Work Text:

Crowley was lying on the sofa, wrapped in a blanket, since it was rather cold in London, and cuddling Spike. What's more, he was watching a horror movie that he'd recently heard of. The demon was a big fan of scary movies. He wasn't scared of them. Well, after all, he was a demon. That would be pathetic if a demon was scared of anything, wouldn't it? The plot was actually really gripping so Crowley didn't even notice when the angel left the bookshop. In fact, the blond told him that he was leaving but the ginger was too absorbed with the movie to acknowledge that.

Suddenly, the demon felt that anxiety was growing inside him. He clutched Spike and hugged close to himself. Slowly, he was going in his regression. The remote controller was nowhere near so he snapped his fingers weakly to turn off the TV. But nothing happened.

"No, no, no, no," he started mumbling and looked around the bookshop. "A-angel..." he said with a thin voice. The room was quiet. Too quiet and Crowley didn't like it.

He tried snapping his fingers a few more times but still with no success. The movie was still on and more and more scary things were appearing on the screen. The demon threw the blanket over his head and tried to mute the noises that were messing with his head. Spike was still kept close to the demon. Crowley was breathing heavily, tears were falling down his cheeks.

"Dada, where are you..." he mumbled and jumped a little after another terrifying scream on the TV. He only hoped Aziraphale would be home sooner rather than later.

The demon was so scared that he didn't even heard the little bell ringing when the door to the bookshop opened. Aziraphale stepped inside and looked around, a little concerned about the noises. However, when he remembered that it was the movie Crowley had been watching, he felt better.

"Crowley? I'm back, how's the movie?" he asked but didn't get any answer. Instead, when the sounds in the movie quietened, he heard sobbing. "Darling?"

Aziraphale took a few steps and dropped his bag when he saw a shaking silhouette on the sofa. He quickly realized it was his demon. He snapped his fingers, turning off the TV but the sobbing didn't stop.

"Crowley, dear, could you come out, please?" the angel rubbed the demon's shoulder through the blanket.

Finally, the ginger hair appeared from under the blanket. "Dada," he sniffed and clung to Aziraphale, making Spike fall off the sofa.

"I'm here, my lovely boy," the blond immediately responded and picked Tony up, rubbing his back soothingly. "Can you tell me what happened, Tony?"

The demon wiped his nose with Aziraphale's jacket but the angel didn't really pay much attention to it.

"Movie... Too scary, dada," Tony mumbled.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, buddy, but now dada's here and you're safe with me." Aziraphale felt a slight nod against his shoulder.

"I not wanted be small, I just got scared, dada," the demon sniffed. "I wanna be big, dada, plwease."

Aziraphale sat down on the sofa and placed Tony on his lap. The boy rubbed his eyes as the angel was brushing his hair.

"Crowley, I'd like to talk to you," Aziraphale said softly and stroked the ginger's hair. He leaned his forehead against the angel's chest. "It's time to come back, Crowley," he added, repeating the demon's name.

He let him take a few deep breathes and for a while there was silence between them. The only thing that could be heard were Aziraphale's whispers, encouraging Crowley to come back.

Suddenly, the angel felt a slight movement and the serpent eyes looked into Aziraphale's blue ones.

"Angel, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to," he muttered, visibly exhausted from crying.

"No, Crowley, you don't need to be sorry," Aziraphale said and wrapped his arms around Crowley's neck, rubbing his thumb against the skin on his nape.

"Scared by the movie," the ginger smirked. "A demon, scared. How pathetic is that?" he pointed out, avoiding the angel's look.

"Pathetic? Crowley, please." The blond lifted the demon's chin so they were looking in each other's eyes. "You're everything but pathetic, darling." Crowley sighed loudly but smiled slightly.

"Thank you, angel. I love you," the ginger said and kissed Aziraphale softly. The angel immediately kissed Crowley back.

"I love you too, darling."
