the laptop stays open.
“Is that a dating site? Let me see,” Sunoo tries to take another look at the laptop, taking in small hints of a yellow screen with white hearts and many notifications on the message button “Look how many, Oh my god, Yang Jungwon are you a player!”
“It’s not a dating site, sunoo!”
“Then what is it!”
“A… game.” Jungwon was bad at lying. Her face was way too expressional to ever keep a secret or to lie to someone’s face. Sunoo knows this, Each time she gets cornered into telling the truth she sucks in her bottom lip.
“Ah, why don’t you let me see! I’m great with this stuff.” Sunoo pulled away, pointing at herself as if she were making an offer on a terrible sale to a poor woman.
“You’ve never dated anyone in your life.” Jungwon claimed, looking at Sunoo like she wasn’t convinced at all for the sale.
“I’ll have you know,” Sunoo crossed her arms over her chest “I’ve dated plenty of people in the third grade, so suck it, you lost me.”
“Good,” Jungwon opened the laptop a bit more and exited out of the site, completely unaware of her demon trying to look over her shoulder “I didn’t want your help anyways.”
“So it is a dating website!”
Jungwon jolted in her place, jump scared from sunoo who was suddenly standing behind her like some stalker. The poor girl was going to get heart failure at the age of seventeen. Jungwon panted as she held her chest.
“Miss Vice president, don’t you need to set up our snacks?” Jungwon stood up straight, pulling her computer away from the other view.
“Yah, since when have you called me like that?” Sunoo scoffed.
“Miss Vice President, we still need to prepare for our meeting today, please do your Job as told.” Jungwon sat down on one of the chairs, ignoring the older one as she began to type on her computer without saying another word.
“Miss Vice President, You have some nerve Miss President.” Sunoo mocked her tone once more, clicking her tongue against her cheek.
Sunoo went to her bag, taking out a container. Tieguanyin tea, a tea all the girls in Belift usually gush over. It’s not her cup of tea, she prefers sweetness over bitterness. The most used tea in the school, she was lucky enough to get a container for the meeting from a head lady. She placed the container down on the counters, looking all over the closet for the room’s kettle. It was all the way in the back of a shelf, behind a bunch of busted board games and tennis balls, she gets the impression that these guys don’t clean at all.
She placed the kettle down, opening it up to clean it in the sink, and filled it up with clean water. She plugged it in, placing the kettle on top of it could boil nicely. Tea should be somewhat of a nice equalizer.
Sunoo walked over to the table against the wall opposite from the windows. If Sunoo was being honest, she thinks this school’s council room was better here than back at her own school. Sure, the one in Belift was fairly larger, The one here at Hybe seemed more lived in. For example, How messy this snack table was. There were no snacks to be found, but a bunch of wrappers and crumbs replacing them instead. Maybe this is why it feels lived in.
“Gross.” Sunoo whispered to herself, grabbing handfuls of wrappers from pastries and sweets, throwing them into the garbage can right next to the table. So much trash for a medium-sized table.
Seriously, What kind of people are they? If the Garbage is right next to the table, why not just throw it in instead of leaving it there. She bets all of them are rich. Seriously, there were piles of clear wrappers scattered like a jungle full of trees, or worse like a landfill filled with, well, trash. She sighed as she picked the last of the wrappers, almost gagging at the dirty table.
Crumbs, Many crumbs, and dried stains of spilled jelly were splattered all over the table. She sighed, dragging her hands over the table many times, placing the garbage can a bit closer so she could pile it up and spill the crumbs into it.
“These guys are gross,” Sunoo complained, making her way over to the cabinets to try and find some cleaning products “If they knew someone was coming why don’t they clean”.
“Ah, Apparently they didn’t, Their principal forgot about us.” Jungwon kept typing fast into her laptop, stooping a bit to look at sunoo “That’s why Headmistress didn’t know where to go, he forgot to even send her the directions.”
“Wow, So unprofessional.” Sunoo squatted as she opened a cabinet, her eyes scanning through endless amounts of junk before her eyes stopped at a container. All-Purpose wet tissues. It could do.
“Yeah, No wonder they attract each other so much.”
“Who? Headmistress and this guy?” Sunoo’s mouth widened.
“Yeah, I think that’s the reason she and the head ladies agreed to this Idea, So she can choose this school and meet with her lover” Jungwon scrunched her nose at that last part. Old people love gives her the heebie-jeebies, that’s why she never watched Goblin. It’s pure cringe to her.
“Wow, At this rate, I think all of the head ladies wanted to get with the teachers here” Sunoo gave off a disgusted look as she took out a wet wipe and started to wipe down the table. The jelly stains were a bite in the asshole, requiring her full strength to get rid of a single percent of it. She didn’t carry those boxes for anything. They were only preparing her for her biggest match yet.
“Yeah, But the headmistress with someone? It may give me nightmares!” The younger felt cold chills go through her spine. Old people. She was sure the headmistress wasn’t that old, but still. Jungwon doesn’t like thinking about that with anyone that isn’t near her age.
“As long as she’s entertained,” Sunoo scrubbed the table harder, making the table hit the wall every so often “That way I could sneak out of school once in a while, like how I used to.”
“Like hell, You can’t run for shit,” Jungwon laughed “The guards won't even let you climb the wall before you could even run for it”
“I’m a good runner, I’m basically a track star.” Sunoo giggled as she remembered that one song from TikTok “ She’s a runner, she’s a track star~ ”
“What are you singing?”
“Ah, You would understand if you finally get TikTok.” Sunoo stuck out her tongue, throwing away the used wet wipe, grabbing another one to go over the other half of the surface.
“I told you, I don’t like sns.” Jungwon frowned, getting up to go find their projector. Making a gleeful mewl when she finds it tucked in between bookshelves.
“I know, But maybe Twitter? You like to argue a lot” Sunoo threw away the wipe, clasping her hands as if it were a job well done. It was, those stains were harder than your dad. She placed her hands on her hips, trying to figure her next steps with the clean, almost brand new-looking, table. She quickly went to wash her hands in their sink, going to her bag to apply scented hand lotion and coming back to the table.
“I barely argue with anyone, You see I’m a nice person, Kim Sunoo~” Jungwon sang along, plugging in the cable and rolling the projector over towards the meeting table.
“Yeah, You only argue with me.” Sunoo pouts, looking over at her friend “How could you argue with my pretty face, Jungwon?”
“It’s easy since you don’t have one.” Jungwon stuck out her tongue at her this time, going back to connecting her computer to the Bluetooth of the projector.
“Wow, Next time you get stuck in your locker, don’t call me.” Sunoo sneered, turning back to take the macaroons out of her bag, sighing as she saw some were squished, sadly throwing the crushed ones into the trash.
“We promised we wouldn’t talk about that!” Jungwon exclaimed.
“Oops” Sunoo mocked her, taking out the precious plates from the academy. Thank god these weren’t crushed. Or else she would’ve had her own school money.
“Actually, No cause that was your fault!”
“I don’t remember what you’re talking about Miss President.”
“No! You closed the locker door on me after you asked me if I fit! I remember clearly it was after I told you that your file organizing was messy!”
“I’m sorry to hear that, President. Please continue doing your work, we have a meeting to run.”
“Wow, You always take my techniques don’t you.” Jungwon pursed her lips and shook her head, working back on her computer to get the stupid thing to work with the projector.
“Of course, I learn from the best, President!” Sunoo bragged, Placing the macaroons in a fancy pattern, reaching into her bag, and taking out the cakes that were made that day by their lunch ladies. Privileged, Sunoo likes to say, She gets to eat only the best cake made in Korea.
Made with the finest milk, flour, and eggs. Flavored by only fresh ingredients. The cakes made from the school must get these boy’s approval cause if they don’t she will riot.
Sunoo carefully placed individual slices, all of the different flavors, on different smaller plates. She placed the forks right next to them, to have them be convenient when the time does come. Things like this make Sunoo could become a cook because the way she plates things is considered pretty.
“Stupid whore piece of shit!” Jungwon yelled, slamming her head down onto the table.
“Wow, have some class.”
“How can I when this dumb piece of shit doesn’t want to connect!” Jungwon whined, looking like a five-year-old who got their iPad taken away. Makes sense, Jungwon was a ‘do you got games on your phone kid.
“Do you have the wifi on?” Sunoo walked over to the kettle, turning it off so it would cool down. It was pretty much ready, but sunoo learned from last year that you should not serve tea while it’s practically boiling. If the man drank the boiling liquid and scorched his mouth, why would he drop it on his crotch? It wasn’t her fault he wasn’t thinking straight.
“Oh…” Jungwon flusteredly smiled “Thank you, Miss Vice President.”
“Yang Jungwon, what would you be doing without me?” Sunoo smiled, pouring small amounts of tea leaves into the cups, making sure they were even and small amounts. The tea already had a lot of flavors. A punch of bitterness that made sunoo shiver each time she tasted it.
Rich people, they all have the same taste buds. Like that one time, she took Jungwon to eat corndogs. The younger had never seen such a thing, she thought she was supposed to eat the stick as well.
“I’d probably have a boyfriend,”
“Don’t blame your love life on me!”
“That one time at the park-”
“You never get tired of talking huh.” Sunoo groaned and poured the hot water into the cups. She had prepared twelve, knowing they may have more members in this school. The Headmistress did warn that they had over thirty boys in the council, some as ghost members so they might not attend. As Well as how some of them may not because they're regular members.
“Nope, I live to nitpick at all your regrets.” Jungwon popped a mint candy into her mouth, smiling as she finally was able to connect her computer to the projector.
“Wah, I can’t wait to graduate and leave you behind”
“You can't! I can’t like without you!”
“I’ll leave for Australia.”
“You know I’m afraid of kangaroos!”
“Excuse me.” A knock was heard from the wide-open door.
Both girls turned towards the door in sync, surprised to see a handsome boy with pearly white teeth, giving them a wide smile. Maybe this school isn’t that bad, Sunoo thinks to herself. From now on she expects nice and good-looking guys like this.
“Hello.” Jungwon stood up from her spot on the chair, hiding her candy under her tongue, and bowing slightly. She was guessing this guy was the president. His presence was astonishing.
“Hello.” Sunoo added a bit right after, giving the boy a smile. Oh god, Was he going to think she's a whore? Calm down, Sunoo, You’re getting so far to conclusions. Get your own head on straight, you have a meeting to do.
“Oh, You’re that girl from earlier.”
“What...”
Fuck.
She was left dumbfounded, her mouth widened a bit, looking over at Jungwon in a bit of a shocked state. That’s when it hit her, the whole school was probably talking about falling and busting her ass. Oh god, was he laughing at her, was he laughing because she fell. What if someone took a video? What if she flashed her panties even though she has safety shorts on. As that one guy said, anything could happen, she makes sure to leave the house with shorts but what if this time, oh god she’s going to panic-.
“Yeah,” The smiling boy let out a small laugh “You were the girl Sunghoon hit with the ball, I hope you’re okay, It really looked like it hurt.”
“Yeah, no shit.”
“I’m
Oh, So he was his friend. That meant he was probably playing with them. That means he was part of the soccer ball accident, oh holy Jungwon help her. Why do all the cute guys have to see her embarrass herself like this?
What if he was an asshole too? Maybe he wasn’t, he doesn’t seem like it. But it could be his smile distracting her from his evilness. What if he hits her with a baseball? Oh, Does Sunoo have a fear of balls? What kind of phobia is that?
“Ballsohphobia?” Sunoo was mumbling to herself, spacing out, her eyes to the floor, looking completely out of it.
“I’m sorry.” The boy laughed nervously, looking at Sunoo and back at Jungwon.
“Oh, I’m sorry for her, It must’ve been the- the hit.” Jungwon ran over to Sunoo, placing her hands on her shoulders and shaking her a bit out of her state.
“Mm. Maybe. I’m Heeseung by the way.” Heeseung walked into the room fully now, giving them another charming smile “I’m the president of the student council.”
“The Vice President is coming through.” Jay slides in, bumping into Heeseung slightly” Jay, The one and only.”
“Jay, Don’t embarrass yourself.”
“I won’t embarrass myself.” Jay cracked a smile, hitting Heeseung softly on the back, turning to look at the guests “Hi-”
Jay stopped for a moment. The invisible cat in the room got his tongue as soon as he saw her. His smile he once put on now had fallen. She was really pretty. Whoever the girl was, the one who was behind her friend, now giving him an awkward smile. Her eyes are so round and pretty- nope he just got out of a relationship, it’s just his mind trying to look for a replacement.
“Oh, Hey.” Jungwon smiled at him as well, a bit weirded out by the sudden entrance but she still laughed.
But why does looking at her make his heart pound? Was he diabetic, because she seems to be too sweet for her own good. She laughed at his joke. Not even his friends laugh at most of his jokes. Or anyone that he’s ever dated, which is a little higher.
“Wait, pretend you never saw that.” Jay cleared his throat, reaching out his hand for a proper handshake “Hello, I am Jay.”
Jay was disrupted by being pulled by his collar, stumbling backward.
“This is our vice president, Jay.” Heeseung explained embarrassingly, secretly smacking the back of Jay’s head. Yes, it is embarrassing to meet someone new that is important and having your friend, that's supposed to be your partner, coming in and immediately start flirting with whoever they were meeting with.
But, Heeseung, how did you know he was going to start flirting? Well, this is NOT their first rodeo. He brought Jay once as a third wheel once, you could only guess what happened next that afternoon. He also took Jay to a family party once. He lost him about an hour and found him with his cousin making out in the basement. Oh, and that time he almost started to flirt with Heeseung’s housekeeper. SHE WAS THIRTY-SEVEN. The man always just goes out for what his smelly little heart desires.
“Yeah, he said that when he came in.” Jungwon’s face was way too expressive, you can see the pure awkwardness form her fake smile.
“Jungwon, I think I’m going to die.” Sunoo whispered to her worried friend, still leaning onto the younger, herself being worried about being posted onto multiple sites. What if someone did record it? She’d be a laughing stock. The butt of the Joke.
“You’re fine.” Junwgon replied sharply, standing her upright.
“Fine, As long as you don’t do it again.” Jake whispered back to Sunghoon, walking into the room with Sunghoon's arm over his shoulder.
“Mhm, You know I won’t-” Sunghoon let out a small chuckle, following the older into the room. Sunghoon’s smile didn’t follow him in though, immediately retracting as soon as she saw her, the girl they met during lunch.
“Oh, It’s the pretty girl.”
You see, You should never compliment Sunoo when you first meet her. If she doesn’t know you well, she will become the shyest person on the planet. Like seriously, she will try and ignore eye contact for an hour before she’s mentally capable. Her cheeks will become Rosie and she will smile like she never smiled before. Her heart, it’s doing that dumb thing again as if it’s about to run out of her chest.
Jake was playing a very dangerous game here with her heart.
“Pretty girl? The one with the short hair.” Sunghoon let’s go off Jake's shoulder, completely ignoring what he and Jake were talking about on their way over here. Which was to stop shitting on people that had nothing to do with Jake’s love life trauma. This was including Sunoo, especially how they’ve both met this girl like an hour ago.
But there was something about her that made Sunghoon want to annoy the shit of the girl. He will admit, the soccer ball thing was his fault, it was the common mistake of falling and kicking the ball in the wrong direction. But Sunghoon did mean it when he found it funny.
It was something in him that clicked when she scoffed at him. Who would’ve known? Maybe he does like it when people hate him. Maybe he does mind. But whatever this girl was on, he liked. Not in an attractive way, more like I wanna see how much I can annoy you.
That was one long awkward silence. Jungwon left with no words. Sunoo looked at Sunghoon as if she were close to punching the taller one in his face. Jake looked uncomfortable and pretty disappointed at Heeseung over the other two. Jay looked at Heeseung because he didn’t know what to do in this situation. Heeseung made a fist because he just got the two to make up in the hallway.
“Oh, Well we should stop this conversation here.” Heeseung laughed awkwardly. Just like the atmosphere. Awkward and tense. Heeseung felt like he was a sim, that’s how very tense he felt, you know when you check their mood thing and it says VERY TENSE.
Jungwon made an agreeing sound.
The air, it was so thick of embarrassment.
“We should sit, and start.” Sunoo’s annoyed face changed instantly, turning into a forced smile. She’s too perfect to get mad. Her mother once said, nobody’s perfect. Yeah so original mom. She was perfect. She’s just kidding of course but she has to at least put up with that mole jerk so Jungwon’s plan wouldn’t fail.
Oh, the things she did for her best friends.
“Oh, That’s right.” Heeseung looks over at the boys, giving them a head nod to go choose a seat.
Now, the meeting table was pretty long. It held around fourteen chairs. Six on each of the horizontal sides and two on the vertical. So choosing seats shouldn’t be that hard, right? Right? It’s not like they’re picking soulmates or anything.
Jungwon was about to reach for one of the chairs on the horizontal side before the chair was seemingly stolen from her. Well not stolen, but it was pulled away from the table ever so slightly.
“Here, My Lady.” Jay almost sang out his heart, hands on the top of the blue chair, waiting for it to get sit on.
Jungwon knew this boy had something off to him. But don’t knock it till you try it- She won’t knock him. In her opinion, if she does get close with this boy, they’ll most likely go as far as just friends. But she still couldn’t get a little bit happy she’s at least getting noticed.
Despite what her relatives tell her, Jungwon was always confident that she had a common face. Her eyes, her nose, and mouth were always something her whole town talked about, but Jungwon couldn’t help but categorize it as simple. She always knew she blended into the crowd a little too well. It goes the same with boys and girls, though she’s had a crush on a few, not many liked her face.
“Thank You.” Jungwon gave Jay a smile.
Heeseung swears he could hear Jay’s normally crumpled heart start to form again. That fool, he gets his heart broken one second and then gets it repaired a second later. Hee could only hope it wasn’t like the other times when the boy gets bored and leaves instead.
“You’re welcome.” In Jay’s head, he was singing and dancing to ``I will always love you ``by Whitney Houston over a rainbow in a plow of flowers. Is this what true love feels like? Was it finally over, has he met her soulmate?
“It’s been five minutes.” Heeseung whispered to him, choosing the seat on the vertical angle.
“What-” Jay was frozen in place, blinking without a single actual thought in his mind. Could he read his mind?
“Yes, I can.”
“Huh- shut the fuck up you’re messing with me.” Jay whispered harshly at the older, rolling his eyes when the older began to laugh softly with Jake. Jay shook his head, turning to take a seat but saw that it already had been taken.
Sunoo was quick to take her seat next to Jungwon before Jay could. Sunoo was a good friend, you see. She doesn’t put her friends in uncomfortable situations. Get yourself a friend like Sunoo. She would protect you from people who smelled like fried chicken, no offense to Jay.
Jay was quick to take the hint, something he doesn’t take often, and decides on sitting across from Jungwon. Yeah, this could work just as fine.
Junngwon doesn’t think so, she already felt his eyes piercing into her skull.
“I’ll take this one.” Jake placed his hand on one of the chairs that were vertical, which by the way. Surprise, surprise, it was the one right next to sunoo, in the corner of the table.
Sunoo felt her heart pitter-patter when Jake smiled at her. Of course, like all good things in life, her happiness didn’t last long. Because fate told her to fuck off with two middle fingers in the air. Who was the fate in question, you may ask? The one and only son of a bitch, Sunghoon.
Jake was a bit shocked when he felt hands over his, looking over to his best friend grabbing the chair as well.
“What-”
“Let me take this chair.” Sunghoon murmured, the chair basically his already. You may be asking, Sunghoon, why do you want the chair when you don’t even like her. Let Jake have a chance.
It’s because he likes the drama he creates.
“Dude, there’s another one here.” Jay pats the seat next to him, looking at the two best friends.
“Yeah go to that one.” Jake muttered, looking over at the chair next to Jay and back to Sunghoon. Sunghoon could spot the bit of annoyance in Jake’s eyes, clearly asking Sunghoon to step away from the chair. But Sunghoon doesn’t give up without a fight.
“It’s by the air conditioner, you know I don’t like the cold.”
“Since when, You’ve liked cold all your life.”
“Who said that?”
“Sunghoon, You literally do Ice Skating for a hobby.”
“Exactly, What happens if I get sick, Then I can’t skate or come to school, have your pick.”
“Fine.” Jake sighed as he let go of the chair, making his way next to Jay. Sunoo mentally sighed, her little emotions slamming their heads on that stupid emotion controller, like from the movie inside out. It was like that movie but ten times worse, cause the only emotions controlling her were anything but the yellow one.
“Thank You.” Sunghoon scorned, pulling the chair and sitting his ass on it, Like if he was actually proud of winning this seat. That came with no award.
“So, While we wait for our principal.” Heeseung started off another topic for the conversation “How was your guy’s day? Was the trip here hard?”
“Oh, no not really, our school is nearby is actually nearby, that’s why our headmistress picked this place, but we did have to carry our stuff because…” Sunghoon began to tune out Jungwon, guessing the girl was about to go into her whole life story. Besides, something else is interesting to him. Someone, to be exact.
“ Hi. ” Sunghoon turned to look at Sunoo who just played with her nails.
Sunoo didn’t respond. Was she supposed to? She’s still mad as fuck because her side still hurts like hell. Besides, the line on her fresh nails was bugging her, she just had them done last week, a cute clear design with strawberries and flowers.
“ Wow, you’re so rude to me. ” Sunghoon whispered to her, putting a hand on his chest, pretending to be hurt by her cold actions towards him. It wasn’t even cold, just plain rude, or at least to him.
“ You’re the rude one here. ” Sunoo spoke out, squinting her eyes at him. Sunghoon found her to look like a small rat.
“ How could you say that to me? ”
“ You don’t know when to stop, do you? ” Sunoo whispered back, making sure the others were still having their own conversation.
“ What do you mean? I’m just trying to be nice ” Sunghoon put on an act, pretending to be completely oblivious to the girl’s tone.
“ You’re unbelievable, ” Sunoo scoffed. “ You really don’t remember what happened outside? It’s your fault after all. ”
“ No, what happened? ” Sunghoon tilted his head in confusion.
“ I’m starting to believe you hit me on purpose. ” Sunoo sighed, going back to her nails.
“ I didn’t, it hit you by fate. ” Sunghoon stated. He believes it was one of the dumbest things he has ever said. But Sunoo seems like the kind of person who likes this kind of stuff, well guessing by the way she was gazing into Jake’s eyes when she fell. It looked like she really thought it was love at first sight.
“ Don’t make me laugh, ” Sunoo was pretty much over with it “ How do you call a ball hitting your face destiny? You must be out of your mind if you think of such a thing. ”
“ You never know, I met Jay when I hit him with a chair to his ankle. ”
So all of them were friends. Does that mean all of them to have the same personality? That shouldn't work, does it? It does back in her school. Usually, the bitchy girls hang out with the bitchy girls. The nice girls hang out with nicer girls. Or normally other girls adapt to the personalities of others to get around. And occasionally you’ll find friends who are opposites of each other, like her seniors Taehyun and Beomgyu. But also, Her and Jungwon.
But the Heeseung guy doesn’t seem bad at all. He was extremely nice, and he seemed playful. And that Jay guy seemed a bit goofy telling by the stunts he pulled with Jungwon. And Jake, Jake seemed almost too good to be true. He was the only one who tried to help her (besides Jungwon but she’s her best friend so it doesn't count). And his hand, though it was a bit rough, felt nice in her own.
It felt like a hand you walk down the aisle- what the fuck WAS SHE THINKING ABOUT? She means she’s not ready to get married but if that man plopped down on his knee she would say yes before he can even take out the ring. Did she sound desperate? Yes. Was she desperate? Also Yes.
“ Destiny can only happen to soulmates. ” Sunoo shrugged one of her shoulders, looking at Sunghoon in all seriousness. She was pretty confident in this kind of stuff.
“ But you just said- ”
“ No, I said a ball hitting someone, that doesn’t count as romantic at all.”
“ Ah then I lost my shot. ” Sunghoon sighed, shaking his head as he held his hand to his chest, it was truly heartbreaking.
“ You’re crazy. ” Sunoo rolled her eyes. He seemed to get even more annoying the more she talked to him. Maybe she should stop before she does develops true hatred towards the other.
“ Crazy for you, maybe. ”
“ I take that back, You’re completely out of your mind. ”
“ Like you, for Jake. ”
Sunghoon smiled a little once he saw her cheeks turn a bit pink, watching her as she flusteredly looked at the table. Jay now is the one who seemed to be rambling on and on, that’s good, he has a few more minutes before he has to get back into the group talk.
“ Shut up. ” Sunoo cleared her throat softly, pulling a strand of her long hair behind her ear. She feels embarrassed, her cheeks turn red way too easily. Curse her insanely good-looking genes, they’re the cause of why she’s like this.
“ Listen, I’m his best friend, I know what he likes, you have a chance ” Sunghoon was lying. But what she doesn’t know wont hurt her. She had zero chance with his bestie.
It was true. Sunghoon was Jake’s best friend. He knows everything about the Australian boy, from the boxers he wears in the mornings to what his dad’s schedule is for the whole week. There’s not anything that Jake could hide from him. And what he does know, Is that Jake is trying to fall in love with this girl.
Of course, He knows Jake has been trying to do this for a long time now. Not with sunoo, but with multiple girls. For complete reasons, he’s not allowed to speak of, but just knows it’s all for good intentions. Well, not good intentions because Jake is trying to force himself like someone for the second time in his life.
Sunghoon still has no idea why Jake had an interest In her. In the hallway, He told him the reason was that he liked the way her hand felt. He also added to the fact that she was really pretty when she smiled at him. What a bunch of bullshit. He doesn’t believe a troll like this could ever smile at anyone. Look at her, She’s been mugging him since the minute he stepped in. There’s nothing attractive about her anyways.
He has to give credit to Jake. Because even after talking to her again, he sees nothing attractive about her. Maybe it’s because he has a high standard ideal type, but the way she is, in general, isn’t as lovely as Jake described. The best way he could describe her would be: difficult to work with or very unpleasant.
“ I don’t need your help for anything. ” Sunoo gave him a fake smile, holding her face in her hands like a golden prize “ I have everything I need here. ”
And maybe, just a little too cocky.
“ That’s not much. ” Sunghoon looked at her in disgust.
“ It’s enough. ” Sunoo smiled at him, well pretending to. It’s more of a ‘leave me alone now bitch’.
“ What do you think he likes-”
“Sunghoon, We’re talking.” Heeseung finally disrupts Sunghoon from continuing to talk, everyone now looking at them for having a whispered argument.
“Shit, My bad.” Sunghoon smiled at Jungwon, who smiled back, rolling his chair from angled to straight.
“Shall we start the meeting? I don’t think our Headmistress is coming soon?” Sunoo stated, sitting up on her chair. She looked over at Jungwon, who then looked at Heeseung to see what he would say. It is his council room, afterall.
“Yeah, We should. We have an assembly during our sixth hour we have to attend.” Heeseung smiled at the two in front of him, nodding his head in approval.
“Mistress?” Jay whispered to himself, trying to hold into his laughter from laughing out loud. He can’t have the mind of a thirteen year old right now, he’s trying to impress the girl in front of him.
“Oh that’s right” Jungwon goes stiff, turning quickly to Sunoo “The assembly, I forgot about that.”
“Oh, are you doing the assembly?” Jake raised a brow.
“Yes,” Jungwon laughed nervously, holding her hands on her lap, twirling her fingers to kind of forget about it “I’m just a little nervous about it.”
“Ah, You should, I’ve had to do it before, It was so scary, There’s so many students that come here, and all of them have mean sharp eyes.” Jay sighed, putting his hand on his chest as he shook his head. He has, in front of all of the boys earlier this year when Heeseung was taking a leave of absence. It was scary because he met eyes with everyone and their second cousin. He could feel shivers go down his spine.
“Shut up dumbass.” Jake whispered hardly to Jay.
Sadly, his words had way too much impact on her. He opened his eyes to see that Jungwon was completely shocked in fear. What happened, wasn’t his story funny? Why was she scared?
“Ah,” Sunoo panicked a bit, putting a hand on Jungwon’s back to make her calm down a bit “Let’s start the meeting then, The faster we finish the faster you guys can go back.”
‘Yes… the meeting.” Jugwon was kind of staring off into the table now. She was out of it. How was she going to talk to the whole school? She could barely do her own, oh this was a little too stressful for now. Nope, no they need their council approval first. She’s got this! She’s Yang Jungwon, Student President of Belift Academy.
“Let’s start!” Jungwon seemed a bit more hyped, slamming her hands on the table and standing up.
“That was so sudden.” Sunghoon was a bit startled, his eyes following her. Heeseung nodded his head in agreement, also left a little startled by the sudden energy the girl was giving.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know why I got up.” Jungwon sat back down, clearing her throat and looking over at Sunoo, kinda signaling her to grab the snacks they prepared. “Shall we start with names? We just met each other now, and I have a feeling we’ll be working together soon too.”
Sunoo rolled away from the table, getting up from her chair and walking over to the small table where she left all of her preparations. She was glad Jungwon hyped herself up. She does it normally, and randomly. Sunoo just hopes it lasts long, so she doesn’t have to manually hype her up before the assembly.
“Ah, You’re right.” Heeseung was a bit confused on what she said they would be working together. But he guesses he has to start the meeting to figure it out.
“Here you guys go. ” Sunoo smiled at the group, placing a plate on a neatly placed macaroon on a gorgeous looking plate.
The guy's eyes widened looking at the snack. They were so cute, they had little faces on them that corresponded to their color. Like the choco flavored one had a bear face on it, or the strawberry ones had my melody’s face drawn on (Which Jake thinks he’s going for that one first if you know what he means). They were so cute, a little too cute to eat.
“Oh, Sunoo got these at a cafe she likes, the girls in the academy absolutely love them.” Jungwon explained to them, not expecting them to immediately grab one after they were placed down a few seconds ago “Please… Enjoy yourselves.”
“Wow.” Jake's eyes were almost in heart shapes taking a bite into the cookie. His mouth was filled with the natural taste of a sweet strawberry. He’s going to need the name and address of the cafe immediately, he should buy some for his mom.
“Niki would love these.” Jay said with his mouth full, taking a bite out of a caramel flavored macaroon. He secretly, not really, took a vanilla flavored one, putting it in his pocket to give it to the younger later.
“Nicki? Nicki Minaj?” Jungwon blinks cluelessly.
Heeseung and Jay started to choke on their pastry, Heeseung trying to hold in his laugh he turned around, trying to calm himself down. He tried so hard to keep tears in his eyes, and did his best not to make fun of Jungwon, but it was so hard to not laugh out loud.
“No, Our friend, Niki.” Jake said in between laughs, covering his mouth so he doesn’t drop her cookie “Sorry, I don’t mean to laugh.”
“Oh,” Jungwon nods, finally understanding “Sorry, I thought you were talking about the rappe.”
“Here is the rest.” Sunoo placed another tray, this time filled with nice portion sized cakes, that again, looked way too pretty to eat. Each cake was different, and each one looked too damn good. Jay was ready to smother his face into it. And accompanied it were teacups filled with some good ass smelling tea, like the smell.
Oh yeah, They were going to ask the girls where they got all of this stuff from after the meeting.
“Grab any, Our lunch ladies made them this morning.” Jungwon smiled with pride. She already knows Belift academy has some of the most delicious food, well she herself has ever tasted. They used top quality ingredients, not only on their cakes but in all of their food.
Heeseung and Jay were quick to grab the cakes they wanted, as well as carefully grab the hot cups of tea.
“Don’t mind if I do.” Jake smiled brightly as he grabbed a chocolate cake with white chocolate shavings. He was going to have to workout once he got home.
“Here.” Sunoo grabbed a teacup, holding it’s plate underneath and placing it on the table next to Jake’s plate. Her heart fluttered when Jake gave her a small thank you, flashing her a smile. Was she simping a little too hard? Maybe she was, but who wouldn’t.
“How about me?” Sunghoon tapped his finger to get Sunoo’s attention, raising a brow at the girl. He smiled once he saw her face filled with annoyance.
“What about you?” Sunoo sat back on her chair, rolling into the table and choosing her own cake.
“Some host you are.” Sunghoon shook his head, sighing. What was he, a food critic? He believes he’s Gordon Ramsay or something. He does look like a rat so maybe he’s fucking ratatoullie, she doesn’t even know anymore.
“This is your school.”
“Yeah, I’m also a part of the student council.” Sunghoon scooted over a bit so only she could hear him “ And whatever your plan is with your little girl friend, has to go through me too. ”
Sunoo hit her fist on her own lap, turning to Sunghoon and giving him the fakest smile she could ever do. She got back from her seat, selecting a coffee cake. Nobody likes coffee cake, that’s why she picked it for him, setting it infront of him in the most aggressive way possible. She grabbed the tea as well, not minding if it were to spill all over him.
“Thank you, Sunoo-ssi.” Sunghoon smiled at her, taking a look down at the cake he was chosen to have. He’s not that huge of sweets, so taking a look at it, it could be chocolate. He takes a look over into the teacup.
Fucking shit.
“Tieguanyin?” Sunghoon's face was filled with disgust, looking up at sunoo for an answer. He already knew it, It’s the same shit he smells everyday when he starts to leave for school. The smell absolutely sickened him. It was a fucking stencth that makes him want to throw up.
“Oh, Yeah,” Jungwon butts into their conversation with a smile, her hands on her cup already “One of our headladies has it shipped to our school weekly, the girls back in the academy really love it.”
“Oh really?” Jay looked a bit surprised, dipping his tongue to taste the rich fruity smokey flavor instantly taking over his taste buds. What a strong flavor? It makes him want more.
“Yeah, They usually leave it in the cafeteria or in the student lounge for the students to grab whenever.”
“I hate Tieguanyin,” Sunghoon turned to look at Sunoo, pushing the cup towards her “Get me something else.”
“Excuse me.” Sunoo scoffed at him, finding it unbelievable that he even dared to boss her around. This man has serious balls for even thinking about it.
“ Dude, ” Heeseung whispered over to Sunghoon, bumping his shoulder onto his, implying his calm way of telling him that he’s going a little too far.
‘Your friend’ Sunghoon mouthed towards Sunoo, knowing she would immediately understand. So that’s her weakness. Her Best Friend.
Sunoo gritted her teeth into a smile, laughing softly “Of course.”
Sunoo got up once more. She wonders if anybody would care if he disappeared. Because she’s about to throw him all the way to the US. If even that were to be possible. Sunoo walked over to her bag, popping a squat to look through her bag.
It’s almost like he knew she had a drink in her bag. What she intended to be for her Job well done later when she eats dinner at home. What she pulled out would probably make the whole table laugh, but that was in Sunoo’s worst fears.
“Here.” Sunoo sighed, her hand handing out a Hello Kitty Strawberry Flavored Ramune Soda to Sunghoon.
Sunghoon thinks he finally understood her a bit more. She likes cute things like this. After taking a look at the macaroons with the faces, and the cakes decorated to be as tasteful looking as the ones in commercials and now a drink… with what more sugar? Maybe this girl just has a sweet tooth. Unfortunate for him, he never had any sweets.
“Isn’t this for seven year olds,” Sunghoon raised a brow, “Aren’t you like a high school student?”
“I’ll thank you for him.” Heeseung smiled at sunoo, grabbing Sunghoon’s shoulder and patting it roughly, whispering to him “ Hey, Stop stressing them out .”
“It’s okay.” Sunoo returned the smile to Heeseung, sitting down on her chair, hopefully for the last time today. It’s weird, after talking to Sunghoon, her appetite just poofed away. Maybe if she talks to him long enough her sweets addiction would disappear as well.
“Ah, Anyways, I think you guys should start,” Jungwon said, “We’ll go after.”
“Oh Yeah,” Heeseung nods his head, standing up quickly “My name is Lee Heeseung, I’m a third year student-, I’m the president of the student council and I’m pretty good at video games.”
What.the.fuck.is.this.
Sunoo wasn’t told she had to do a second grade introduction? Normally, In the academy they just state their name and move on.
Jungwon seemed to be just as confused as Sunoo but she decided a bit after to just go with the flow. The short haired smiled kindly, remembering to state her name, age, year, position and what she guesses something they like or they’re good at. This only made Sunoo nervous, she’s not good at many things.
Heeseung knew what he was doing. And he was doing his dumbass friends, Jay mostly, a fucking favor because of course Heeseung has to carry their asses on his back. Not only is he age checking for them, He’s trying to help them understand what the girls like. Again, Mostly Jay, He doesn’t know if Jake was that interested in Sunoo. Or at least he hopes he’s not into her. And Sunghoon, There’s no way, not even in hell, that he would like her.
He’s been eavesdropping a bit. They seemed like polar opposites. Like the sun and moon. He was like winter and she was more like spring. Though he doesn’t know why Sunghoon liked to annoy her this much. He usually tries to annoy someone so they could like him. But in those situations it’s normally Sunghoon taking their bags and holding it high so they could giggle and try and get it back. No, If he did that to Sunoo, She’d probably kick his dick just to get it back.
But by the looks of it, this wasn’t Sunghoon trying to flirt with her. He doesn’t know what he’s trying to do exactly, if he was being honest. It looked more like he was trying to gain an enemy. That was weird to even think about, Sunghoon likes to be liked. He keeps bossing her around and making fun of her- was he bullying her? No, Sunoo doesn’t seem to be the type to put up with it. Then why was she letting him? Did they have a deal?
Maybe he was flirting? No, That’s not the Sunghoon he knows. Even though he’s nice to everyone, he himself has a type. Sunghoon never liked cute girls, nor does Heeseung think he’d ever will. He’s told him before, the day they went on a resort for a boys trip, He told him that he wasn’t into the act mostly, and how nobody was born cute other than Jay. Judging by all the people he has dated, they were mostly all tall, serious or mature, and they were all astonishingly beautiful. Don’t get Heeseung wrong, He found Sunoo really pretty, but considering Sunghoon’s likings he doesn’t believe she could pull him.
But Whatever their deal was, Heeseung doesn’t want to get into it. He was worried for his friend mostly, whatever they had going on seemed to be the start of a badly written love story. Maybe he should introduce Sunoo to Niki, They would seem like a better pair.
“Hello!” Jay stood up from his seat as soon as Heeseung sat back down “My name is Jay, Or Jongseong, whatever fits your tastes. I’m Nineteen, Third Year, I’m the second to our dearest President and I really like to volunteer at animal shelters when I’m not studying.”
So much for Heeseung to save Jay’s ass. Jay must look like a lying dumbass, because he was. Last time he facetimed Jay he was in his infinity pool, having kool-aid brought to him in those little flamingo cup holders. It was a school day, He was supposedly sick that day.
Jay was checking for Jungwon’s reaction, who just smiled and clapped along with the others. There seemed to be nothing to impress her with. It’s fine, he’ll show her his guns later- like in muscles, and by that he means his strength.
“I’m Jake,” Jake stood up a bit cautiously “I'm Eighteen, I’m also a third year, I am the council Secretary and… I have a dog named Layla.”
A dog? No wonder, Sunoo thinks, Jake himself almost captures the image of a puppy. Sunoo never considered herself to be a dog person, she prefers cats over them. Mostly because cats like to lay down with you when you do homeworks and require no effort. Her brother has a dog, and it requires way too much attention. It makes sense, they do seek affection more than cats.
Sunghoon could only make a disgusted face seeing how much a simple fact impressed Sunoo so much. Her smile was so wide, he was sure her cheeks were about to pop any second now.
“Layla? That’s a cute name.” Jungwon said, clapping for his introduction.
“Yeah, she’s a cute dog too.” Jake continued to ramble on about his dog, even pulling out his phone to show off a few videos of her tricks.
“A cute owner too.” Sunoo whispered to herself, looking down to play with her fingernails shyly.
“Wow, You’re so slick.” Sunghoon snorted, finding it hilarious that she had the guts to say that to his own best friend. Well, not really say, She whispered it, He just happened to be close enough to hear her say it.
“Isn’t it your turn?” She glared at him.
“Sunghoon, you can go now.” Heeseung cleared his throat.
“Oh.” Sunghoon got up, slipping his hands into the pockets of his pants “Well, My name is Park Sunghoon, Eighteen. In my last year, the council’s Treasurer, I’m really into...this.” Sunghoon had lifted the bottle of Ramune for everyone to see, shaking it and placing it back down.
He knows what he’s doing. But she won’t give in that easily, she’s not going to let herself get annoyed like how he wants her too. She too can play this game. It’s a single player game but she’s about to make it multiplayer.
“Wow, that’s interesting~” Sunoo said sarcastically and, along with the others, clapped for him. She looked at him with a wide smile. Nobody else caught her tone but the one who it was directed to.
It made something click in Sunghoon. Not in a good way.
He smiled back at her, sitting back onto the chair. He didn’t even like these kinds of drinks. Now he was forcibly making himself take a sip and make it seem like he enjoyed it. He thinks the only nice part is popping the marble out of the way. Other than that, it tasted like sparkling water. Which would be okay if it didn’t have that awful sweet taste it got from all the flavoring.
“So Interesting” He mocked.
“No, It really is” Sunoo turned away from the older, turning to her own president.
“My name is Yang Jungwon,” Jungwon stood up a bit slowly, fixing her skirt so it wouldn’t ride up later “I’m seventeen-”
Jay almost choked on his tea. Turning to the side so he could cough into his elbow. He expected the girl to be a second year at least.
“I’m in my second year of high school-”
Oh thank fucking god.
“I’m the president of the student council, and I really enjoy Taekwondo.” Junwgon finished off with a small smile, sitting back down after hearing the small claps in the room. That was so fucking awkward to her.
“I’m sorry, but you’re the president?” Heeseung had to cut Sunoo off before she could get up, or even speak in this manner, interested in the fact of how young Jungwon was to have such a high position.
“Yeah, this year, and next” Jungwon nods her head. She didn’t understand what was wrong with the fact.
“Aren’t you a little too young?” Jake spoke up, raising a brow.
“Ah,” Jungwon laughed nervously, scratching behind her head in embarrassment “Our nominated president and our vice president got ran over by a car so she had to be hospitalized and it turned out to be our headmistress who did it, but it turns out our president did on purpose because she wanted to sue the school, so the school expelled her and her whole blood line.”
“Oh, that sounds like a fever dream,” Heeseung laughed along with her, taking a sip of his tea. These girls sound fucking crazy.
“It definitely felt like one,” The younger girl said “I was nominated after because… our oldest members were too busy to do it.”
She wasn’t lying. As said earlier, Beomgyu and Taehyun were always busy, too busy to even attend their meetings. They were scheduled to come in but the seniors had to pass the invitations because Taehyun had to study and Beomgyu was going to skip to go to her boyfriend’s dorm room. So Jungwon was elected, she was the only one running that day. It was sad, but at least Jungwon does a good Job at doing her Job.
She deserves a sticker for that.
“But you look older than her,” Jay pointed at Sunoo, “Am I wrong? Does my agedar deceive me?”
“No, I’m older by a few months but were in the same year.”
“Ah, Sunoo Unnie, it’s your turn,” Jungwon pitched in, stopping the girl from spoiling half of her introduction.
“My name is Kim Sunoo.” The bright-eyed girl was the last one to go, she wanted to make it as quick as possible “I’m Eighteen years old, I’m a second year student, I am the second to the president, and I…”
Sunoo forgot what she was supposed to say next. Oh she was a fucking idiot, what was she supposed to say next? Anything she says she likes to do, she’d get made fun of. She likes to watch Kdramas… but what if they ask her which ones? What if she says her family owned a restaurant? No, they’d ask her which one, they’d make fun of her for sure.
She swears her mind is going blank.
No, It’s okay Sunoo. She’s going to know these boys for the upcoming months and after that she’ll ever meet them again. It should all be fine, if they make fun of her, that’s okay. This is a one time thing, she shouldn’t be overthinking like this. Calm down girl, you got this-.
“Ah, Sunoo is really good at aegyo.”
What…
Did she take long to answer? Did Jungwon think she needed help coming up with something? Why would she say such a thing? Yes, she’s been told she’s good at acting cute but never in a million years would she do it in front of a bunch of people she didn’t know, especially with Jake around.
“Oh, Really?” Heeseung seemed a bit more interested, putting his chin on his fist.
“Mhm, she always warms our seniors' hearts! She’s really good at it!” Jungwon was basically bragging at this point. Jay noticed how much her eyes lit up talking about her friend like this. It was cute. She seems so excited to show off her friend’s skills.
It was not cute to Sunoo. You remember when she saved Jungwon’s ass so she wouldn't have to sit next to a man? Sunoo is such a good friend. How did she end up with a friend like Jungwon? She knows the younger means the best, but she didn't mean it liked this. What was going through her head? She’s going to embarrass herself.
Oh she’s going to go nuts. Completely insane. Bonkers, if you will.
“Ah, you should do bbuing bbuing, the girls back at the academy love that one.” Jungwon placed her fist on her cheeks to reference the cutie action. She wasn’t doing it as overexaggerated as Sunoo does it, but she was trying at least.
Jay thinks cupid’s arrow struck his heart. A single shot was able to fill his heart with love. He wanted to hide in his hands and squeal, but doing so would result in major embarrassment. Talking about second hand embarrassment, Heeseung was cringing at Jay’s face soley after she did the aegyo.
“Yeah, Kim Sunoo, You got this.” Sunghoon put up his two fists as a supporting pose.
Sunoo wanted to die. She really wanted to just pass out on the floor and just get out of the position from what she was. She forgot Sunghoon was next to her. She's not going to hear the end of it. If she’s annoyed by him now, god knows what he would do to get her riled up. She could feel their eyes on her. Why did Jake look so interested in her doing it? What if he cringes once she does it?
The way Jungwon is looking at her is going to kill her as well. She’s looking at her with the expectation she would do it. She knew Jungwon liked her acting cute, even though she pretends to cringe out of all of the girls. It’s not that she likes it, but they use it to their advantage when they go out. Do you know how many free side dishes they got last time they went out to eat? Jungwon went home that way, almost falling asleep because of how full she was.
This is it, this is where she was going to die as a teen. Died too young for comfort. There were many things she wanted to do in life. She wanted to have a partner. She also wanted to at least have gotten married. She also wanted to see Day6 perform live but no Yang Jungwon put her in the spot for this one.
“Oh, No, Do Ddeuno, Ddeuno is cuter!”
“Ddeuno?” Jake chirped in, tilting his head like a lost puppy.
“It’s an aegyo name, it’s like she’s saying sunoo but cuter.”
She was going to die on the spot. How is her cheeks not heating up, maybe they are. Maybe they’re too red for her to even notice. Oh how she wished her headmistress would come in and steal the show. Maybe she could wait for her. No, she was sure she was out there trying for her second child with the school principal. How do things come to this?
Why is she standing in front of these people she has never met before? Only her mother knows why. Because Jungwon wanted her to be there with her. The same Jungwon who put her in the awkward position was also the one that happened to embarrass herself in front of strangers. Now she hopes the boys would say no to their idea. So she won't have to see them ever again.
No, She’s not that kind of friend. No matter how embarrassed she gets, she won’t let that get in between Jungwon and her great Ideas. Jungwon was doing this for the school and the girls at the academy. The younger one just wants everyone to have a good time. And Kim Sunoo was standing in front of it. No, she can do it. She’s sure she’s going to have to do worse stuff than act cute in front of them.
Like getting ran over by a car. No, that may be even better than this.
Don’t think like that, Kim Sunoo. You gots this. You’re a strong woman and you’re doing this for your best friend. You got this. How long has it been could she go home now- It’s felt like hours and it’s only been, fuck, fifteen minutes.
“Hi, I’m Ddeuno,” Sunoo’s voice was a bit higher than normal, talking in a more babyish accent rather than a teenager. Both of her hands were then placed on each cheek, as she smiled and closed her eyes shut, she had to forcibly let out the next words. “Get ready to dive into my appeal!”
There was no silence afterwards, only a string of tiny screams. How good, just made her feel better didn’t it. It did not. She had to open her eyes to see Jay stare at Jungwon, While Jungwon giggled and hid her face in her hands. Of course she liked it. She loves to see Sunoo flustered like this.
Heeseung let out small laughs, hiding his face in his arms, looking back up to give her a bit of an approval smile.
“That was pretty cute.”
Oh god now she really was going to die. Yang Jungwon that fucking bastard!
“Yeah, that was good, you’re really cute.” With one look, Jake made Sunoo almost explode on the spot. How the hell was she going to calm down with a handsome person like that who complimented her? Oh god, she was blushing wasn’t she.
She was quick to sit back down on her seat. It was cute? She’s heard that before but hearing it come out of him was different. She liked it. She liked the feeling, just a small bit. She could feel her heart thumping out of her chest, begging to get out so it could take a look at Jake up close. No, All Sunoo could do was describe his visuals and kindness to her heart.
It wasn’t as bad of a reaction as she thought. She wasn’t going to die, she was just exaggerating. Look, nobody is judging her that hard, or are they? Were they just being nice?
“ I won’t ” The body next to her just had to say, obviously applying to Sunoo’s fact. She forgot he was still in the room “ That was hard to look at. ”
Be nice, Kim Sunoo. Stay calm for Jungwon.
All Sunoo could do was smile and laugh at the boy, well laughing at his joke. She wishes she had the guts to laugh at his face. Make him realize that who he was messing with wasn’t exactly the nicest person in the world.
“ We’ll see about that, '' Sunoo whispered to him, getting up and from the chair.
All Sunghoon could do is scoff at her response, turning his chair to face where she was walking to.
“Ah, Junwgon, You should get the presentation ready.” Sunoo tapped Jungwon’s shoulder, leaving to go grab the sign stand from the side, where it was hiding from all of them all this time.
“Oh, That’s right.” The younger girl stood up from her chair, running towards the projector. She turned it on but kept a small piece of cloth on top of it. She was trying to do kind of a surprise, like a magic trick of sorts.
Sunoo held the stand until Jungwon looked ready, standing next to her.
There was a bit of an awkward silence from the moment Jungwon stayed still, counting her fingers and by the time she moved over to stand next to Sunoo. She helped the older girl turn the stand over to show off her beautiful masterpiece of a sign.
“Uhm… Okay,” Jungwon whispered to herself, clearing her throat to kind of get ready “Have you guys noticed what our school’s have been missing?”
The guys were still pretty quiet, not in a bad way but more like they were thinking about it.
“Charity work?” Jay raised his hand as he spoke to get her attention. He wasn't wrong, the school didn’t require any of the boys to do work out of their own time.
“No, but you guys don’t have to do work in general?” Sunoo was a bit shocked. She’s going to make a big complaint later, because she can’t handle walking Mrs.Kim’s dogs every tuesday anymore, they always pull her if she’s walking too slow. Dogs, she really doesn’t like them. Well some of them.
“Mmm, girl bathrooms.” Jake answered.
“No, but you guys need some,” Jungwon responded.
Thankfully, they have some public bathrooms across the street, but Jungwon would rather hold it than run across the street and get run over. That’d be embarrassing.
“Big events!” Jungwon shook her hands, waiting for Sunoo to turn off the stand to show off her artwork.
‘The Grand Winterball of 2021’ was written across the board with red markers, followed by yellow glitter that decorated around it. Tiny stick people were displayed in the bottom in a very, questioning manner. It was definitely no mona lisa painting for sure.
“The Grand Winterball?” Sunghoon read the sign, raising an eyebrow. Didn’t seem to be so grand pending on the style the board was decorated like. It had character, that’s how nice he’s going to be about it.
“The Grand winter ball!” Jungwon nods her head “Think about it, A big event students can look up to! Something so people can finally dress up and throw away their uniforms. A fancy night under the snow, if you will. I believe both parties can be excited about this.”
“I like it, already.” Jay pitched in, nodding his head. Of Course he did, not because he wanted to go with Jungwon. Nah, that was the second reason.
The only big event they have in this school was the sports events. Although it’s fun, it’s placed in the beginning of the year. There wasn’t anything else to be excited for. He was pretty on board with the idea, it’d be nice to start a new school tradition.
The only thing he’s wondering is how the hell they’re going to get both schools to come together.
“Me too.” Heeseung looked pretty impressed. Not so much of the Poster, But of the Idea. He already has someone in mind to ask, and hopefully he’d say yes. And hopefully he won’t stand him up like last time.
“Keep going, How will it work?”
By how Sunghoon was looking at the piece of board, He didn’t seem too interested in the Idea.
“Well, You see here Mr.Park,” Junwgon walked over to pull the cover that stopped the projector from doing its job, her hand presenting the pictures on the slide “We’ll have two other smaller separate events that can get the students closer! Everyone gets closer and maybe they can go in couples!”
“I love this idea, I think we should say yes.”
Smooth one Jay, very smooth, Heeseung thought to himself.
“What are the events? It may be hard. Teens tend to get awkward around large groups of people they don’t know.” Jake said, writing down the things the girl said down on his notebook, he’d say he liked the idea, but there were somethings that troubled him a little “What will happen if they don’t get close enough in the events? What if someone doesn’t have a date before the time comes?”
Sunoo was a bit surprised at how worried Jake seemed to be. He didn’t seem to be that kind of type. She was also surprised to see how handsome he was jotting things down, looking so smart and educated. Does she have a type now? Is that what’s happening?
“Well the first one I believe should be a-” Jungwon took a pause and ran to her computer, clicking the space bar to change the slide, showing pictures of kids playing soccer, some of them running and some playing tug-a-war “- a field day!”
“A field day?” Heeseung raised a brow, still chewing through his cake “How would that work?”
“Ah, We’ll have color teams, the morning of each student will have randomly choose a bandana from a box, and whichever color that bandana is the color they will be teamed with,” Junwgon clicked for the other side “And then those teams will be competing with each other, it’ll be co-ed games too, therefore everyone can participate.”
“What kind of games? We already had a field day earlier this year. Will this be different? We don’t want our boys to get bored.” Sunghoon chirped. Of course he did.
“Uhm, Like these.” Jungwon pointed to the pictures “Team Building sports like these could help get the students loosened up a bit, hopefully. The head ladies want to participate as well, so we might have teacher coaches per color.”
“Ooh, That’s why Mr.Jeon was excited about this.” Jake nodded his head in understandment, remembering how the teacher kept giving hints of sport related things.
“Yes! Since the event takes up a whole day as well, the school told us we could put in some event in between resting time. So like a water park or a petting zoo, something like that.” Jungwon pressed the button again.
“That sounds fun.” Heeseung looked more interested now. He was before, but that inflated water course looked intriguing.
“Through the events too, teams will receive points, and at the end they will get declared as the winners.” Jungwon changed the slide again, showing a kid in a crown.
“What’s rewarded?”
“That’s… still in the works.” Sunoo pitched in, laughing nervously. In her mind, She was thinking about just giving the group a snack. But she’s been totaling the amount of students per group, and it seemed pretty impossible.
“The second big event we were thinking of would be more of a carnival style” Jungwon said “Of course we can’t replicate a whole amusement park, but there are some rides we can include, like a ferris wheel, or smaller rides that are portable.”
“Wouldn’t that take up space?” Jay raised a brow, a bit confused on how bringing so much stuff would work.
“Yeah, would it be spread out?” Jake asked.
“Our academy has a large ground, we’ve done the math already with our head ladies, It’s possible to fit in,” Jungwon nods. “We’ve also decided on having game stands and food stands. You know, to give it that full carnival feel.”
“I’m getting sold already.”
“And we finally have our final big event, which is the winter ball.” Junwgon clicked on the keyboard again, leading the guys to gasp.
“ Hey, you’re better at designing on computers than in real life .” Sunoo turned to Junwgon.
“ I don’t like it much, ” Junwon whispered back.
The scene was breathtaking. Junwgon worked with some of the artsy students to create a semi realistic portrait of how the ball would look. It looks almost like royalty. Like if Disney were to put together a winter ball. The amount of decorations made it look so magical. There were crystal snowflakes, and fake icicles, and not to forget the dazzling christmas tree. The room looked white, but not in an unsettling way. The fairy lights made it look so much more cozy. The hints of blue were just outstanding too, as well as the peekaboos of gold here and there.
It was really magical looking.
But Sunoo was more fixated on the dress the girl in the front was wearing. It was so pretty, Sunoo only hoped it was real. Even if it was, Sunoo wouldn't mind spending her savings on it. Maybe she would, if it cost more than a thousand dollars of course.
“It contains dinner first and then dancing,” Jungwon continued to taked their gaze off the painting “And at the end of the night, an ice king and queen will be announced. What do you guys think? Will it be fun?”
“I like it, a lot actually,” Heeseung smiled at the two girls. “It does sound like a lot of fun. We could use it, the guys might even be excited for it.”
“They’ll be over the hills! About time the virgins- I mean guys, will have a splendid time with some ladies or with each other. You know, It’ll be a great festive celebration.” Jay caught himself before he let his dirty mouth ramble on. He did not want to seem like an asshole if he’s already planning on asking Jungwon out for the dance.
“I mean, I like it.” Jake looked over at the two, placing his pen down. His eyes flew over to look at Sunoo, giving her a warm smile “It gives students a chance to get close to people, who knows, maybe they can even find soulmates.”
Nobody but Sunoo was able to catch that compliment, The rest continued to have their conversation about the fancy events. Now was the time she could physically feel her cheeks turn red. How many times has she blushed now? It feels like it’s too many to count. Or humanly impossible.
If Sunoo was honest. She may even be exaggerating a bit, but there’s a gut feeling in her stomach. It could be the subway sandwich she had for lunch, but a feeling that makes her want to google in nervousness. Maybe it’ll sound better if she words it like butterflies in her stomach.
She knows she hasn't been flirted on a lot, but this seemed a bit different. Even though it’s only been hours since she met him. She can’t help but feel that Jake may feel the same way too. Maybe she was delusional.
Jake sent a sweet smile her way, before looking back down to reread his notes.
Holy fuck, Sunoo is delusional. She’s out of her fucking mind. Why the fuck did her stomach fucking flip oh god- was this a sign of her dying? About fucking time.
“We were thinking of having it be December 23rd.” Jungwon rambled on.
“Oh so like, Two months from now?” Heeseung raised a brow, a bit shocked by the small time limit that was given “That’s a bit short to plan everything, don’t you think? Not to mention that we may not even have time after school to make meetings and such.”
“Well we were thinking of taking meetings during lunch time, your principal said it was fine for you guys to miss your fifth period as well. Besides, there should be a lot of people on the project. It shouldn’t be that hard.”
“I love this whole Idea, Let’s skip Fifth hour.” Jay sounded amused, clasping his hands together and rubbing it like if he were a fly.
“I don’t know, I kinda like math.” Heeseung hummed, placing a hand on his chin.
“You just like seeing Mr. Oh’s ass-” Jake was quick to slap his hand over Jay’s mouth.
‘Ass? Do you mean assets?” Jungwon blinked, pretty confused on who this Mr.Oh was.
Jay almost flipped himself over his chair. He needs to watch his fucking mouth, espeacially from lauging at loud. She might think that he’s making fun of her, that’s literally the last way you should flirt with a girl.
“No, I mean, uhm- Heeseung, what’d ya say?” Jay changed the subject, scratching the side of his head awkwardly “No more math tests and stuff!”
“We’ll still have to catch up, dumbass. ” Heeseung whispered that last part to him, laughing a bit afterwards “I mean I guess, We’ll see if Niki can too.”
“That means Mr President is in!” Jay smiled at Jungwon, who Just seemed to smile at Sunoo. He’s not jealous of Sunoo… He was just sad that he didn;t have Jungwon’s attention at the moment.
“ See, I told you they’d like it. ” Sunoo shimmied her shoulders at Jungwon, giving her a wide smile. Who wouldn’t like it? It seemed to be so exciting, especially for Sunoo because hse gets to skip two days of school a week to come over to the academy and plan a party.
“ I really thought they wouldn’t. ” Jungwon’s smile was so wide, you could see her dimples. Oh Sunoo just wanted to squish her. She felt like a proud mom, watching her baby do her first ever presentation in front of students. That scene doesn’t exist but it does now.
“ What do we need now ?”
“ Well, the agreement and then the approval. ”
Jungwon didn’t know it’d be this easy to convince them. Her slideshow wasn’t even finished and they seemed to love the idea. She knew she still had it. That big ol’ brain of hers. Take that Taehyun! You said her plan would never work. Well, not because you didn’t believe in her, you were just into the financial part of it, and you came up with a pricey total that almost made Sunoo faint.
“So, All in favor of Jungwon’s Idea? Say I.” Heeseung raised his hand above his head, looking over at the two boys who seemed fond of the Idea as well “I.”
“I, Park Jay, loves the Idea.” Jay spoke out, raising his hand.
Jake smiled as he raised his hand, looking at Sunoo “I, Count me in.”
Sunoo almost forgot the other being in the room. Waiting quietly so he could attack them with the worst possible news. The silence after Jake was haunting, everybody was waiting for that extra agreement so they could move on and talk more about it. But nothing filled the silent room. Only the small tapping made from Jay, the anticipation was getting to him.
The group all turned to look at Sunghoon, who like Jake, had his notebook out. Sunghoon was tapping his black ball point pen against the white paper. They couldn’t read his face, he was just looking down at his notes, they weren’t sure if he was about to hit them with good or bad news.
Heeseung knows if all members don’t agree, then nothing will happen at all. Especially, How Sunghoon is their treasurer. If money says no, then money says no. But maybe this once, they can ask the school on a bigger budget.
Sunghoon finally looks up from his paper, letting everyone let out their breath. Was he really that breathtaking? They’re raising his ego by a lot.
“No.” Sunghoon shook his head, making all the boys groan and sigh.
“Wait, we can ask the school for a bigger budget.” Heeseung was quick to add.
“Why not! You’ll probably be the first one to get a date!” Jay groaned, pouting at the younger.
“If it’s about the money we could always fundraise with the host club,” Jake said.
Oh, that dreaded host club all the boys hated. The things they tried in Freshman year will stay in Freshman year. Jake will never again have to be surrounded by a bunch of women, no matter how much he loves them. All he can remember were them trying to talk to him at the same time. It made his head hurt just thinking about it.
“Even with that, it’s too much money,” Sunghoon pointed down with his pen towards the notes.
His notes weren't wrong though. All the expensives kept piling up one after one. The carnival, the things for the field day and the dance. It only makes sense that a carnival with food stands and rides would be costly, not only that but to hire employers as well. The field day wouldn’t be much more since they have equipment, but the extras they wanted to include would cost extra. Not to mention to have a whole dance, where every student will get fed and expected to be entertained by an expensive orchestra.
Even though these schools were elite, some of the most expensive schools in Korea, money is a priority. The more money, the better you look, there’s no way the school would waste money on their students.
“You’re wrong.” Sunoo answered him, looking at him dead serious in the eye, her hand fisiting the hem of her skirt “You just don’t want to say yes.”
“Sunoo-ah.” Jungwon's laugh was a bit nervous, and frankly a little shaky, placing her hand on Sunoo’s shoulder. Maybe she had gotten too cocky, she really thought her plan would fall through. It was literally indestructible. Her mind was getting to the best of her, maybe she should just leave the student body all together.
Sunoo’s shoulder shook Jungwon’s hand away, looking down at the boy who sat on the chair, giving her a smug smile. Oh how she wished to punch his, okaish, face. She bets he’s nothing without it. Well, maybe he has money but still, people are much more attracted to faces than anything, right?
“What’d you say?” Sunghoon’s tone was almost mocking to Sunoo. Sunoo felt like she was back in Middle school getting bullied again. Turns out the reason why was because her bully liked her, but Sunoo isn’t dumb enough to fall for someone who caused all of her current insecurities.
“You’re wrong.” Sunoo scoffed, crossing her hands over her chest “Why wouldn’t the school pay for it, when they already agreed? Your reasoning doesn’t make sense, both schools are in on it, they’d be able to afford this and more to what our hearts desire. Your school was also so excited to even call in the express for the occasion. So you’re just spitting lies”
The whole room went quiet. The tension, it was like a block of cold hard cheese. It was thick of, well whatever tension these too had.
“Oh, Sunoo, You’re right.” Heesueng blinked twice, his head finally clearing up “Sunghoon, Why would the school agree with them if they didn’t have the money for it? They wouldn’t have been here if they hadn't gone over the money plans first.”
Sunghoon could only let out a snicker. Completely ignoring his friend, his eyes only staring back into the others. One thing his grandma used to say, if you make eye contact with someone, if their eyes sparkle, it means that they loved you.
There was something in Sunoo’s eyes he noticed. She stared back at him with eyes he could closely describe as a fox. A mad fox, waiting to attack any second. A fox, who didn't seem to be afraid of anything, even though Sunghoon was the king of the animal kingdom.
It was hatred. This may be even more fun than Sunghoon expected.
“You figured it out.” Sunhoon stood up from the chair.
Sunoo was pretty much annoyed by the other’s presence entirely. Her eyes followed his, even though she had to look up. She didn’t seem to notice how tall he was, all her head could think about would be she’s the right height to kick his crotch. She’d probably get sued.
“Do you think I’m dumb? You were spitting bullshit.”
“You’re brave.” Sunghoon’s fake smile made Sunoo want to throw hands. Sunoo has never felt like this before. She’s never hated someone so much she wanted to- well she can’t explain the feeling in her at the moment.
Sunghoon walked over to her, close enough to look down at her. He acted like they've been friends for years. The audacity he had to look down at her, making the girl have to look up. She was pretty stubborn, not wanting to lose eye contact.
Sunhoon just felt a bit annoyed. He was saying no just to annoy her, but it seemed to have backfired at him. But, Park Sunghoon never loses, everyone in his school knows this.
There was a feeling in Sunoo that made her want to scream and hide her face. She hated the fact that her stomach was tingling once he came closer. She must be thinking crazy, he’s probably messing with her head. She doesn’t find such a person, attractive.
“Yeah, what about it?” Sunoo tilted her head to her side.
Sunghoon found it annoying. He found her extremely annoying.
“What about it? Do you still think I’m going to say yes?”
“But-”
“But? There’s no buts, I said no.” Sunghoon placed his hands into his pockets, standing like a complete asshole. If anyone were to walk into the room right now, they would think it’d be a bullying case.
Sunghoon’s watched her face become annoyed, and then a bit disappointed. She broke the eye contact they had on for a while.
She was quick to turn away, her hand grabbing the board and the stand. Was she giving up that easily, Sunghoon thought to himself. Did he win the fight?
No, not yet.
“Unless.”
Sunoo turned around again, only to face the boy he bent down to catch her at eye level. She didn’t notice how her friend’s face looked completely shocked, and the three boys' mouths wide as they saw their friend act out.
“Unless? Unless what?” Sunoo raised her brow, her lips pursed in determination to do whatever he was to ask. She was not letting Jungwon’s plan fail. She loves her too much to see her upset.
Sunghoon looked into her eyes, making Sunoo a bit- like that feeling she had before. Instead of butterflies, it felt like rocks fluttering in her stomach. His smile made her take a step back.
“I’ll only say yes,” Sunghoon said “If you’ll be my date to the ball.”
»»———— ✼ ————««
“A beautiful night in the stars, a ball that’d make the night so magical for all of you and your dates.” The head mistress rambled on into the mic, her hand expressing herself.
Jungwon stood awkwardly next to her, holding her mic up straight, waiting for her turn to talk to the hundreds of boys who stared at them. She’s never felt more stared at. Each time she looked up, she made awkward eye contact with some guy in the crowd.
Everyone left the meeting room tense. There were still some awkward laughs between the meeting, ending it pretty much when the school bell rang for the last class of the day.
It was so fucking awkward.
Fine.
The answer Sunoo gave was still ringing in her ears. She was completely shocked by the situation, and by the seams of it so we’re the guys. She even caught a glimpse of Heeseung hitting Sunghoon’s head when he sat back down.
Sunghoon did agree in the end, seeming way too smug to even explain why he did. Jungwon was relieved in a way, her mental self patting herself on the back, but another part of her made her feel extremely guilty.
Sunoo was too nice for her own good. Jungwon knew the reason behind her answer, and that was because Sunoo wanted Jungwon’s plan to end up working. A part of her felt happy, but the other made her filled with worry.
It’s all that guy's fault. Sunoo had talked hours of nights telling Jungwon that she was excited to meet someone who would take her to the dance. Sunoo had planned on doing all the activities with a person she met, telling Jungwon that it’s basically true love.
She told her that she wanted that classic falling in love story. Liking someone who thought she was pretty and funny, and would treat her nicely. She wanted to get promposed to, like how she saw in all of those YouTube videos.
What Sunoo got was completely different. She got Park Sunghoon, someone she knew for almost three hours now. He was an absolute asshole to her, and it was in a meeting room, almost a bribe of a promposal.
It was not what Sunoo had pictured in mind.
Jungwon’s attention had focused back to the assembly when the Headmistress had pointed towards the girl to continue the presentation.
“Uh, The Ball will require for everyone to dress up in their fanciest acquire,” Jungwon moved away from the giant screen, letting everyone see the pictures of fancy people at events like the one planned “It will also be a chance to have a date with anyone you’d like, or you could come in groups too! Anyway you’d feel comfortable for all of you to have a night of fun and dancing.”
Sunoo was out of her body. Staring off to the floor below her, the wood was calling for her attention.
Her mind was still trying to grasp the situation. She was just trying to stand up to herself- how does that end up like this? Each time she stands up for herself dumb shit always happens, she should’ve learned from her bully in middle school. Why doesn’t she ever learn?
She wanted so badly to have a Kdrama moment with someone she met here. She wanted that feeling of being liked. She was imagining the person chasing her around, liking her because she was her.
No, life never goes her way. She was sure Sunghoon hated her, or found her annoying, she really wanted him to think she was so she wouldn’t have to deal with him anymore. How would this work? Do they have to stick together? She’s probably not even going to go have fun at the ball with Sunghoon by her side. He seemed like the kind of person who would walk off and dance with someone else. She’s probably going to have to be sitting in the chairs, stress eating whatever leftover appetizers they had left, listening to the music with no one to dance with.
She even signed up for dance lessons with lady park, she’s going to have to cancel on her once more. Goddammit she even practiced by herself with the broom in her parent’s kitchen. The laughs she got from her siblings were not at all worth it in the end. For fuck sakes she even practiced with Jungwon.
She looks like a fool. She is a fool. The biggest fool in history. Curse her being friends with Yang Jungwon. Curse Sunoo for being a simp for her friend, She hates to see her so unhappy.
Don’t think like that Sunoo, if Sunoo didn’t agree, Sunghoon would’ve still had said no, and then Jungwon would’ve been extremely upset. She can’t stand seeing the younger one upset, it happened once, and Sunoo started to cry with her. It was only because Jungwon’s brother called her ugly. Jungwon felt dumb afterwards but Sunoo was ready to fight the man.
What if Sunoo doesn’t get to wear that beautiful dress? Wow, she was really meant to not be happy huh?
No, Sunoo was going to be the most breathtaking bitch in the ball. She’s going to walk in and all eyes on her, mouths gaped open when they watch her strut her stuff. She’s going to have to see how much the costs would be though, she can take another job if she has to.
But her confidence soon deflated. She’s not going to be able to even flirt with Jake. Oh that was her biggest concern yet! The one time she finds a guy she likes, fate slaps her in the face and tells her she gets what she gets.
Maybe it was for the best. Maybe it was just not meant to be.
“Sunoo!”
Sunoo looked over to Jungwo who had her mouth covered so she could whisper to her from across the stage. The older looked at her card, clearing her throat before reading from her card, clutching onto the microphone for dear life.
“Yes, Thank you, The night will be one to remember for sure. But you may be asking what are the two other events that our headmistress was talking about earlier. Well, our student council decided on-”
“You’re so fucking crazy, how could you even think about doing that? You don’t even like her! You son of a bitch! You’re going to play her aren’t you? You know dude, normally you never act like this! What has gotten into you? You're always the good guy! No wonder she hates your guts!” Jay kept rambling, making sure to not be too loud to disrupt the assembly or for the boys in front of them to turn or listen to him. He’s sure if Sunoo was upset, so would Jungwon! He can’t let that happen, but nooo, Sunghoon just had to be a brat today.
“And?” Sunghoon was slumped in his seat, his eyes darted towards Sunoo. He’d be honest, he didn’t think she’d actually agree, he was planning on annoying for the rest of the meeting until she probably backed out of the idea all together. It’s a good idea, he won’t lie, if he wasn't Sunghoon.
He can already see it, once the girls from the local schools find out, they’d rush at him. He’d hate to be such a heartbreaker, he doesn’t know what kind of excuses to give them.
Maybe asking Sunoo to the dance was unintentionally a good idea. He’d just say he already has a date to go with, and let the girls down gently. It could become a problem if they start to target Sunoo, but Sunghoon doesn’t care enough to avoid it.
All he knows is that he’s going to avoid a lot of stuff these forward two months.
“And? Dude you don’t like her!” Jay seemed stressed, his hands holding his dyed blonde hair. Sunghoon never understood why dyed it, thinking the boy was dumb when he said the girl he was currently dating dyed it for him. The next day Sunghoon went with him for his hairstylist to fix the spotty mess. What a disaster.
Jay was feeling himself that day.
“...and?” Sunghoon still questioned. His face looked so confused, wondering why the older was so mad.
That wasn’t the only person who seemed to be mad at him, Jake was also ignoring him. Sunghoon didn't think his best friend could even be this mad. He knows he was trying to like her, but he didn’t think he was going to actually? If that made sense, Sunghoon thought Jake was just going to do the same thing when it doesn’t work out and they end up breaking up.
Jake ignored him for the rest of the meeting, and when it was time to go, he walked faster than all of them, leaving for the hall in speed. Even when they were choosing seats, Jake made sure to stay as far away as possible from the other, even as far to ignore him completely.
Sunghoon doesn’t believe he did anything wrong. He’s just preventing disaster! Besides, he gets bad vibes from Sunoo. Knowing his best friend’s past, He doesn’t just want any girl for him, he wants him to be happy. And unfortunately for Sunoo, she seemed to have many flaws.
Jake was very handsome. He was pretty tall, had a nice smile and overall a good looking face. He was also kind and funny, and he makes Sunghoon laugh all the time. He’s always seemed to be on good terms with his parents and was friendly to everyone. He’s anybody's dream man.
Sunoo was the opposite of that. It’s true, He’s barely knew her, they met hours ago, but he can tell what she’s like. He bets she’ll use him for money, prior to other girls he’s been with. He’s not dumb, he can see the hand me down, from the small rip that was patched up on one side of her vest, to the sown up skirt that was probably too big on her in the first place. He may not have enough proof, but her uniform alone compared to Jungwon’s was enough to convince him.
“Don’t you think about how she feels? What if she had someone in mind already dude?”
“Don’t make me laugh.” Sunghoon tilted his head to look at the older “I’m doing her a favor here, do you think anyone would have asked her?”
“Stop, You’re going too far now.” Heeseung flicked the back of the brat’s head, shaking his head “She’s pretty, I’m pretty most guys would go for her, including those motherfuckers.”
Heeseung was talking about the groups of boys in front of them, trying to encourage their ‘Leader’ to ask out Sunoo. How does he know they were talking about Sunoo, you may ask? Well they keep describing her as the pretty one with the long hair and pretty eyes. Of course by the power of elimination, He crossed off the adult on the stage because it’s pretty obvious she wasn’t even close, and Jungwon because she has hair reaching her shoulders.
He really took the time to realize how long her hair actually was. It wasn’t that long, it stopped midway her back, but it looked like she had a lot of hair. Heeseung cringed at the thought of having heavy hair during the summer time. How does she do it? She’s something else.
“Who, Intak?” Jay questioned, looking at the group second years, patting the tall boys pack to try and hyping him up. The boy just seemed to smile and look down at his shoes, then back up to the stage.
“Who could blame him, She’s Pretty.”
Mr.Sunshine was finally talking after the long silence he kept going since the meeting. His arms were crossed on his chest, his eyes never taking off the stage. Sunghoon couldn’t help but scoff at him, He still doesn’t understand why he was still mad at him. He was doing him a favor for fucks sake. He deserves a prize, he went out of his way to vibe check the girl and this is how he gets treated.
“She is really pretty.” Heesung agreed with him, placing his arm over Jake’s shoulder “Yah, You know who might’ve liked her?”
“Who?” Jay looked a bit confused.
“Niki.”
“Niki?”
»»———— ✼ ————««
“She’s so pretty!” Taki's mouth was gaped as he lifted his neck up more to take a look at the girls on the stage. The boy was almost lifting off his chair to see the over the third year’s heads, but if It wasn’t for Mr.Jung who made him sit back down. He was making stuff up about how It’s a health hazard? What’s a health hazard? Taki doesn’t even know.
Niki looked at his new friend with a questioning face. He just met Taki today, after lunch he went back to class and found the boy sitting in the seat next to him. It wasn’t a problem, nobody sat there, It was just the fact that Taki talked a lot.
As soon as Niki went to sit down, he soon realized how overwhelmed he got with the questions he was getting. From things about his name all the way to what kind of toothpaste he uses. He never thought someone could flatter him for using Colgate, The brand Taki swears it’s best. It’s the best because it smells so good, you almost want to eat it , he remembered the older one of the two say. He also remembers the five minute story of Taki eating a small bit and ending up in the hospital, eating ice cream on the bed while watching a Thai drama on full volume.
He was also bombarded with hugs once they figured out both of them were named Riki. When Mr.Choi called for Riki, they both raised their hands. The older one couldn’t believe his ears, talking about how it would be funny if they made their own reality show called Riki squared. Riki A and Riki B was his strategy on making people learn the difference between them.
He was also quick to know that Taki was a transfer student, just like him. He almost knew his whole life story when Taki went on and on about how his mom cheated on his dad and his dad went off to find a husband because turns out his dad liked men his whole life. And Taki moved to Korea with his dad, and his big brother K. And then, to Taki’s surprise, His dad was in love with the CEO of Kim Cosmetics. So now Taki is rich, and now he’s sitting in this classroom, late because his step-dad’s dog peed on his new uniform. So much happened in the past two weeks for Taki, it was crazy.
Niki wouldn't have believed him if it wasn’t for Taki showing him the cut off piece of pants he had in his backpack pocket. Niki also realized that Taki had shorts on instead of the pants. He understood why Taki ripped on the side, but why both, And when asked, Taki only said he did it because he hates when things are unsymmetrical.
Niki didn’t want to be mean, but he almost compared his comment to his bangs. The poor boy, who ever messed him up badly deserved Jail time for the crime they commited.
So that’s why Niki was sitting here, next to his new, so called, friend. He finds him a bit weird, but it’s all worth it to try and get friends. Don’t get him wrong, he loves having the 3rd years as his friends, but they’re graduating soon, so he really has to spend two years by himself.
“Who?” Niki answered him. Thankfully, he was tall enough to just sit and look over his head. He felt bad for Takei though, struggling to stretch his neck. He might get some neck pain. He’ll give him IcyHot, probably after school.
“The one with the short hair- wah, she’s so pretty!” Taki looked like a middle school girl having a crush on some guy, his eyes almost popping out of it’s sockets. He was scooting to the edge of the chair to get a closer look, but it ended up with him falling on his ass with a loud grunt, and a loud chair banging.
Niki was a bit flustered, trying to pick up the older from the floor with a few laughs around them, but Taki didn’t seem so fazed. His eyes were still glued to her even on the floor.
“Get up!” Niki whispered slashed yelled at him, silently, because Niki would be too embarrassed to even yell out. He was quick to pull him up and sit him back on his chair, ignoring the looks some guys gave them.
Niki silently cursed to himself, wanting to hide his face in his blazer when he made eye contact with Jay, who was in the back in the row next to them. The blonde was just nodding his head and giving him a thumbs up. Oh Niki wanted nothing more than to go home and play with his dog, maybe even play mario kart with his sister.
What if they find out he’s been talking to Taki? What if his friends think he’s lame because he’s even sitting next to Taki!
Oh, Niki might think he’ll shrink up on the spot!
Niki felt himself turn beat red as soon as Jake hit Sunghoon’s chest, getting the rest's attention to show them Niki’s new friend. Oh fate, why do you do this to him? He just wanted a nice day with him thinking to himself while he does his classwork like a good (somewhat) student he is.
It got worse when all four of them started waving at him and shooting him thumbs.
And just when he thought it couldn't get any better.
“Who are you looking at?” Taki turned around to see the four boys acting out to get Niki’s attention, Taki couldn’t help but smile, waving back at the boys “Woah, are those your friends Niki!”
“ Boys, ” Mr.Choi whispered to the two freshmen, making them sit back fowad on their chairs.
Niki sighed, looking down at his shoes. He’s never been on any teacher’s bad side. Maybe he’s not on his bad side, but the tone of Mr.Choi’s voice was chilling. Was Taki a bad influence? He literally just met him for like an hour, how has he had this much affect on him. Was Taki rubbing off his rebelness on him, he already got yelled at.
He turned to look at Taki, his face falling when he saw him start to pick his nose.
No, maybe he was wrong about this one.
“Thankfully, The P.E teachers have agreed to become the Dance instructors for the time being, so dance lessons will be processed during those classes. If you have any questions regarding dance lessons, please check in with them after school-”
Niki was finally able to tune back into the presentation, looking up at the stage.
“Since this is a formal ball, Waltz is required to learn-”
He felt the wind get punched out of his lungs. His eyes settled on the prettiest girl he’s ever seen. Yes, even from that one time he exaggerated when he had a crush on a girl in grade school. No, this was the prettiest girl he’s ever seen.
And he’s known many girls throughout his life.
“She’s pretty.” Niki whispered, his eyes still glued to the mysterious girl speaking into the microphone, her fox eyes reading from a card, her pink cheeks bunching when she makes a mistake on accident, laughing a bit. Maybe it was forced because she messed up pretty badly.
Her laugh was pretty too. It was more of a soft giggle. And the way she covered her face with the cards in her hand. Niki couldn’t help but laugh a bit with her. Her hands looked pretty soft too- okay he may be sounding a bit weird here, but you would understand if you saw her in front of you.
“Yeah.” Taki sighs as he looks at the front, smiling to himself.
“Yeah.”
“The headmistress is pretty hot.”
“What?”
“What-”
“Taki, I don’t want to hang out with you anymore-”
“Wait, not like this! I'll take that back!”
“Do you think you could take that sentence back!”

Sunoo was tired. She felt her shoulders feel heavy. Her eyes were getting droopy. She was sure her head felt like it was fifty pounds, trying so hard to fall and take a nap right there and then on the floor of the hallway. It wasn’t helping with the boxes she has to carry back. If she didn’t have to cover her brother’s shift she would go straight home after and take the longest nap known in written history.
“Kim Sunoo, you’re out of your fucking mind.” Sunoo was talking to herself, almost whining as she moved slowly with the heavy-ass box.
She was still thinking about it earlier. Why would she agree? There was no reason to agree, it’s not like she had to.
Fuck, Yang Jungwon. For like the sixth time today.
No, she shouldn’t be blaming her best friend for this issue. This was her fault. She just had to be a big dog for once. She stepped into dangerous territory and got her tail bit off by the monstrous demon dog. Sunghoon looks like a monstruos demon dog, with large fangs and a bitchy attitude.
Sunoo laughs at her own comparison.
“Ah! These got even heavier from last time.” Jungwon whined from behind her, taking a few extra fast steps to catch up to Sunoo. Sunoo didn’t even notice the boxes getting heavier
“Your fault for not asking for that wagon.”
“Look! I know I said-”
“You said that you hated asking Ms.Hwang, but tell me, Jungwon, was it worth it?”
“No-”
“Exactly, now we’re stuck carrying these dumb boxes, all the way back to school!” Sunoo growled lowly, glaring at her friend who just laughed awkwardly. She better watch out, this is Sunoo’s villain origin story.
“Ah- when are you going to stop being mad at me.” Jungwon whined, stopping a bit to pick up the box that was slipping through her sweaty fingers. What a fuckinng workout, if she had her Apple Watch on right now it would’ve told her she lost at least one pound just from picking up the bloody cardboard cubes.
“I’m not mad! I’m upset” It’s true, she was. She was tired, and it was freezing- and she had to sneeze but she couldn't because she might drop the box. They also have to get out as soon as possible, the bell is about to ring soon and she does not want to deal with the mental stress of having to travel a wave of men just to get to the front door.
“Ddeuno~ I’ll buy you fried chicken if you stop being upset”
Okay maybe Sunoo wasn’t that upset anymore.
“You better! You’re rich enough to buy me two plates too! So you better do that too!” Sunoo argued with her before Jungwon could even speak.
“No way! Last time that happened you made me carry you all the way back-“
“I’m so upset, I might cry!”
“Fine, but you better not blow up the toilet again-“
“That was you!”
“That was not me!”
“Hello.”
Sunoo and Jungwon both held off their conversation once they heard a few voices speak from behind them. They both turned around at the same time like the twins they are. Sisters from another misses and misters, they like to say. Though it makes no sense, it’s the thought that really counts.
Sunoo’s eyed catches a talk boy, also noticing the trail of boys behind him that tried (keyword:tried) to hide behind him. She won’t lie, she thought she was about to get jumped, but then she calmed her fight or flight feeling by telling herself she hasn’t done anything wrong at this school.
Except for breaking that chair in the auditorium- it was not her fault it was already broken and she ended up busting her ass for the fifth time that day. Not only was it embarrassing because it was in front of the headmistress’s so-called ‘boyfriend’, but it got worse when he tried to say it was okay, and then continued to order some boys to find a replacement.
“Oh, hello.” Jungwon responded first with a wide smile. Little did she know that she was not going to get a response, letting her out to stand in embarrassment.
“How can I help you?” Sunoo answered, raising her eyebrow. Wow, she felt so professional, she was a guest council member, so everyone was ordered to treat both with respect like how they treat Heeseung.
It wasn’t her either. It was the Headmistress’s boyfriend who started it off how the girls should be respected and treated like high class individuals. High class individual, Sunoo had never been classified as that before. Even when she was in public school, she was considered to be in a group. Like nobody knew her fucking name, now that she thinks about it kids were mean back then.
“Ah, My name is Intak.” Intak smiled widely at her, almost expecting her to remember the name or something.
“Uhm- Hi, I’m Sun-“
“Sunoo? Yeah you did the presentation.”
Oh, that’s right. Oh my god, What if they start calling her Sunoo the girl who got hit with a ball at the face- no that’s too lame. Why would she even think about it like that?
“Yeah, That's me.” Sunoo said awkwardly, mostly because the box in her hands was starting to slip, seconds away from crashing into the floor.
“Uhm, the thing is, I was wondering if you wanted to go to the winter-“
“Ddeuno.”
Sunoo turned around once more, what was she, the twist it handled on the bop it game? Bop it! Tch! Twist it! Neirr! Pull it! Eurgh! Oh god, she misses the vine and the funny little things she saw on it. Wait- no back to the topic.
“Ddeuno, Let’s go, I’ll walk you home.” Sunghoon came up from behind her, taking the box swiftly from her hands. Like that fucking fox from Dora the Explora.
“Huh, wait- what the fuck.” Sunoo furrowed her brows, looking up at the now sudden changed Sunghoon. He was nice all of the sudden- oh my god was he a fucking Leo? Fucking two faced motherfucker!
“Oh, I didn’t know you were-“ Intak laughed awkwardly, taking a small step back.
“We aren’t-“ Sunoo shook her head rapidly.
“I'm sorry, Intak! I already asked her out.” Sunghoon carried the box with one hand, the other placed on her head.
“Oh shit, My bad dude, I didn’t know.” Intak let out a laugh, scratching the side of her head in embarrassment. You can tell the awkwardness in his eyes alone, the way they tried not to make eye contact with Sunghoon or Sunoo, but at the same time trying to not look like a rude guy.
“No, no it’s fine.” Sunghoon laughed with him, giving off his hand for the other to grab, patting each other on the back.
Classic, the boyz, move. Sunoo wanted to almost bark when they started to talk about sports and- whatever overly masculine men talk about. Whatever toxic teenage boys talk about, Sunoo doesn’t know!
Wait, no but that’s not the- wait a minute.
She just got asked out? She got asked out! Holy shit! She got fucking asked out by someone who thought she was pretty! And so early on too! Something in her chest fluttered with excitement, it felt really bad but the more she felt it, it felt wonderful!
“Okay, I’ll see you at soccer practice then! Uhm, Bye-“ Intak pointed over at Jungwon, who just sighed and put her head down.
“Jungwon,” She responded.
“Oh, yeah, uhm, bye Sunoo.” Intak flashed Sunoo a smile, leaving with his friends scattering towards him to talk about the scene.
Sunoo didn’t care what he was about to say. Wow, come to believe someone would actually like her. She’s been liked before, like by that one guy in middle school, or that one time this girl gave her a pencil- but never like this. They talked for a minute, yet Sunoo felt like she was flying through the pink clouds.
Leave her alone she’s never felt romance before!
“What, why are you making that face?” Sunghoon seemed a bit confused, bending slightly to see her face more up close.
“Me, my face isn’t any different?”
“Yeah, you’re smiling.”
“I’m not.” Sunoo was smiling, her cheeks a rosy pink as a smile plastered on her face. It felt good, it felt good to know- wait, she didn’t even give him an answer!
“Where’d he go? '' Sunoo looked behind Sunghoon, no track left behind by the group of boys. She must’ve been seeing shit, she didn’t even notice them leaving.
“Why?”
“Because, I didn’t even answer him!”
“I mean, you don’t, you’re already coming with me.”
“With...you?”
That’s when it hit her. Like a fucking bowling ball to the head. Or a fucking soccer all if you wanted to get funny. She had forgotten- oh how many people will she turn down because of this doofus asking her first. Probably only like two- she’s not that popular.
But It wasn’t even a question! It was a demand! A demand to accept his offer so she can agree on Jungwon’s Idea.
Sunoo let out a loud groan, trying to hide her face in the box that was no longer in her hands. Why was it not in her hands- did she drop it or something? How long was she thinking for-
“This? Are you looking for this?” Sunghoon questioned, holding the box more to her height view, shaking it a bit to grab her attention.
“When did you-“
“It was falling, I didn’t want you to drop it.”
“Oh, thank you.” Sunoo was still pretty pissed, her arms crossing her chest as she began to walk back towards the entrance.
Jungwon stared at both of them in wide eyes, picking up the box again with her knee as her eyes followed them. Why are they being so nice to each other all of the sudden? What in Bipolar was this shit? Not even an hour ago were they at each other’s neck, and now they were acting like nothing happened.
Don’t pay much attention Jungwon, keep carrying your box and nothing bad will happen, preferably not to the box that’s on the verge of slipping from your fingertips.
“Wait- why are you acting nice- FUCK OFF GIVE ME MY BOX”
“What-“ Sunghoon raised the box above his head, making sure it would be a height she couldn’t reach and grab from him “Let’s go, soccerball”
“Don’t call me that!”
“How about Cheeseball?”
“No, that’s worse-“
“Okay, let’s go Cheeseball”
Yes, Jungwon and Sunoo ended up having to push around the crowd of students to try and get through the exit. It was unfortunate that Sunghoon fought with her for so long, she didn’t even notice the forming wave about to hit them. She never got her box back either.
And that stupid nickname.

“Do you want a Arizona?” Heeseung asked as he squinted into the mini-fridge, taking a peach-flavored Can from the fridge for Sunghoon.
“Like the state-“
“The drink you dumb whore.”
“Hmm, You actin’ fruity- boy you gay huh-“
“Shut the fuck up.” Heeseung chuckled, getting back to his couch with three cans from his fridge. Personalized fridge, of course, a rich kid like Heeseung would have his own fridge in his room, stocked with drinks and snacks.
“Fruity?” Sunghoon raised a brow, taking a can from Heeseung’s hold and immediately opening it “Are you talking about the Arizona-“
“Oh here we go.” Jay sighed, holding his forehead in two of his fingers like if he had suddenly had gotten a headache “you don’t know shit about anything you old man soul in a teen’s aging body.”
“What the fuck are you talking about.”
“Just get TikTok bruh- I know you said you don’t like it but at least do it to get my jokes!”
“Why Can’t you explain what fruity means?”
“Because then,” Jay got up, pointing at his friend “You’re going to keep asking and asking and asking until I blow up on you.”
“Sit the fuck down.” Heeseung kicked Jay’s ass from his seat, making the other fall back into his bean bag chair.
“Ouch!”
“It means when someone is acting suspiciously gay.” Heeseung took a long gulp of the juice, his eyes paying back the attention to the big screen. He grabbed the controller to select a FIFA game after a long time of picking a game.
“Oh- So like both of you-“
“I swing both sides, dumbass. Tell that to Jay.”
“I don’t like guys! I’ve said this before!” Jay exclaimed, grabbing a controller to start choosing his team. He’s said this enough times! Sure, He did say that Kangsung was looking nice that one day, that one year, that one time- He just said he looked pretty! Sure he stuttered a bit when he faced him, but that was completely natural.
It’s not Jay’s fault pretty people exist! Blame his parents because look at him, he himself is the definition of beauty.
“Bullshit,” Heeseung picked his team, making sure the small characters were In the places he wanted them to be in to win “You’re literally a raging bisexual!”
“I am not!”
“You called my parents hot.” Sunghoon looked him dead in the eye, remembering the god-awful day when he brought in the soccer team for dinner. Oh how he wishes to forget, maybe if he got hit by a ball- too soon?
It’s never too soon.
“That’s so fucking low.” Heeseung looked at Jay in shock, shaking his head as his mouth dropped wide open “Even for a desperate bisexual guy.”
“I am not Bisexual! I like girls- and sure occasionally I say guys are cute- but that’s the envy I have for them! I want to be tall and shit too!” Jay rambled on, moving his fingers like the professional gamer inside of him, moving his players across the screen to make a goal into Heeseung’s side. Stupid Heeseung, didn’t see it coming when Jay scored in that awesome Jay-Power kick.
“Sounds fruity, babe.” Heeseung returned the point to Jay once he scored on him with ease, leaving Jay mouth wide open to see Heeseung was back on the top again.
Here’s the thing. Heeseung has known Jay for a long time. He’s known this guy since elementary. Sure he also knew Sunghoon, but back then that kid was one of the most antisocial motherfuckers he had ever seen. But with Jay, Let’s just say they have a very solid relationship.
He’s seen him come and go with the multiple girlfriends he brought in their hangouts or when they went out for their guy time. He’s seen short girls, tall girls, pretty girls, you understand his point. But he will never see Jay happier than he was with his ‘oversea’ friend that he always talked to on skype.
Of Course he didn’t want to out Jay during that time. He asked honestly, because at that one time Heeseung accidentally walked into the camera view and took a peek at this boy. He believed his name to be Haoyu, a boy their age with bangs almost covering his eyes and a nice smile, getting introduced as a classmate by Jay himself. It was about two months until he stopped seeing Jay get on his computer at exactly two in the afternoon.
Now, Heeseung is nosy. It runs in his fucking family of course he asked them about it. Jay has always told Heeseung about how he only liked girls, but that day there was no explanation for what the latter gave him. It was because he started dating a girl, his other best friend, he liked in the states. The stupidest shit he’s ever heard of. Heeseung knows his gaydar, he thinks he has a big one, and he knows for a fact that Jay was in love with both of them at the same time.
Heeseung isn’t dumb. He knows Jay has a big thing for personality. Sure, earlier today he did seem pretty desperate for the president chick. But like if that was ever going to happen. Jay is a complicated man, he sees a pretty person, he likes them, he talks to them and figures about them until they develop a deep connection, he’s in love. That’s why the idiot is always in and out in relationships, he gets bored easily.
This is where he comes in and becomes a champion. He let Jay comfort himself. Okay maybe he just didn’t help because Heeseung himself was a closeted bisexual homophobe, he does not like talking about his straight boy era. Of course he came out last year, and he knows he can’t force Jay into coming out.
But look, sometimes a little Jab to the Ribs won;t hurt- he’s kidding of course.
Or is he?
No, he isn’t, don’t come for him!
“I know I’m the main character here, but let’s change the subject!” Jay exclaimed, Throwing his controller on his lap once he saw Heeseung’s team get the fucking cup. It’s not fair, Heeseung spends time in his bigass room and his fifa games all day “How about, Sunghoon what the fuck was that shit you pulled at the meeting today.”
“Yeah, You never said shit during the assembly.” The oldest one raised a brow, picking a new team to go against Jay’s pick of Brazil. Australia seems to be a good choice for now. Or maybe should choose the United states, really make the American boy rage at him. Yeah, he should.
“You ask me like I know why I did it.” Sunghoon took another gulp, taking out his phone to scroll down in his Instagram.
Ah yes, the suspicious account with no profile picture, only following four accounts, and only four followers. The one with zero posts, only to watch the lives of his friends and nothing more. The only reason why he got it was because Jay wanted to make a fake account to see if his girlfriend was cheating. Which she was, but the account was passed down to Sunghoon, who found it okay-ish to look through photos and comment dumb shit.
It’s not like he doesn’t like sns. He was just never allowed to have anything growing up, So why have one now?
“You’re a confusing man, Sunghoon.” Jay shook his head.
“I’m not, I don’t know why I asked her, I’ll probably drop her later though.”
“You poor bastard.”
“Stressed, actually, what if I don’t get another date by then!” Sunghoon’s eyes watched as his hand scrolled down through his feed, seeing the same old boring photo he’s seen before. The Same one with Jake and his dog that has peed on Sunghoon’s leg before. The one time Jay went to a baseball game, he got hit by a ball. A photo with Heeseung skiing, that day he slipped like six times. And… oh, what’s this.
A recent photo from Niki, four hours ago and a solid picture of the blue sky with a tree to contrast. The caption, ‘lonely’. The comments, even more desperate than he thought. You know how he said that he doesn’t get along with the boys at the academy?
It’s very much different. He has a lot of… little girlfriends. Oh do the Noona’s get over their heels over him. So many comments of how cool he was to take a picture of the school, and many comments asking if they could write his papers for him.
And… these multiple comments by the same person.
Ickytakiz_6969: brooo that was some sick poetry!
Ickytakiz_6969: wait I mean caption!
Ickytakiz_6969: also Riki number one do you think I should Join volleyball?
Ickytakiz_6969: I mean I’m not good at like anything, but like fuck it you know
Ickytakiz_6969: Dont tell my mom I curse omg
Ickytakiz_6969: Also did you do the homework? I'm stuck on problem 4 :D thanks bff!
“Niki has a new friend huh?” Sunghoon formed a smile, a small sense of pride filling his chest. It felt like his student was now spreading his wings. Whoever the boy was, he had many pictures with ‘funny’ filters and a single picture of a chips bag. What a strange boy he really was.
Nikimura_05: I’m going to block you, Taki.
“Yeah, He was the kid that was waving back at us,” Heeseung recalled, laughing as his eyes moved with the screen “Hyper kid, hopefully he gets Niki out of his shell. The kid barely laughs.”
“That’s not true, He laughed at my joke before.” Jay says.
“He was laughing at you Jay, You were walking around with a rip down the crack of your pants.”
“When what?”
“You weren’t supposed to say shit Heeseung!”
“I’m sorry, what do you mean!” Jay’s controller fell on his lap as he scoffed, turning around to see Sunghoon and Heeseung on the couch, his eyes glaring at them like the fierce eagle he was.
“We didn’t want you to get embarrassed, The girls from Jyp High were there!”
“Jyp High- Oh my god, some fucking friend you are! You guys are fake! I was dating one of them at the time wasn’t I?”
“I mean, serves you right for wearing hearts on your boxers my guy.”
“I told you my mother bought those!”
“Your mother still buys your underwear?”
“Shut the fuck smartass!”
