Kate and Yelena were walking in Central Park, enjoying the sights and sounds around them, when someone suddenly came up to Kate.
He was a tall man, with blond hair and a green scarf. He walked right up to Kate, stopping her in her path. “Um…hello?” Kate said, confused by the unfamiliar person in front of her.
“Hi, I’m Micheal,” the man said. “And I couldn’t help but notice that you are very beautiful. Can I have your number?”
Kate blinked in surprise, unaccustomed to strange men coming up to her and asking for her number. Yelena stepped in front of her, making Micheal take a step back.
Kate had never thought of Yelena as particularly threatening, but now, seeing her glare at Micheal, Kate thought she was downright scary. “She’s with me.” Yelena said coldly. “And I’m sure she does not want your number.”
Yelena looked quickly back at Kate to confirm. Kate nodded. Yelena turned back and took a slow step toward Micheal. “So I suggest you leave, before I make you leave,” she said.
Micheal turned around and walked away quickly, throwing nervous glances over his shoulder as he did. Yelena turned back to Kate, a smug smile on her face.
Kate smiled back and hugged her tightly. “That was very helpful,” she said. Yelena kissed the top of her head gently. “Of course, Kate Bishop,” Yelena said. “Anything to keep you with me.”
Kate grinned and kissed Yelena deeply.
“I’ll always be with you.”
