Toss your dirty shoes in my washing machine heart
Black Raisin should’ve known when the mysterious Healer Cookie appeared. An enigma to the village, the only thing they knew about him was that he was a great healer, something their village needed. She should’ve known when he revealed himself to be the almighty king, Pure Vanilla. She was a replacement, something Healer – Pure Vanilla held close for the memories. That’s all she was…
Baby, bang it up inside…
I mean, how could she best the Ancients? Not only had they been friends for longer, but they had won battles together. Pure Vanilla just healed her after her shenanigans. Compared to them, she and her crows were pathetic.
Now that Hollyberry and Dark Cacao had come to the Vanilla Kingdom to deal with Dark Enchantress, she was cast aside. Of course, she couldn’t blame Healer – Pure Vanilla. He hadn’t seen his friends in years. Still, it hurt to be forgotten so quickly. She appreciated all he did for her village, but maybe it was time for them to part.
I’m not wearing my usual lipstick
Perhaps the absence of her bandages and crows was a sight to behold, but it was usual for when she was Pure Vanilla. She had hoped to talk to him as they usually did, but he was busy with the other Ancients. Cookies looked at her and her solemn looks. She always seems to change when it came to Heal – Pure Vanilla.
I thought maybe we would kiss tonight…
Black Raisin turned back, heading towards the Inn alone. A few of the villagers asked about Pure Vanilla. She brushed it off, saying that the other was busy with the Council meetings. They had understood, but Black Raisin hadn’t.
Baby, will you kiss me already and
Just some time with her dear friend was all she wanted. She didn’t want to be left behind…
Toss your dirty shoes in my washing machine heart
But Pure Vanilla deserved more, didn’t he? After all he’s done, and this is how she repays him? She was being selfish… Still, she couldn’t help but feel like he was moving further and further away from her, into the spotlight.
She needs to find a way to silence these thoughts…
Baby, bang it up inside…
She grows bored in the Crow’s Nest and goes out. Maybe she should’ve stayed, maybe then she would’ve lived in ignorant bliss.
Baby, though I’ve closed my eyes…
They were laughing together. All close, hugging (mostly from Hollyberry) and talking. Had Pure Vanilla ever talked to her like that? With such a bright radiant smile and melodious laughter?
Perhaps she should’ve stayed inside. She needs to repaint her façade…
I know who you pretend I am…
It was always them, wasn’t it? It was Dark Cacao’s carefully guarded demeanour, Hollyberry’s ability to bring people together, White Lily’s kindness and Golden Cheese’s … Birds? Black Raisin couldn’t think of anything that she and Golden Cheese had in common, other than the fact they were both associated with birds.
I know who you pretend I am…
Back to the façade… One she’s crafted so carefully. She wouldn’t let her jealously get in the way of her friendship. It's the least she could do, right..?
But do, mi, ti
But it hurt...
Why
Not
Me?
Was she not good enough?
Why
Not
Me?
Should she continue chasing after him?
Do, Mi, Ti
Why
Not
Me?
Should she let him go?
Why
Not
Me?
Surely... That's what Pure Vanilla would want, right?
Do, Mi, Ti
Why
Not
Me?
She'll remember all the good times she had with H – Pure Vanilla. One of the only outsiders who truly appreciated her birds. One who stood beside her, always making sure she was alright.
She'll remember the time he saved her from those Wafflebots.
She'll remember the time he went back for her, even though he wanted desperately to learn the secrets of the Vanilla Kingdom.
She'll remember the times they spent watching the red moon.
Why
Not
Me?
Ah, it seems it was time to take Strawberry Crepe back in. She can hear the familiar noise of a Wafflebot starting up. What were they playing this time? Hide and Seek? Tag? No matter, she wouldn't be the ones waking them up if they slept in.
Perhaps it was best to see how things would go through time.
