Work Text:
Judgement
How does one judge something they will not seek to understand?
With ignorance and prejudice.
Deigned only to accept what is in front of them.
Nothing more. Nothing less. Fools.
How does one judge something they know not an inkling about?
With guesswork and hearsay whispers.
What if, perchance, I had all the answers to the ignorant guesswork and whispers of hearsay prejudices?
What if, perhaps, you gave me a fighting chance to show you my knowledge.
Knowledge to right the wrongs and send your fears scurrying off the cliffs?
I could. I would. I should.
But did you allow me a word in edgewise?
No.
How can one call out songs of fairness and equality,
if appearances and abilities are determined in a moment's passing glance?
I am far more than what meets the eye, you see?
Yet, the last word from above is all that is heard.
No one remembers that beauty is only skin deep.
Go on in your ignorance and selfish world with eyes of lambaste.
May we never cross paths again as I will for a certainty dismiss you at the mere sound of your voice.
Just as you have done so to me in a single disdainful blink.
