    Deacon had survived death twice, a physical and spiritual death. He had first come back as the Courier, allowing it to go to the Bear. The second time as Deacon, the Railroad agent that had just lost his wife. While he had wanted the Courier to stay buried, things in the Commonwealth don't always stay dead. The Legion has traveled east for the past years, his former companions following their trail. When Deacon has finally found peace with Charmer and her son, the past once again rises from the dead.
