When you outshine the sun,
Your brilliance will cover the moonbeams even on the blackest of nights.
The stars will bow at your feet, darling,
They do not forget who the brightest glow in the sky is.
You are my sun.
You make the sun look frail, as if that were truly possible;
yet somehow when you stand before the rising sun,
I see not the halo of light flooding the sky in oranges, pinks and, yellows.
I see none of it, save you.
For what is it worth to me; watching the sun kiss the moon goodnight if I do not have you here with me, my beloved one?
This is the warmth you carry inside. This is the warmth I feel holding your hand.
Hearing your voice caress my ears with talk of summertime adventures is a fire within me.
We watched the world pass by in a dazzling array of bright hues as vibrant expressions of life in all forms,
but without you as my sunlight,
my eyes,
my ever-constant shadow
I am but a figment of a flame’s faint flicker fading away in those hues.
You are my sun.
