Work Text:

i didn't realize you were
reading my story.
what does it feel like to
keep reading the same thing?
the words differ but the meaning is there.
i guess reading it
is not so different to living it.
living means dying a little. the words bleed on the pages too, what difference is there?
the difference is you can turn the pages. but if they're all the same, what are you turning for?

        you turning for?
     are              what
   what                  are
  for?                     you
turning                   turning
  you                     for?
   are                   what
    what               are
        for? turning you

i didn't realize you were still reading.
what does it feel like to read words
looping back around?
this story doesn't have an end. i'm not sure what it's about.
it’s about everything and nothing, and if i say one then it is the other.
when did you start reading? the question can't be asked: you don't have an answer.
then why do you keep reading?
maybe you're reading because it makes it more bearable.
living.
maybe you're reading because you want to know what it's like for others.
i guess it doesn't matter.

for others you're reading because you want to know what it's like for others you're reading

are you still reading? a new day is starting.
it's nothing you haven't seen,
it's nothing you don't know.
i'll eat my fingers the same way i did yesterday and i'll do the same tomorrow.
i don't know where i'm going with this. back to the beginning?

the beginning is:

i didn't realize you were reading my story.
do you like to keep reading the same thing?
the words differ but the meaning is there.
turn the pages backward. look, the story still goes on. nothing new will come out of reading the same thing over and over again.
don't say i'm ungrateful. i didn't ask for this. you don't have to keep reading i promise things won't change.
even when life changes it circles back to this.
it's the only thing it knows
or it's the thing it knows best.
two years ago the same thing happened
and two years ago i told you this:
life repeats itself.
the words bleed and i bleed with them.
is it my fault you’re still reading?
