    Over and over again, I repeated her name in my mind. I had taken to this habit in the days following the horrible occurrence at the ruined church; I would recite her name in different ways, like a lullaby, but it failed to attract any true slumber. Only a sickly, sticky reverie would come over me, wearying my body instead of replenishing it.
