Chapter Text
Tommy was in a bit of a pickle at the moment.
He was having a normal day, going out on patrol and kicking bad guys' asses, as usual, but then he just had to get interrupted by some Daredevil reject trying to arrest him… what the hell?
Tommy ran across buildings, hopping from roof to roof as he could hear the footsteps of the hero behind him. He thinks it was a hero, anyway. Unless some dude in cosplay decided to play cops and robbers.
Tommy will be honest, he has no idea who this guy is. Tommy isn't up to politics these days, he only knows of a few heroes here and there. He mainly keeps up with heroes that patrol around his neighborhood, since he has no real reason to worry outside that. But this guy? Tommy had never seen him before.
He wore a black blindfold around his eyes. How the hell was he meant to see through that? He had a stitched up yellow sweater, a black trenchcoat, and some big black boots. He looked pretty basic to be honest, but he was chasing Tommy down and that was enough of a sign for Tommy to get the hell out of there.
Tommy hopped to another building, skidding across the floor in an attempt to not fall off. He could hear the stomp of boots right behind him. The boy was unaware of the punch that was about to be thrown this way.
“Well I know now, prick!” He shouted, twirling around and jumping out of the way before the punch could hit him.
“What the hell!? Bit uncalled for, dontcha think?” He spat at the hero, crossing his arms.
“Uncalled for?? I-” The hero stammered, growling a bit. “You're a criminal ! I think it’s pretty called for!”
“Criminal!?” Tommy placed a hand to his chest, letting out a dramatic gasp. “I am no criminal, I beat up bad guys!”
“Illegally!”
“Legal, illegal, who really keeps up with the law anymore?” Tommy grinned sheepishly under his mask, slowly backing himself towards the edge of the roof.
“I do!” The hero shouted, visibly frustrated.
“Who even are you anyway?” Tommy asked, humor in his voice. “You look like you're supposed to be at some con right now.”
The hero paused, his mouth scrunching up a bit.
“You- You don't know who I am?” He questioned. Jeez, this guy must have a real ego. Tommy stood quiet, the hero stammered. “Im- Im Siren! You know, the #4 hero? Member of the SBI?” Tommy only shrugged.
“Siren? Jeez, definitely haven't heard that one before.” Tommy commented as he rolled his eyes.
“What? Siren is a super creative name!” The hero, or Siren, shouted.
“I wasn’t talking to you , drama geek.”
Siren looked confused, but Tommy didn’t bother explaining himself.
“Drama geek!? I- Look, whatever! You’re going to jail, Theseus!” Siren shouted, getting into an offensive position.
“Oh, you know my name? I must be quite the catch in the hero tower.” He remarked with a giggle, loving the way he messed with the hero. He was in fact quite a catch. As a matter of fact, after recent events of Theseus busting bad guys, most heroes have made it their goal to try and capture the vigilante.
“Wait, what? ” Tommy questioned in shock,
“Huh?” Siren questioned. The hero was starting to think this vigilante had a few screws loose.
“Hey, fuck you! I don't have any screws loose!” Tommy shouted, growling a bit.
“What—“ Siren started, but could finish before he saw Theseus backing off the roof. That's when he realized that Theseus was gonna jump! Just that's okay, because he had a plan! He’d just use his voice and command the vigilante to stop! Siren opened his mouth, but before he could even finish his sentence, Theseus was covering his ears. “What-?? I thought you didn’t know who I was!? How do you—”
“Sorry, can’t hear you!” Tommy shouted before jumping off the building. He could see Siren run over to the edge and look down, and Tommy grinned under his mask. He spun around a bit before spreading out his red and white wings, hoisting himself up into the air.
Tommy turned around and looked down at the frustrated hero and grinned, sending a wink his way before flying away. He unplugged his ears once he got far enough, hearing the distant shouts of the hero.
“Prime, the idiot didn’t even try chasing after me.” He muttered. “This is terrible story writing.”
Suddenly, a bird flew directly into Tommy's face. The blond yelps as he stumbles down, losing balance. He groans as he flaps his wings, regaining a steady pace as he glides through the air.
”Very fuckin’ mature.” Tommy grumbled, his wings pointing up as he floated down onto the roof of a new building. “Why are there only building tops in this goddamn city? Couldnt I have just landed over between those buildings or something, you uncreative fuck?” The boy muttered, although unaware of the heroes that lurked the streets beneath him. If he had landed between the buildings like he wanted, they likely would have gotten sight of him immediately.
”…Touché smartass.”
Tommy took a peek over the rooftop, looking out for the supposed heroes that wandered the streets below. Low and behold, 404 and Blaze of the Dream Team were walking between two of the buildings looking as if they were looking for something... Or maybe someone?
”Yeah, yeah, I get it. The entire damn hero tower is after me, yada yada, I get the message.” Tommy grumbled, backing away from the ledge and running to the other side of the building, flaring out his wings and gliding down to the ground. He looked around to make sure there was no one around before running behind a conveniently placed dumpster and changed into his civilian outfit.
”Couldn’t I have waited til I got home?” The blond complained, scrunching up his nose at the terrible smell of trash. Dramaqueen. “Wh- Hey! I’m not a dramaqueen! Asshole!” Tommy muttered as he walked out from between the two buildings, heading onto the sidewalk.
Tommy stopped at the sight of 404 and Blaze also walked out from the other side of the building. The boy cursed internally as he turned around and started walking the other way.
”Hey, kid!” Blaze called out from behind him.
’Why do you make it your mission to fuck up my day?’ Tommy thought with a wince, turning around slowly and looking up at the hero.
”Uhm— Hi?” He greeted them awkwardly, placing his hands in his pockets. “Can I help you?”
”Oh! Well, me and my friend were lookin’ for this vigilante, Theseus!” Blaze started, 404 walking up behind him. “Our idiot co-worker let him get away, so now we’re on the case. Have you seen him?” Blaze basically shouted, his hands motioning all over the place. 404 just looked tired.
Tommy's eyes twitched a bit, forming the best smile he could. “Ah, sorry mister. Haven’t seen him.”
“Are you sure?” Blaze questioned, almost like he was being annoying on purpose.
”Yes, sir. I am very sure.”
”Well, alright then kid.” Blaze sighed, sending a look to 404. “We’ll be on our way now. Want an autograph before we go?” The hero offered with a cocky grin. Tommy only felt his annoyance grow.
”No thanks, I have to go home and uh- eat dinner. Yep. Okay bye now.” Tommy spun around and began to speed away from the heroes, hearing the distant goodbyes they sent.
“What the hell was that for? First you send that Siren asshole after me and now the fucking Dream Team?” Tommy groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose as he turned a corner. “Give me a break, why don't you?”
Tommy kept walking before he reached his apartment complex, walking up the stairs until he reached his floor. He reached in his pocket and pulled out his key, stopping in front of his door. He stuck the key in and opened the door, wandering into his dark apartment. He flicked the light on with a sigh, shutting the door behind him.
He sat down on the couch, crossing his legs as he switched on the TV. It seemed that Theseus and Siren's encounter made it on the news.
”What the fuck!? How did that even happen? There were no camera people!” Tommy groaned and leaned his head back. He crossed his arms with a huff. “There’s no point in it being on the news, it's not like it’ll have future plot relevance. You’re just fucking with me.” He frowned and he gritted his teeth.
”You seriously suck at this, you know? You didn't even have a good start off to the story- for fuck's sake you started mid chase!” Tommy flailed his arms around with a shout. “It could've started with me in a nice ice cream shop or something! But nooo! Tommy can't ever have peace, can he!?” The blond growled.
”Damn fucking main character syndrome.” He muttered. The boy grabbed the remote and turned the TV back off. “Fuck your story, I’m going to bed.” The boy shouted at the air, grabbing one of the pillows on the couch and fluffing it against the arm rest. Tommy laid down, leaning against the pillow.
“Yeah that’s right, I’m cutting your stupid chapter short.” He grumbled. “Goodnight, dickhead.” He closed his eyes and rolled up into a ball. Tommy didn’t sleep all too often, mostly out patrolling or working his job. Today is his day off from work, so he had planned to patrol all night. Guess he got tuckered out too quickly. Well, if that's what it takes for him to get sleep, so be it.
Tommy curled in on himself a bit, he was cold.
That was until Tommy suddenly felt something nice and warm suddenly around him. He gripped onto it and pulled it closer to himself. The boy snuggled into the newly found blanket, snoring lightly as he drifted off into deep sleep. Tommy usually didnt dream, but to tonight he did. He slept good, without any interruptions, and had the sweetest dreams he’d had in a while. He might be pissed at me in the morning for sending him off to bed so soon, but he deserved some rest.
Sleep tight, Theseus.
