Merlin and Arthur were on another standard hunting trip. Merlin was going to fill up the water skins and Arthur was at the camp starting to actually pack his things himself for once.
Unfortunately, by the time Merlin came back Morgana was gloating to Arthur who was tied up with multiple slash wounds across his body.
Merlin waited for Morgana to go get something to untie Arthur and they both started running away as fast as they could, Merlin supporting some of Arthur's weight.
They kept running until they came before a cliff that dropped off into a crevice too wide to jump over and too deep to safely survive a fall. They turned around to see Morgana who must have realized shortly after that they left and followed them.
"Come on brother. Give it up. You have no options." Morgana taunted as she emerged from the woods.
Merlin looked between the cliff and Morgana as an idea slowly came to him. Unless Arthur got medical attention soon he was doubtful he would come out of this without lasting effects and Merlin had no other options.
He turned to Arthur and looked at him in the eyes. "Do you trust me?" Merlin asked, desperately searching for an answer.
"With my entire being." Arthur responded with just as much sincerely.
"Good. I'm sorry Arthur." He kissed Arthur deeply and sincerely before pushing him off the cliff. Arthur had no time to react and was left falling down with a shocked look on his face.
"Goodbye Morgana." Merlin said before roaring in the dragon tongue to call Killgarah and jumping off himself.
Morgana screamed in rage as Killgarah swooped in and caught Arthur and Merlin on his back before flying away.
"Young Warlock how many times have I told you that I am not a horse." Merlin just snickered before remembering that he just revealed his magic to Arthur.
Arthur stared him in the eyes in shock before hugging him and wrapping him in a kiss that conveyed more emotions than Arthur ever expressed in his life.
Arthur finally pulled away and said, "You will be explaining everything to me later."
"Of course sire." Merlin replied sarcastically before kissing Arthur again barely aware they had already landed in the clearing near Camelot.
They both walked back to Camelot, no longer fearing Morgana at the moment as they had Killgarah guarding their backs making sure they got home safe.
