Work Text:

It’s all going to be okay. Freddy tells himself.

The bear shifted nervously in his seat, watching the slow rise and fall of Monty’s chest as he lay in the hospital bed. Freddy knew that the gator was going to be okay, but worry gnawed at the bear all the same for the whole time he stayed by Monty’s side. Freddy sighed as his eyes dragged down towards the gator’s blanket-covered legs, knowing full well both were covered in casts.

It had been an accident, back at the Pizzaplex. Freddy was assisting Monty with a birthday party activity held in Gator Golf when he heard a child was running around atop the attraction’s network of catwalks, yelling and jumping with reckless abandon as the pathways groaned in protest. Unaware of this, the child continued until one of the large grates collapsed and the boy would have fallen if it weren’t for Monty’s quick thinking and reflexes. Seemingly out of nowhere, he rushed in and tossed the child to a more stable part of the catwalks and Freddy had been enamored all over again with how selfless the gator was then. Unfortunately, the already damaged pathway couldn’t handle Monty’s weight and collapsed, sending the gator straight toward the ground. Luckily, he was able to minimize the damage by landing on his feet else the fall would have been more… fatal. Freddy shuddered just thinking about it. Everyone was quickly ushered out of the golf course while the bear rushed towards the seriously injured Monty.

“I-Is the… kid, nrgh… hah… o-okay?” The gator was gasping as he lay down on the floor, hands clenched and tears flowing as he struggled to hold onto consciousness.

Freddy was crying too as he gingerly took one of Monty’s hands in his. “Y-Yes… you saved him, Monty. That was very brave of you.”

The gator let out a shaky huff before his eyes slowly fluttered shut. At least he won’t be in pain anymore, Freddy thought as he watched Monty get lifted on a stretcher and carried away.

Hours of fear and uneasiness had passed since then, with Freddy patiently waiting by the gator’s bedside before a deep groan made Freddy jump. His heart jumped to the back of his throat as he watched Monty stir and grunt for a few minutes before slowly opening his eyes. Unfocused magentas stared at the ceiling for a moment before drifting towards Freddy.

“Mmm, ugh… the fuck..?” Unsurprisingly, the first thing to slip out of Monty’s mouth was a curse, but his voice sounded slurred and groggy, unlike the usual gravelly tones he had after waking up.

“Monty?” Freddy really wanted to reach out and touch the gator but hesitated, seeing his current state. “How are you feeling?”

Monty reached an arm up to his own face and patted his cheek. “Nnh… thirsty. Gimme a, uh… gimme a scotch on the rocks… with, uh… ice.”

Freddy couldn’t help but giggle. He may not know much about alcoholic drinks but he’s certain the term ‘rocks’ meant ice. “Um, they don’t have that here. What about a cup of water?”

The gator huffed but nodded regardless. “Fine, but only ‘cause someone with a, mmh… a pretty voice like you said so.”

Freddy stood up with a faint blush, muttering a quick “I’ll be back shortly” before walking out of the room. He flagged down a nurse and thanked them with a smile before returning to Monty’s room with a styrofoam cup, coupled with a straw, in hand. He almost dropped the water in his rush to stop the gator from playing with the bed controls.

After leaving the bed in a slightly reclined state, the bear gave Monty the cup. Freddy watched the gator bring the straw closer to his lips, eyes narrowed, before proceeding to lick the tip of the straw. The bear would have laughed if it weren’t for the way the gator’s long, tapered tongue lapped so lewdly and sensually around the straw. “E-Erm… Monty, what are you doing?”

“Drinkin’.” The tone of the gator’s voice conveying ‘Duh, what do you think?’

“That’s not how you—”

Crunch!

Monty bit into the styrofoam, his long teeth piercing through and crushing the poor cup. Water came bursting out of his jaws and thoroughly drenched the gator’s snout and chest. Freddy ran to the bathroom and grabbed the box of tissues there before frantically wiping at Monty’s mouth and body, while the gator just sat there with remnants of the cup in between his teeth and a satisfied look on his face. Freddy sighed when he balled up the wet pieces of napkins and threw them in the trash. The bear briefly wondered if Monty was suffering from the side effects of the medicine.

Not even a second after Freddy settled down into his seat, the gator began growling and rubbing his face. “Grahh! My eyes are fuckin’ broken! ‘Ah can’t see shit!”

“Oh! Just a moment.” Freddy grabbed the small case he set down on an empty chair nearby and retrieved Monty’s eyeglasses. He thought about bringing the gator’s favorite star-shaped glasses instead but considered that it might irritate Monty’s eyes and decided against it. Freddy placed the prescription glasses over the gator’s eyes and it just… stayed there, despite having no ears to hang on to. Well, the bridge did fit perfectly over Monty’s snout so that must have been the reason why. “Can you see better now?”

“Holy… damn, how’d ya do that? Yer fuckin’—” The gator whipped his head around to look at Freddy, eyes widening. “—beautiful. Woah…” Monty gasped breathlessly as he leaned in closer. “Ya look like a fuckin’ god. Can ‘ ah get yer name, handsome?”

Yes, the gator was indeed under the side effects of the anesthetics.

Freddy flushed as Monty’s intense eyes bored into his. He knows the gator would forget about what was currently happening and remember who Freddy truly was later, but seeing this, how despite Monty apparently forgetting who the bear was yet still found him attractive all the same had Freddy’s heart running a mile a minute and shivers coursing through his body.

“U-Uh… Freddy, my name’s Freddy Fazbear.”

“Hope ya don’t mind me bein’ so forward with ya, Freddy.” Monty grinned as he drew impossibly closer, dragging out and drenching the bear’s name in that suave accent of his. Oh my. “But are ya single?”

Ah. How should Freddy answer that question? Would it be better to play along or should he tell Monty the truth? The bear carefully weighed his options. On one hand, he was curious as to how the gator would proceed if Freddy said yes. On the other, he wanted to see what would be Monty’s reaction if Freddy was frank.

“…”

The truth it is.

“I’m your husband. We’ve been married for three years.”

The gator’s jaw fell slack as he gaped at Freddy, incredulous. “We’re married?” Freddy nodded. “Yer my husband?” Another nod. “Holy shit.” Monty fell back onto his bed and looked down at his hands. “Holy shit. Do we have kids?”

“W-Well, there’s Gregory—”

“We do!?” Monty reached out and touched Freddy’s soft stomach. “Did ‘ah get you pregnant? Or did ‘ah—” The gator drew his arms back and cupped his own chest, each hand snugly cradling either of his large pecs. “Are we havin’ more kids? Twins?”

Freddy spluttered as he watched his husband grope his own breasts, unaware of how indecent (and arousing) it looked. The bear grabbed Monty’s hands and pressed them down onto the bed. “N-No, I can’t—I… and you can’t become—p-pregnant! W-We’re both men!”

Monty’s surprised look slowly turned mischievous as he leaned in closer. “We can sure as hell try. Ya sure look eager to do it here, even.” The gator grabbed one of Freddy’s hands and slid it down smooth, light scales right towards Monty’s groin. “Not that ‘ah mind, really want to, actually.”

Freddy immediately backed away, face hot and fur standing on edge. He had nearly forgotten where they were and was glad no one walked in and witnessed the compromising position they were just in. The bear didn’t dare look back at Monty lest Freddy saw the smirk he knew was on the gator’s face and actually surrendered. He then heard the sound of cloth rustling followed by a soft moan. Oh heavens.

“Freddy,” Monty sing-songed. “wouldn’t wanna miss out on this, now wouldn’t ya?”

Freddy made sure to block anyone from entering as he stood outside the room, forehead against the door and face in his hands.

The bear watched as Monty woke up for the third time that day, hissing softly as he stretched out his arms. The gator blearily dragged his gaze around the room before settling on Freddy.

This scene felt very familiar.

“Hey, honeybear… Where, mmh… where are we?”

Freddy sighed and relief before smiling at the gator. “At the hospital, dear. After you courageously saved that child yesterday, remember?”

“Huh…” Monty scratched his snout before returning a small smile. “Anythin’ happen while ‘ah was out of it?”

Suddenly, Freddy couldn’t meet his husband’s eyes as he shuffled in his seat awkwardly. “Erm… None that I can think of.”

He saw Monty shrug from the corner of his eyes before the gator took Freddy’s hand in his. Warmth bloomed in the bear’s chest from the gesture making him smile wider.

It’s all going to be okay. Freddy knows.

also freddys got a dad bod, fighte me if ya disagree

and yes, im aware that a doctor and/or nurse should be there when the patient wakes up from the anesthetics but well ignore that for ✨ plot convenience ✨
