"It's an open range zoo," Buck says, as though that explains everything. "I was thinking we could make a day of it!" he explains, gesticulating in his excitement in a way that is far too adorable for a thirty-year-old man. (Eddie really needs to get a grip.) "Drive over in the morning, I'll bring coffee and bake something mostly nutritional for breakfast so no one goes hungry, and we go straight to the zoo. Then, you and Chris can sleep in the car if you need and I'll drive us right back home."
Eddie sighs again, but this time it's because he knows he is going to say yes.

“Did you read untagged main character death again?” Eddie asks, his confusion growing as Buck stays silent instead of launching into a rambling of what he’s missed in the tags or what the author didn’t warn them of. One time, he read about nurse 1’s mentor dying, and he had been unconsolable for hours.
“No—” Buck starts, before realizing he has no idea how to explain… this. “Well, I am reading fanfiction. But it’s not supposed to be sad.”
“Ok?” Eddie waits for him to continue.
“Iwasreadingaboutomegaverse,” he mumbles.
