Chapter Text
Ladybug tried to make as little noise as possible. She could hear the noise they made as they searched the building.
“Come on out, Marinette, we just want to share this gift with you,” Boarella called out.
Marinette could see her in her black and pink costume, standing in the middle of the room.
“We just want to be friends again. I know my cat pal would be very happy to see you,” Violet Tigress giggled.
Flashbacks of a destroyed and flooded city filled her mind. It took everything she had for her not to scream.
“You loved him as Adrien. You loved him as Chat Noir. You'll love him as Chat Blanc too,” continued Borella, “Let me show you. Perfect Gift!”
Suddenly, Ladybug found herself alongside her friends in her kitty’s arms.
They were hanging out, there were no more secrets between them, and Hawk Moth had been defeated.
It was everything she ever wanted, and all she had to do was reveal herself and let them take her…
She came to her senses to find she had been seconds away from stepping out of her hiding place.
She shivered at how the akuma had not just enhanced the power of the Pig but all their Miraculous, and that they were using all this power to track her down so they could do the same to her.
Two figures entered the room, one in a dark brown costume and the other with a pair of horns, though the right one was broken. The one in dark brown was wearing a crown on his head. “I don’t think she's here,” Minotyrant said, Emperor Monkey nodding his head in agreement.
Boarella sighed, “I guess you're right.”
“Don’t worry, we'll find her and make her one of us,” Violet Tigress said while hugging her girlfriend and making a low growling sound.
Boarella smiled, “Yes, and we will be friends forever.”
Marinette remained still for what felt like hours after they left, just to be sure they were gone, until finally, she crawled out of the closet she had taken shelter in. Fortunately, the cloth she had hung over it had camouflaged it from her pursuers.
“Spots Off,” she immediately collapsed and hugged her Kwami.
“Tikki! They almost had me. I don’t know how much longer I can keep this up!”
“You can’t give up, Marinette. You're the only one who can fix this.”
Marinette sighed, “I know, but we're running out of options. Sooner or later, they're going to catch us.”
“Then we have to try something different, something they won’t expect.”
“I know, but I just can’t see how.”
“You’ll think of something you always do.”
Marinette smiled. Tikki was the only bright spot in this dark time. She didn’t know what she would have done without her.
“Okay, let's go, Tikki, Spots On!”
She never left a building without transforming.
She didn’t dare.
There was no sign of anyone on the streets. And not a sound to be heard. The same as the last few days.
She didn’t see any sign of Polyrats or Vesper Queen’s wasps, so she quickly ran through the streets and alleyways to her next hideout while her mind drifted to the beginning of all this.
