Two villains and a baby

Summary:

What if Harry had been born after Norman took the Goblin serum? And what if Goblin was as protective over Harry as Norman was?

A fic where Norman Osborn is s single a father, but also juggling his life as a villian. Maybe with some help from an old friend eventually...

Notes:

This is a silly au that I find adorable, so don't expect it to be too serious.

Also I'm going to make it clear right now that in this fic Norman does NOT have clinical DID, so this will NOT be a representation of a man with a realistic split personality. If you are a system, then please do not be offended, I am not trying to portray Norman as a system here. This is pure comic book suspension of disbelief portrayal of the man

The Goblin is more similar to a form of mania Norman experiences, where his emotions and wants are amplified and made more violent, and he stops caring about right and wrong.

Chapter 1: It's a boy

Chapter Text

Norman smiled softly down at the quiet bundle in his arms, rocking it slightly as he watched his newborn son's baby blue eyes blinking up at him.

"Harold Theopolis Osborn." He spoke softly, still testing out the name, and how it felt right when referring to this little boy.

Theopolis? What kind of name is that?

Norman glanced over to his wife when he heard the voice in his head, checking she was asleep so she wouldn't notice if he spoke out loud.

"So, you decided to see him for yourselves did you?" Norman mumbled to himself, glancing upwards at the darkened hospital windows to catch the reflection of his darker half. He was always in his mind, but most of the time he lay dormant, keeping silent to allow Norman to function normally.

Like it or not, he is my child too Osborn.

Norman chuckled at that, having not expected the Goblin to care much for their child.

Emily of course didn't know about the Goblin, the few times Norman had let the darkness consume himself around her, she was none the wiser.

They were very much the same person, Norman and Goblin. The Goblin was Norman's own ego, the dark part of him that felt he deserved to take whatever he wanted without caring for consequence. The accident with the serum had just unlocked that part of his mind and given it a voice. The name had only been chosen when he crafted his villainous disguise, but he found it easier to use it to refer to his darker side.

There was a little gurgle, and Norman immediately shushed the baby before he had a chance to cry, bouncing his arm slightly until little Harry was happy and quiet again.

His son was perfect in Norman's eyes, big blue eyes, pale skin he was sure would develop freckles, and a small crop of bright ginger hair. For now his eyes were the usual baby blue, but he looked forward to seeing if they would stay that way, or darken like Emily's.

His eyes are going to be green

Norman raised an eyebrow questioningly at his reflection. While Emily had dominant brown eyes, Norman had recessive blue. But curiously, when Norman became one with the goblin his eyes turned the same green as the formula that created him. "How can you tell?"

He's my son after all

Norman frowned, trying to add up the dates in his head. It was possible, not knowing if they had been the Goblin around the time Harry was conceived. "We'll just have to see as he gets older."

If he has our strength, he will be a good junior Goblin. Someone to take up our legacy

Norman frowned at that, shaking his head. "He's too young to be thinking about things like that. He's not the heir to the Osborn empire, or a little junior Goblin yet. He's just a little boy, who's going to need his father to bring him up the best we can."

We will crush any who wish to harm him

Norman hummed in agreement. He didn't always agree with the more violent thoughts the Goblin brought with him, but this time they were in complete agreement. He didn't need the formula in his veins to know that he would kill anyone to protect this precious child.
