Cliffjumper gave a huff as he walked through the corridors of the Ark, hoping to just get back to his habsuite and relax for the day. After fighting against Decepticons he'd been punched, kicked and just generally had a bad time. He had made sure the Decepticon went home with bruises just as bad but he was still feeling roughed up. He just wanted to sleep in a nice berth, hopefully with Mirage as well.
As he entered their joint habsuite he saw the room was empty. Weird, since he knew that Mirage had been discharged before him.
"Mirage?" he called. He stepped forward into the room. Eventually he gave a shrug and headed towards the berth.
Suddenly he felt himself scooped up off his feet. He gave a squeak as he was lifted up into the air. There was nothing there but he felt as if he was being hugged. He was just about to swing his elbow back to get his mystery kidnapper when he felt something nuzzle his head and he knew precisely what was going on.
"Mirage!" he called.
The other mech shimmered into existence, holding Cliffjumper tightly in his arms and rubbing his face up against him.
"Mirage! I nearly smacked you in the face! Can't you just warn me next time?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, my little thing, but it's just too fun to just scoop you up into my arms."
Cliffjumper gave a sigh and quit any sort of struggling. He let Mirage cuddle him and eventually started to settle into the hold. Mirage's arms were nice and warm and cuddly, and just what he needed right now.
"Tough day?" Mirage asked into his audial.
"Yeah... getting cornered by three seekers ain't exactly fun."
Mirage's grip got a bit tighter.
"Oh my poor thing."
"I'm alright now."
"Well, I think we might have to just spend the rest of the day in bed, getting better."
"Yes, that sounds good." Cliffjumper said dreamily as he allowed himself to be carried over to the bed and placed down on it. He often mocked how many pillows and fancy sheets Mirage had but right now he really couldn't complain.
It felt so good as Mirage gathered the sheets around them and cuddled Cliffjumper closer. Cliffjumper hummed as he pulled in closer, feeling perfectly snug and content.
"I love you," he whispered.
"I love you too."
