Stiles watched as Theo hurried with Allison over the castle.
King Scott McCall doesn’t look pleased when he saw Stiles entering the hall.
“Theo told me everything that happened in the forest,” Scott told him right away, and Stiles could see Theo snickered at him as Scott continued talking, “You hurt my wife, my queen, and I want you out of my territory, you are no longer welcome here, and Stiles, even if my guards will see you at the gates they will kill you, and I don’t care if your dad will be the one to shoot you.”
“This is it?” Stiles asked, he was furious at his best friend, the man that he grew up with through childhood.
“Are you going to throw out our friendship because of what Theo told you?” Stiles asked since he didn’t get a reply to his question.
“Yes, you are no longer my brother or a friend, say goodbye to your dad and leave.” King Scott told him with a glare.
Stiles never believe that his day will come to leave his dad behind and leave the McCall land and be outside the McCall kingdom.
Stiles picked up his things and went over the post where his dad stood.
“Dad,” Stiles called and added as he saw his dad looking at his backpack in question, “I need to leave, my presence is no longer welcome in here, and I was asked to leave.”
John knelt to hug his son, as he told him, “I wish that I could come with you, son.”
“I know, dad.”
“Promise me, that you won’t get over Deucalion’s kingdom, all I heard is that he sucked your magic and killed you after that, and I don’t want it to happen to you, please son, you are the only family that I got left,” John asked his son.
“If I had no option, I can’t promise,” Stiles told his dad.
“Promise me, that you at least try.”
“I’ll try, and dad, be safe, I don’t trust Theo.”
“Thank you, son, and I’ll keep that in mind.” John smiled at his son, giving him one last hug before he led him over the gates, not knowing when the next time he is going to see him.
Stiles left the kingdom, wanting to be away as much as he could, still can’t believe that his so-called friend kicked him out after everything that he has done for the royal family and that’s how he got treated.
The only kingdom that got in the way toward the Deucalion kingdom is the Hales.
Stiles heard about the alliance with the Argent, as he saw the love between Allison and Scott, but he didn’t know how it’s affected the Hales, all he heard were the rumors, but nothing solid.
Stiles used his powers to feel warm as the snowflakes covered the ground, he opened a portal to grab some food so he won’t be starved.
It took him around six to ten days to reach over Hale’s kingdom, not knowing if he will get a warm welcome but he needs to come prepared for any scenario, Mages weren’t much welcome since the werewolves took control over the lands, and hunters became one because of the alliance.
Stiles told to the guard that he is the court jester, hoped that they let him in.
The guards let him in and led Stiles over the main hall where he could see the king with the red eyes flashing at him.
Next to him, sat a woman with blonde hair, and Stiles couldn’t see the crown on her head but didn’t want to get punished so he said nothing.
Alpha, king Derek, could scent the young man as he entered, followed by the guards.
His scent was reeking from depression and anxiety, that Derek doesn’t know why the young man come over his kingdom.
“Who are you?” Derek asked as he scanned the young man’s appearance.
To Derek, it seemed that the young man stinks, the odor wasn’t satisfying to his nose, he figured that he could deal with one problem at a time.
“He is the court jester, Your Majesty,” Boyd told and bowed to his king.
Boyd and Erica walked back over the door to guard it, while Stiles took one step forward, laid his backpack on the floor, trying to concentrate on the task to entertain the king and not focus on his problem.
“What’s your name?” the king asked.
“My name is Stiles Stilinski, Your Majesty,” Stiles replied, finding himself staring at the king.
Stiles started to act like a jester that he saw once or twice at McCall and used his magic like an illusion.
The king seemed pleased with his performance, but the woman who sat next to him, not so much, as she rose from the chair and walked toward him, pointed a finger as she called, “He is a Mage!”
“I’m a trickster, I mean, the court jester.” Stiles tried to defend himself.
“You should execute him right away!”
Derek could sense the fear from Stiles, he could see that the young man was looking around his shoulders, searching away out, and the king wanted to put a stop to it.
“Guards, lead Stiles over my room!” Derek ordered.
Stiles was panicking, wanted to run away from the guards, and then right there, he opened a portal, found it was the only way out.
Kate pulled a dagger that she had nearby and aimed it over the mage, seemed pleased with herself, hearing the grunt of pain before the portal was closed.
“Guards, hold her at once!” Derek called.
“Peter Hale,” Derek called and his uncle came right away.
“I wanted her executed as fast as you can, and make sure that she is dead!” Derek ordered his uncle.
“Are you going to break the alliance?” Kate asked, mocking him.
“The only reason that I agreed to that alliance was because of your brother and my uncle, I wanted him to be happy,” Derek replied.
“You knew?” Peter asked, looking astonished and relieved at the same time.
“It was hard not to,” Derek replied with a smile, he was glad that his uncle found love, “You two do not need to have secret meeting anymore, and Chris, not need to be quiet anymore, I can hear anything that’s going on in my kingdom.”
Chris and Peter looked happier than he saw them before.
“I’m heading outside with Erica and Boyd, I need to find Stiles,” Derek told his uncle and added, “You two can follow me once you killed her.”
“What are you going to do with Stiles?” Chris asked, ignoring his sister calling for his help.
“Saving him, and then talk,” Derek replied and added, “I could scent his feelings as he soon stepped inside, and now I can’t, I don’t want him to die.”
“Dear nephew, I think that you found your mate,” Peter notified him and added, “I’m happy for you, and I hope that Stiles is still alive, we will join you soon.”
Derek nodded, leaving them to deal with Kate Argent as he walked outside with his guards, searching for Stiles.
Stiles could hear footsteps, knowing that maybe the blood trail could lead them to him.
Stiles cast on himself a spell to be invisible, including the dagger that was still attached to his side, he didn’t want to be found, it was for the best if he found dead, no one needs or wants him anyway, so it won’t be a big loss.
At least he saw king Hale for the first time, remembering the soft talk that the king told him as he came even if it were only questions, but it will suffice him at that moment.
A few minutes later, Chris and Peter joined him for a search party, looking for Stiles.
“Derek, did you see the blood trail?” Peter asked, pointing over the puddle of blood.
“Yes, I did, but there is no one there,” Derek replied and put his finger over the mouth and signals the group to leave the area as he called loudly, “I guess that we should search elsewhere, it might be a trick by the trickster.”
Stiles sighed in relief as he heard the king’s voice, not knowing why the king was outside, to begin with.
Stiles released the invisible spell, letting himself cry quietly from the pain, he could feel himself drowning over the darkness that waited for him.
Stiles didn’t feel when someone lifted or talk softly to him.
When Stiles next woke up, he was surprised that he lay on the soft bed, and the room was heated.
A dark-skinned man was hovering over him.
“Alpha Derek, your mate is awake,” the man told the alpha.
“Ah?” Stiles asked weakly, not knowing who the mate is, and what he is doing in the room, or rather in Hale’s room.
“Here, you need to drink this, and then you can speak,” the dark-skinned man told him with a smile.
Stiles took the drink, smell it to see if there’s any foul play to it, not wishing to get poisoned.
“It’s water, Stiles, drink it, it’s not a poison,” Derek told to the young man softly.
Stiles turned his head slowly toward the voice, but gave the dark-skinned man the glass back, he didn’t want to take any chances, and he doesn’t know if he should trust them.
“Deaton, give me a glass of water too,” Derek told to the dark-skinned man, as Stiles saw the man walk away and bring back a glass of water.
Derek drank the water and gave it to Deaton, “See? It’s water, not a poison, now drink, you’ll need the strength to heal.”
Stiles took the glass and drank it, trying to catch the alpha’s eyes as he did it, and then gave the empty glass to Deaton.
“It wasn’t that bad, huh?” Derek asked, giving his mate a soft smile.
Stiles only nodded and looked at himself, noticing that he was half-naked, the knife wasn’t attached to his body, and the blood was gone, the pain, he could still feel the pain.
“Is he okay, Deaton?” Derek asked the healer as he watched Stiles with concern in his eyes.
“He should be, the wound is under care, Stiles should be fine, or should I address him as a mage?” Deaton replied to the alpha but stared at the mage.
“What are you going to do to me?” Stiles asked, not knowing if they saved him to kill him for later, he didn’t know their intentions.
“We want you safe, you are my mate, Stiles,” Derek replied as he sat beside Stiles on the bed, moving his hand to touch his mate’s arm, and noticed the dark vein as he asked the mage, “Are you in pain?”
Stiles only stared as Derek kept his arm on him, “What is this? What are you doing to me?”
“Do you see the dark vein? I’m relieving you from the pain, I don’t want my mate to be in pain, I want my mate to be happy.” Derek told him with a comforting smile, placing his finger over Stiles’s mouth.
“I’m fine,” Stiles said and tried to move away from the king’s touch, “Can you explain about the mate thing? I don’t think that anyone told me about it.”
Derek sighed, his mate was stubborn, wishing to know why he doesn’t trust anyone, maybe the best way is to help him one step at a time.
“You are my partner, and according to my uncle, I could scent you the moment that you walked inside the hall,” Derek replied, he was still new to the whole mate thing, Derek hoped that his uncle could help explain it.
Stiles nodded, feeling somehow lightheaded as he fainted over the bed.
Derek was feared that there was something wrong with his mate.
“What’s happening to him? You said that he was okay!” Derek told to Deaton, who did not seem to know what was wrong with Stiles.
“He seemed fine before,” Deaton replied to the king and trying to find the cause of what might be brought Stiles fainting and not responding.
Deaton searches Stiles’s body to see if he’s got any hidden injuries that they don’t know about it, figures that there should be an explanation to it.
Deaton found a puncture wound and as he pokes it, Stiles woke with a startle.
“Stiles, hey, what’s wrong?” Derek tried to calm him down.
“Where did you get the puncture wound on your back?” Derek asked, trying to look at his mate’s eyes.
“Puncture wound?” Stiles asked weakly, as he tried to remember where he got it.
“Oh, that puncture wound, it’s a poison, I believed, I forgot to heal myself,” Stiles replied.
“Is there anywhere to fix it?” Derek asked, not wishing to lose his mate so fast.
“Yes, there is, but you’ll have to do whatever I’m going to tell you and not do anything,” Stiles replied, not knowing if the king is going to believe him but knowing that’s the only way.
“I’ll do anything,” Derek promised.
“You’ll have to let me die to live again, and you’ll need to do whatever comes out of my body and agrees to it, otherwise, I can remain dead,” Stiles replied, looking at the king, knowing that his fate depends on the king.
“I understand,” Derek sighed heavily.
“Deaton, leave us!” Derek asked from the healer, wishing to be alone with his dying mate, hoping that he won’t lose him.
After Deaton left, Derek asked Stiles, “Tell me what I need to know, before it will be too late.”
“After I’ll die, you’ll see the golden light curve of a Phoenix, once you replied all the questions about my welfare, I should be fine, alive with no poison in my body and I will be fully healed,” Stiles replied.
“Did it happen to you before?” Derek asked, saw his mate nodding before he laid on the bed and Derek no longer could hear his heartbeat.
Right after, the creature rose from Stiles’ lifeless body, just like his mate’s said.
The Phoenix asked him if he will be taking care of Stiles, and when Derek replied that he will, the Phoenix asked him again, would you have his back if something will happen? Derek replied that he will and he would never let Stiles let go of him.
With Derek answered, the Phoenix sank over Stiles’s body and Derek watched his mate, as he rose from the dead, he could hear the heartbeat, it was a sound to his ears.
“Stiles, are you okay?” Derek asked, was relieved when the Phoenix was away.
Stiles opened his eyes as he replied, “I am, thank you.”
“No need, I’m going to make sure that everyone will know that you are mine!” Derek told him with a wide smile, relieved that his mate was alright.
“You won’t hurt me here?” Stiles asked the last time that woman throw a knife over him.
“No one will hurt you, and that woman that hurt you, is dead, she won’t do that again, I promise,” Derek replied, holding his mate as he enjoyed hearing the heartbeat beating.
Stiles nodded, and then he asked, “Can I bring my dad from the McCall kingdom?”
Before Derek could reply, there was a knock on the door.
“Come in,” Derek called.
Peter, Chris, and Deaton came inside.
“You are alive,” Deaton pointed it out.
“Yes, I am, thanks to him,” Stiles replied and motioned over the king, and then he asked, “Who are you?”
“I’m Peter, this is my mate – Chris Argent.” Peter introduced himself and his mate.
“I’m Deaton, known as the healer,” Deaton told Stiles as the mage nodded toward him.
“Argent, you related to Allison?” Stiles asked.
“Yes, she’s my daughter, since the alliances we all got split to other kingdoms,” Chris explained and asked, “Do you know her?”
Stiles nodded.
“How did you get the poison on your back?” Deaton asked.
“Oh, about that, it started when king Scott, sent me, Theo, to bring his queen through the forest, I don’t know what’s happened, but we were attacked and I tried to save Allison from the monster but didn’t even feel that I got stubbed by the tail and it left the poison in me.”
“Allison? Was she happy with Scott?” Chris asked, it’s been a while since he saw his daughter, they were split over the kingdoms.
“Yes, she was,” Stiles replied and added, “I hate the way that King McCall handled things, and I’m sorry, but after I’m going to save my dad, I’m going to deal with the McCall kingdom, alone.”
“Not alone, you have us,” Derek added and was glad that he met Stiles’s eyes, and the mage nodded to him in agreement.
“You have to do whatever I tell you because I’m going to deal with McCall with my power and there’s no way back after I pulled my dad from this dreadful territory.” Stiles requested as he stared at each one.
“What are you going to do?” Peter asked.
“I’m going to do the same as I was treated, been kicked away, so, I’m going to use the power that I have to kick the kingdom away, and my mate, my king, my alpha could have a large landscape for the kingdom to grow,” Stiles replied, still feeling awkward to say those words toward king Derek.
“You are going to be fine,” Peter told him with a smile, and added, “Derek is the missing soul that you have been searching all your life, he is your mate, Stiles.”
“Yeah, I got it, but have trouble to process it,” Stiles admits, feeling himself blushing, never felt like this toward someone.
“A kiss for good luck?” Derek asked his mate.
He can do it, Stiles told to himself as he could feel the stubble from the king’s face moment before Derek kissed him.
The kiss was soft, for Stiles, it felt perfect, as Stiles kissed him back.
Derek looked at Stiles after the kiss, brushing his finger softly over his mate’s face, “Kiss again after you’ll finish with the McCall’s?”
“Yes…” Stiles replied softly, can’t avert his eyes from the king’s eyes, felt enchantress by him as Stiles give him a kiss on the cheek.
“How do you feel?” Chris asked.
“I felt like I found the missing piece just like your mate said, never thought that I had a mate in the first place,” Stiles replied.
“The mate is for life, soon to be king, Stiles,” Peter told him with a smile.
“King? Never thought that I will be one, but I love the sound of it,” Stiles told him and then stared at his king.
“All in due time, first bring your dad, and then we can plan everything, no need to hurry, I have you for life,” Derek assured him with a smile.
--
Around seven days, they arrived at the gate of the McCall’s.
“Step back, I don’t want you to get hurt,” Stiles told his new pack, he was glad to feel belong and loved as he added talking to himself, “Now it’s time to save my dad and treat you the same you did to me.”
Stiles flew, making sure to make a bubble so the guards won’t take a shot at him when they see him.
Stiles pulled his dad and landed him on the ground.
“Derek, take him away, I’ll be back shortly, just don’t stand closer to the castle,” Stiles said and focused on the spell as he flew.
He covered the McCall’s kingdom with enormous bubbles, that way they couldn’t harm him, and then Stiles cast a spell of shrinking, as the kingdom was shrunken to a ball, rather a small ball on the size of a pinkie, and then with a satisfied smile he throws it over the unknown landscape, not caring if it’ll break to different pieces, he was done with the McCall’s.
Stiles landed, feeling happy.
Derek hurried over his mate the sooner that he landed.
“Are you feeling okay?” Derek asked with concern in his voice.
“Never better, thank you, my king,” Stiles replied, feeling the warmth from his mate, feeling safe and secure.
“Can I?” John asked the king.
“Of course, you are his family,” Derek replied and let go from Stiles.
Derek watched them hugging.
“I’m okay, Dad, I swear,” Stiles tried to reassure his dad.
“Actually, there’s a story there,” Derek implied.
“Can you tell me all about it on the way to your kingdom, King Derek?” John asked, remembering the name that Stiles called.
“I will,” Derek confirmed, holding Stiles closer to him, sniffing his scent, and added, “I love you.”
Stiles blushed; he wasn’t prepared for it.
“If it wasn’t for McCall’s kicking you out, I would never meet my mate, but I’m glad that you took care of the kingdom,” Derek told him softly, kissing him softly, and then he added, “I’m so glad that you are my mate, the one that holds my heart.”
Derek moved his finger toward Stiles’s lips, “No talking, you are going to rest and gather your strength, you used lots of magic, and Stiles, I have you for all of our tomorrows.”
Stiles smiled as he rested, his dad was taken care of by their companion.
He could sleep without worrying about his life, someone is taking care of him.
