The Wedding that we've all been waiting for

Summary:

Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle are finally tying the knot and everyone wants to be there to see it.

Notes:

So I finally brought this story back. What made me do it. Well, it none other than Peace maker bringing back my love for DC and rewatching Daredevil and Punisher on Netflix before they leave. I'm one episode away from Punisher and 4 episodes of Daredevil. Gotta a lot binging to do. Hell, I'm finishing up Punisher as I wrote this.

Chapter 1: Wedding planning and reactions

Chapter Text

Bruce Wayne, wearing a white T shirt and some sweats, was currently overlooking the list for his and Selina’s wedding list.

“Some people still haven’t RSVP’d?” Selina Kyle, his future wife asks, wearing simply one of his dress shirts, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and resting her head on top of his.

“Yes. Oliver, Peter, Talia, Ghost-Maker, Dick and a few others.” Bruce replies.

“Have you given any thought on you best man and groomsmen?”

“Probably Clark. He and I are good terms again. Oliver and Peter as my groomsmen. I think Jason should be one but I also want Ghost-Maker as well.”

“Hey, you never told me his real name?” Selina asks.

“He made me promise I’d never tell anyone his real name or let them see his real face. Only five people on the planet have and I’m one of them.” Bruce answers honestly.

“Well seems I’m gonna have my work cut out to convince him.” Bruce snorts at that, making Selina raise an eyebrow at him.

“I’d buy that for dollar.” Bruce grins. Selina slaps his shoulder (with no real force) and sits down on the chair next to him, looking over the list with him.

“Wait, you’re inviting the Autobots!?” Selina asks.

“Yes, though it might be a bit impractical as they are giant robots with weapons that make world militaries look like plastic kid toys.”

“Well, we are having it on the Manor as doing it in a Church would just be impossible with the amount of people who are gonna be there.” Selina says, Bruce nodding his head.

“Agreed. Have you figured who’s gonna be your Maid of Honor and Bridesmaid along with carrying you down the aisle?”

“Lois. She and I have gotten close, especially when having to deal with Jon and Damian. Pam and Harley are my bridesmaids. I think I’m also gonna ask Talia.” Bruce, while drinking from a water bottle, spits some out and even choke a bit. Selina smiles at him, patting his back. “Relax, I’m asking Sara and I have a feeling she’ll agree. For the aisle, would Alfred or Ted mind walking and/or handing me down?”

“I’d think either of them be honored.”

“Okay, maybe we should take a break and leave it for tomorrow. It’s 3 in the morning and I need my beauty sleep.” Selina says. Bruce, grinning, grabs Selina by the waist. She yelps in surprise but her legs wrapping his waist and he carries her to his… their bed.

In Star City, Oliver and Sara, in their Green Arrow and Black Canary suits, were fighting some Ra’s loyalists. With them were Arsenal and Artemis, the four having been patrol but were ambushed by the loyalists. They were in an in-construction building. Oliver was currently beating on one of them while Sara took two more behind him. Roy was firing on them from a distance while Thea used her Escrima sticks to block and counter the loyalist’s sword attacks. After a minute or two, they are surrounded by their unconscious bodies on the ground.

“Been a while since I’ve fought ninjas. Didn’t miss it.” Roy says tiredly, clutching his stomach in pain.

“Same” Thea agrees with her boyfriend, both of their chest heaving in exhaustion at not fighting League of Assassins in a long time.

“Hey Ollie, did you RSVP for Bruce and Selina’s wedding?” Sara asks her husband, who raises an eyebrow at her.

“Not yet, why?”

“Cause apparently Bruce asked you to be one of his groomsmen and Selina asked me to be one of her bridesmaids.” Sara says, her husband’s eyes looking they were about to pop out of their sockets.

“Let’s get back home and send out confirmation. I am not missing the wedding of the century, especially after having seen them dance for so many years that me and the League had bets on when they were going to get married. Seems Clark lost and I won.” Oliver says smugly.

“Wait, you won?” Sara asks in shock. She had heard about the bet but Oliver never confirmed it despite numerous attempts to ‘persuade’ him.

“Yup. I had money that Selina and Bruce would marry before they had kids and Clark said the opposite. I won the bet, boy scout.” Sara smiles at her husband.

“BatCat one, WonderBat zero.” Roy says smugly, desperately wanting to see the look on Dick’s face right now. Thea raises an eyebrow at him.

“They still thought Diana and Bruce were going to be happen despite the latter getting married and the former being back with her old boyfriend?” Thea asks incredulously.

“Yup even they were simply physical attracted to each other, not emotionally.”

“I’m still not over the fact Clark thought they’d have kids before they got married and you thought they opposite.” Sara said, earning looks from Roy and Thea.

“Despite them hooking on the rooftops a lot, I knew Bruce and Selina were careful with

“Alright enough, let’s head back to the Bunker and then go home to confirm we are going.” Oliver orders

In New York, Spider-Man was fighting off Rhino, trying to avoid being hit his punches.

Peter, did you RSVP for the wedding?” Gwen asks over the phone connected to his mask.

“I’m little busy, honey but to answer your question, no, I didn’t and I know he asked me to be one of his groomsmen. Of course, I’ll be there.” Peter answers. He takes out Rhino with double kick to the face, knocking him out cold. He leaves the scene on he sees the Cops arrive.

On the roof top he lands, he sees Venom, both Scarlet Spiders, Daredevil, Black Sky, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Punisher, Wolverine and Miles Morales.

“Let me guess, you’re all going as well?” Peter asks rhetorically.

“Got it in one Bub.” Logan says, smoking a cigar. “And Incase you’re wondering, Jubilee said she was okay with watching Ben so you, Gwen and Felicia can go.” Peter sighs in relief. While he loves his son, Benjamin Walter Parker Hardy, with all his heart and would go to hell and back for him and even kill if the need arises, he needs a break. From his duties as Spider-Man, being Head of the Science Division and R&D at OSCORP and being a loving father, husband and boyfriend, he was stretching himself a bit too thin.

“Good. Same goes with Jack?” Peter asks, referencing Matt and Elektra son.

“Foggy’s babysitting him. Said he’s only doing it cause ‘he’s my nephew and is the most precious thing in the world despite his parents’.” Matt says the last part in air quotation marks.

“Hey what are we, chopped liver?” They turn to see Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo, the latter grinning at them.

“You guys too?” Peter asks.

“Yup. Not sure how we are all gonna fit in a church but eh.” Raph shrugs.

“Probably doing in the Manor. Be safer that way.” Peter muses. Still, this wedding will most certainly be interesting and he isn’t missing it for anything.

Except maybe Ben though might just take despite him trusting Jubilee. Despite what some people might believe, Peter did have his own paranoia, especially when it came with the people he cared about. It’s one thing he and Bruce can heavily relate in some cases.

At the Special Forces base, Sonya was currently dealing some paper work. Johnny handed her a freshly brewed cup of coffee.

“Thanks.” Sonya says before taking a sip.

“So, we going to the wedding?”

“Us, Cassie, Jax, Jaqcui, Takeda, Kenshi, Nightwolf, the Monks, Stryker and Kabal? Probably. Hanzo, the Lin Kuei, Raiden, Fujin, Edenians and Outworlders? Depends.” Sonya answers honestly.

“Yeah, but I still think we should all take a few days. You look like you haven’t sleep in a week.”  Johnny notes, his wife yawning after he finishes.

“You’re right. I need think we all need a break. The kids are barely to stay awake and we aren’t that better.” Sonya concedes, earning shocked looks from Jax, Stryker and Kabal, who just entered her office moments ago.

“You… a break? That’s it, I’ve heard it all.” Jax throws up his arms in defeat.

“Honestly, we all need it. Even I’m running on fumes.” Stryker admits. Kabal’s phone rings. He sees its Kenshi and answers it, putting him on speaker.

You deal with the Monks, Lin Kuei, Nightwolf, Raiden, and Fuijn. I’ll handle Hanzo, Lin Kuei, the Edenians and Outworlders” Kenshi said and then hung up.

“Well, guess we’re going back to that hellhole. I’ll book the flights and hotels.” Johnny says after a while.

At Lin Kuei temple, Grandmaster Kuai Liang was meditating after having a very long and grueling day after training the new students. Bi-Han and Sareena were doing Elder Gods know what and Tomas and Frost were dealing some paperwork he had asked him and Frost to take care of at least some of it as he was too tired.

He was broken out of his musings when he heard small, barely noticeable but he could thanks to his peak human senses. He turns to find a Katana inches away from his throat.

“Your hearing is failing, Kuai.” The attacker says, an air of smugness around him.

“I recognized your footsteps, Hanzo.” Kuai replies smartly. The Shirai Ryu Grandmaster sheathes his Katana and takes out a wedding invitation, one Kuai recognizes immediately.

“Not going.” Kuai answer quickly.

“Why? It’s the wedding that we’ve waited for years and it’s finally happening. Me, Harumi and Satoshi are certainly going, no questions asked.” Hanzo asks, confused.

“Gotham is a fucking hellhole I like to avoid as much as possible, thank you very much.”

“You do realize the City’s crime has gone down in the last year, right?”

“Still a hellhole.” Hanzo raises an eyebrow at him.

“Who did you fuck last time you visited?” Hanzo asks suddenly.

“Nobody though I did see Queen Hyppolyta, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and Carol Danvers give me the fuck me eyes during the party at Wayne Manor over a year ago.” Hanzo snorts, making Kuai flip him the bird like the mature adult he is.

“So, you’re afraid they’ll make you screw their brains out. Kuai, they won’t force you to do anything you don’t want to do. They all know what’s like to be… coerced.” Hanzo finished grimly, a small flicker of hellfire in his eyes the Kuai notices but doesn’t comment. After a few moments, the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei sighs.

“Fine, I’ll go but I’m staying close to you idiots.”

“You can watch Satoshi if me and Harumi wish to be alone.” Kuai makes a retching sound at that.

“Didn’t need to know that bit but thanks though Li Mei might be there and I’m kinda scared.” Kuai admitted sheepishly. Hanzo face palmed at his friend.

“That was over a decade ago, Kuai. You are going, whether by your own choice or me, Tomas and Bi-Han dragging you there.”

“Fine but I’m getting drunk. Can’t do that with the students here, so I’m taking advantage of that.” Hanzo simply sighed tiredly, knowing he wouldn’t be able to convince the Cryomancer otherwise. He was going to leave that to Bi-Han and Tomas cause Hanzo was just that petty every now and then.

On Cybertron, Optimus had just finished a meeting via video call with the United Nations and he was tired. He understood human politics but that didn’t mean he didn’t hate them any less. Galloway, Waller and Lane especially got on his nerves but he thankfully always managed to keep a cool head though he still considered the Outlaws offer on removing them via ‘discreet measures’. While he would usually say no with absolute certainty, he did consider given Galloway had helped Attinger and Cemetery Wind hunt him and his autoboots for years and Waller required no explanation. Still, Superman, Captain America and a few other heroes who helping him with Government certainly saved a lot of headaches.

“Tired?” Elita-One, who entered his meeting room a few seconds ago.

“A little.” Optimus admitted.

“I think we should all take a break. Even the others are starting to complain about the workload.” Elita informs him.

“You are right. We should all take some time off but what do you suggest we do?” She holds a hologram invitation to Bruce and Selina’s wedding. Optimus raises a metaphorical eyebrow at her.

“You sure Ironhide, Hound, and Crosshairs won’t burn the Manor down?”

“I’m sure Chromia won’t mind watching and keeping them in line. Prowl and Ultra Magnus can keep things in line for the time being. It’s only a few days and you seriously need a break.”

“And the other two don’t?”

“Prowl and Ultra Magnus live for work. If they were to be removed from that, they’d have a meltdown in seconds.” Elita answers without missing a beat.

“…Fine even though Primes aren’t meant to be a part of celebrations.” Optimus sighs in defeat.

“No, you’re just an introvert and a workaholic like every one of our human friends.” Elita summarizes. Optimus, despite himself, smiles. There’s a reason he fell in love with Elita-One. Even after all these years and even losing her three times, she was still by his side. How he ever got so lucky to have her as his Sparkmate, he’ll never know.

Jason Todd was currently the single happiest man on the planet. His adoptive father was finally getting married to the woman who had been a second mother to all his brothers and sisters over the years. He was currently in Nanda Parbat with Tim, both Thomas (Senior and Junior) and Martha dealing with some League tradionalists. Still weird having another grandfather and grandmother but their ain’t exactly a normal family in the traditional sense so… In other news, Ghost-Maker, Azrael (Jean Paul-Valley), Phantasm (Andrea Beaumont), Huntress (Helena Bertinelli), and Ravager (Rose Wilson) tagged along, wanting to get out of Gotham for a bit (Asia in Ghost-Maker’s case) and they had finished off the last of Ra’s loyalists.

Which was good as now he can kick back, take a break, watch his dad shit himself on his wedding day and get blackout drunk during the Bachelorette party without needing to worry too much.

He looked at Tim, who had gained a lot of muscle the past year and even gained a few inches in height. He was taller than Dick but Jason still beat him by half an inch. He saw him talking with Rose and Helena, all of them seeing quite comfortable with each other, Tim and Rose especially. While most would disregard it as paranoia, Jason and the other Bats like to think it was being practical. Still, Tim seemed a lot lighter and happier, so different from the Tim who nearly took his own life a month and a half before the giant battle in Gotham that resulted all their Earth’s merged into the New Earth Prime. Jason still struggled with that even after a year or so.

He’s broken out of his mussing when Talia, Slade, Shiva and Nyssa enter the room, seeing them all mostly unharmed barring a few scrapes and bruises.

“Thank you for your assistance. Owal had been gathering allies for months now and he would have succeeded had it not been for your help.” Talia said to them gratefully though still chastising herself for being blind to Owal’s attempted coup.

“No problem, T. Just promise us you’ll be at the wedding and we’ll call it even.” Talia froze for a split second, something Jason, Tim, Nyssa, Slade, Shiva and everyone else in the room all noticed.

“So long as Damian and Athanasia are there... so will I.” Talia said carefully.

“Good. Bruce might convince Lyla to see if we can let Tallant out for a few days. He’s mellowed out.” Tim informs them. He then adds: “For the most part.”

“He’s acts like a lion but is really just a cuddly puppy on the inside.” Jason adds, he, Tim, and the other having visited Tallant over time, slowly mellowing to Bruce and his family. To Talia, he still gave the cold shoulder but was for the most neutral with her, which was probably the best they were going to get given all the shit she put him through.

He warmed up to Bruce however, the two growing close and Tallant even let slip on Bruce’s last visit two days ago with Selina, Damian and Athanasia ‘father’, which may or may not have made Bruce’s eyes water. He even liked Nyssa, which was good cause she was also going to be there if only to ‘see’ Oliver and Sara. Jason didn’t need to know more than that, thank you very much.

“Of course.” Talia answers neutrally.

“So um, Rose are you and Joey going to be there?” Slade asks his daughter, trying to move away from the awkward conversation.

“I am but not sure about Joey though. He’s been working nonstop, running himself ragged. Adeline even had to step in and tell him to take a nap once. He was asleep for ten hours straight, Dad.” Slade sighs, also worried for his middle child. Joey had been pushing himself hard ever since Grant was revealed to be alive during the battle of Gotham. Guess he wasn’t taking an actual vacation but instead have to watch over his son.

“I hope he’ll be there so he and I can talk.” Slade tells his daughter.

“Me too.”

“All right, so are you gonna be there, Ghost? Bruce told me you’re one of his groomsmen.” Jason tells the Asia based vigilante.

“Sure, why not. All the food, drinks and bed warmers I could ever ask for.” Ghost smirks at some of the other’s reactions at the last one. They were still not use to his seriously hedonistic lifestyle though he had dialed it down a bit.

“Well, I’d never thought I’d seen my son’s wedding. I’m not missing that for the world.” Thomas said after being silent for a while.

“Same here.” Martha added.

“You think I’m going to miss this golden opportunity to mess with him? Hell no.” Thomas Jr. said gleefully.

“Well guess we better start packing.” Jason ordered to the other Bats.

In the Devil May Cry office, Dante was scrolling over his mail. He stopped when saw something that made his eyes widen in shock. He doesn’t even blink when Vergil opens a portal and he steps out alongside Nero, the father and son duo having been together in Fortuna. Lady, Trish and Lucia enter through the office doors shortly after the portal closes.

“You all got invitations?” Dante asks, not even looking up from reading said invitation. They all raises their invitations, clearly answering his question.

“Well good thing I’ve already got a plus one.” Nero remarks.

“I’m going, if only for the free food and beer.” Dante said, earning an exasperated but also expecting look from Vergil, who’s face screamed ‘Why are you, you?’.

“Still, think I could score a few. You heard about that Ghost-Maker guy? Heard he’s kinda hot.” Trish remarks.

“True though Owl-Man is more type. Tall as a mountain built like brickhouse.” Lady said dreamily.

“Heard he was screwing Shiva, so you lost him.” Nero informed her.

“Shame but how do you know?” Lady asked.

“Jason told me right before he proceeded to empty his lunch.” Nero said, earning a few raised eyebrows. “It was the anniversary of one of his tragedies, don’t judge him.” Nero added with a glare.

“Still, given how many conflicting personalities are gonna be there, it’s a chemical mixture that’s going to explode. Hopefully, it does not but one needs to be pragmatic.” Vergil said, a grim look on his face.

“You do realize we’ve all worked together and have been friends for years, in some cases in decades, right?” Lucia reminds him pointedly.

“Yes, but many have also had falling outs and even been in relationships that ended poorly.” Vergil coldly remarks.

“Are just looking for an excuse to not be around that many people? Like, Bruce’s introvert but you take it too far.” Dante said from where he was sitting, earning a sour look from his twin.

“No because I’m unfortunately have to go as Batman requested. I’ll be there to keep anything from going awry.” Vergil said coldly.

“Well, you ain’t gonna win any points with that sparkling personality of yours.” Dante quipped, earning a growl from his older twin.

“Do you both want bitch slaps?” Nero growled, his ethereal arms cracking their knuckles, earning an audible click for when Dante’s shut his mouth and even Vergil had a small sliver of fear. “Good, we are all going and gonna have some fun but if you start any bullshit, I’ll make you wish Batman used his Agamemnon contingencies on you guys.”

“Well, one can’t certainly deny this wedding will but anything but dull.” Trish remarked, earning snorts from Nero, Dante, Lucia and Lady along with a scowl from Vergil. This wedding was certainly going to be very interesting.
