BOOM! CRACK!! THOOM!!!
The rain poured down hard on Faraway Town. Everyone was inside, waiting until the rain passed. For two people however, they were watching the rain, entranced by the plitters and platters of the storm. The occasional crack of thunder could be heard in the distance.
Sunny and Aubrey were the two watching the rain. The TV was running in the background, but they weren't paying much attention. Rain was Sunny's favorite weather. The raindrops crashing on the ground felt so mesmerizing to him for whatever reason. It was also the perfect time to stay inside and take a nap or two. It felt nice spending it with someone else. Aubrey, on the other hand, hated the rain. There were a multitude of reasons for this, but the main one was that she couldn't go outside and mess around and play activities with anyone. It's not like she could swing with Sunny inside. The rain also made her sleepy. The weather was better with someone else by her side though. And so the two sat in silence, watching the rain crash onto the Earth. Aubrey decides to break the silence.
"Sunny?"
"Yes, Aubrey?"
"Do you wanna talk about anything on your mind? I'm kind of bored right now." Sunny shakes his head.
"Nothing on my mind at the moment. Well, aside from the fact what Mari and Omori are doing."
"Oh, I checked on them earlier! Mari's teaching Omo how to sing properly."
"Oh is she now?"
"She is! Omori's really learning too."
"Glad to see he's not as off-key anymore. Hehe."
"Agreed. Haha." The two are in complete silence once again. This time, Sunny breaks the silence.
"Aubs, do you know where Basie is?"
"Snoozing away in his room."
"I wish I could join him, but I don't wanna wake him up. He needs some rest on his own for a while."
"He did say he's been wanting some alone time lately. Glad to see he's getting more independent."
"As am I." The two are stuck in silence again. Aubrey ropes Sunny close to her with her right arm. This catches Sunny off guard, making him blush. Aubrey blushes too and gives a mischievous grin to her SunBun. She turns around, still holding onto Sunny, deciding to watch TV. Sunny struggles to get out.
"Oh no you don't!" Aubrey says, making sure Sunny doesn't get out of her grip.
"You're not going anywhere SunBun!" Sunny sighs, eventually accepting his situation. Aubrey would shoot an occasional glare at Sunny, making the two of them stifle laughter when one noticed the other. Sunny and Aubrey enjoy this moment for a while, that is until Sunny brings something up again.
"Hey, Aubrey? I've been meaning to ask. Before I went outside again, and after seeing your...living conditions...where did you live?" Aubrey pauses for a second. Sunny can tell she's a bit worried about talking about it.
"...I...didn't have anywhere to go, back then. I didn't want to bother Kim or anyone else, so I lived on the streets for a while. Living off of what I could find. It's another reason I don't like the rain as much as I used to anymore. I got wet and caught colds out there. I had to...find food for Bun Bun just so he could live to see another day in his l-life…"
Sunny hears Aubrey beginning to sniffle and shake.
"B-back then…I-I couldn't remember the last time I a-ate…I...was all alone, then…" Aubrey begins to quietly weep, holding Sunny in a hug.
"A-as much a-as I hated to ad-admit back then...I m-m-missed all of y-you…
I...I missed Kel, H-Hero, Ba-Basil...I missed you th-the most, Sunny. I-I'm so so s-so sorry I abandoned all of y-you…!" Sunny hugs Aubrey back.
"A-Aubrey...it's okay--"
"NO IT ISN'T!" Aubrey wipes tears out of her eyes. Her eyes are shut, still releasing tears.
"I was selfish, Sunny! I abandoned all of you in your time of need! I turned into a horrible person because of me not coping. I made your life worse! Why did you forgive me, WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY--"
"AUBREY, CALM DOWN!"
Aubrey opens her eyes and breathes heavily. She sees Sunny, who looks afraid.
"Aubrey. Please listen. You were coping with Mari's death in your own way. Everyone was. Everyone understands. It's okay."
Aubrey looked at Sunny deeply.
"Sunny, I'm so sorry."
"It's okay."
"I need to stop having emotional breakdowns like this whenever we hang out."
"Again, it's okay, Aubrey. It's fine to release your emotions like that."
"Is it?"
Sunny nods.
"Aubrey, trust me."
"I do! I do."
Aubrey smiles at Sunny. Sunny smiles at Aubrey.
"Thank you Sunny."
"You're welcome Aubrey."
The two return to silence. They look at the rain once again. Seems it picked up a little.
"...Hey, wait, I'm just now noticing this."
"What is it?"
"Your hair is...losing it's dye. Your hair is turning black again." Aubrey looks at her hair. Some of it is indeed losing its dye.
"Oh, it is. Hm."
"...Are you going to dye it again?"
"Nah. I think I'd like to go back to my old hair."
"Why's that?"
"Well, there are a multitude of reasons. But one of the main ones is…oh, I dunno. Maybe a certain someone saying they missed my old hairstyle. Maybe a Suzuki…?"
Sunny blushes. Aubrey notices and chuckles.
"You're too cute, Sunny." Saying that makes Aubrey blush herself. Sunny's face is redder.
"Kiss Already!"
Sunny and Aubrey turn to see Mari, Omori, Stranger, The Headspace Gang (H. Kel, H. Aubrey, H. Hero, and H. Basil), and Basil watching them. Mari, Basil, and Omori are stifling laughter. The Headspace Gang looks a bit embarrassed that they interrupted the moment between Sunny and Aubrey.
Aubrey especially.
Sunny and Aubrey's faces are red.
Mari can't hold in her laughter now, bursting out.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA! Ohhh Sunny…!"
Aubrey covers her face. Sunny, on the other hand, gets confident.
"Y-you know what? Fine!"
Sunny moves Aubrey's hands away from her face and kisses her.
Mari and Basil look impressed.
Omori and Stranger Clap.
Kel, H. Hero, and H. Basil smile at each other, seeing the scene.
Sunny gives a triumphant yet embarrassed smile.
Both the Aubreys pass out.
