The cool gust of air was a nice contrast to the heat that was trying to come in as members of the monster generation filled in to Onigiri Miya.
Bokuto's voice boomed off the walls of the restaurant making his presence known, ¨AGASSHI¨ he roared while walking full speed towards Akashi who was walking out from behind the counter. ¨I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU IN FOREVER¨ engulfing him in a bear hug.
¨We saw each other two weeks ago.¨ Akaashi laughed while hugging him back.
¨Watch those hands or I won't feed you.” Osamu warned pointing a rice paddle at him.
“I WOULD NEVER!” Dramatically turning his head to the side pouting, “I have my Kuroo already.”
“Where is Kuroo? I saw him at the game but not when it finished.” Asked Atsumu coming to stand next to his brother.
”He went to talk to some of Shoyos new sponsors' ' Kenma chipped in, seated at a table near them.
Bokuto went to hug him as well, “Yup he should be here in 30 minutes or so.”
“Oya? I haven’t seen Kuroo in a year” Tendou heard their conversation added in.
“That is because you were in France.” Ushijima sat with his hand behind Tendous chair.
“WOW! TENDOU SAN YOU LIVED IN FRANCE!?” The guest of honor himself, Hinata asked .
“For a couple of years to save up to open a store here in Japan” answered Tendou.
“When is it opening? I love your chocolate.” Pressed suga with a longing look.
“I’m three months”
“That’s so far away” whiled Suga gaining a laugh from Tendou,
“I’ll make you some next weekend”
“Me to please!” Yachi raised her hand from a different table. “And me!” Yamagushi joined in also raising his hand.
“Ok ok I’ll make some for all of you”
“YESSS!” Hoshiumi cheered from a different direction.
“Tsumu if you don’t stop eating all the rice I’m going to beat you!” Samu yelled at his brother, gaining some people's attention.
“BUT I'M HUNGRY! YOU WANT YOUR BROTHER TO STARVE!” Right before Osamu could retort anything back Omi stepped in. “Stop it or I’ll tell him to make you pay every time you eat here.”
“NOOO OMI” whined a wide eyed Atsumu.
“These are so good I wish my bro was here. He would love these.” Tanaka's shoulder slumped as he bit into the rice.
“You can just bring him here when he comes.” Offered Kiyoko rubbing his shoulder.
“When is he getting here?” Questioned Tsukishima.
Asahi perked up at this, “He asked me to pick him up at the airport two days from now.” Answered with a light blush on his cheeks.
“Sounds like things are going well between the two of you.” Sugas moved his eyebrows up and down at Asahi.
“SUGA!” His blush now covered his face fully.
While they where talking Kageyama came back from the restroom and took his seat in between Suga and Tsuki, in front of Hinata who was seated right next to Asahi.
Hinata, having been waiting for his return, slowly stood up from his seat. “Could I please have everyone’s attention for a moment!” After everyone had quieted he continued.
“Thank you all for throwing me this welcome back party. I’m really grateful to all of you!” A big bright smile beamed on his face. As everyone cheered, yelling their ‘your welcome’s.
After a the cheering stopped his point at kags. “Kageyama could you please stand up?”
Tobio hesitantly stood up confused. Hinata pulled him to the center of the restaurant where all their friends could see them and grabbed both his hands with his own. The others were now just as confused as Kageyama was.
“Hinata what are you doing?” Tobs was now starting to feel uncomfortable with everyone staring at them.
“Just…” Shoyou began. “I want all of our friends to be here when I ask.”
“Ask?” Kageyama tried to pull away from him but Hinata held on harder while getting on one knee.
“Kageyama Tobio will you-“ before he could finish his hands where they were yanked from Tobios.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Tsukishima was now in front of him with kags behind him holding on his shirt behind him looking startled.
“What the hell? This has nothing to do with you Tsukishima.” Hinata standing on both legs now pressed.
“It does when you try to propose to my boyfriend right in front of me.” Kei said, looking intimidating down at him.
“…what.” Hinata stood there dumbfounded. He looked to Kageyama for confirmation. Tobio nodded knuckles white from how hard he was holding on to Kei’s shirts.
Shoyos face quickly darkened. “WHAT THE HELL WHAT DIDN'T YOU TELL ME ?!? YOU SAID YOU LOVED ME WAS THAT ALL A LIE?!? YOU NEVER REALLY LOVED ME DID YOU!???”
“Hina-.” Kageyama tried.
“SHUT UP YOUR TRASH! WHEN I LEFT YOU SAID YOU LOVED ME I’M GONE FOR A COUPLE YEARS AND YOU ALREADY FOUND SOMEONE ELSE?!? I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN NOT TO TRUST YOU!”
“It’s not li-“
“SHUT UP! YOU WHERE PROBABLY SLEEPING WITH ANYONE YOU COULD GET YOUR HANDS ONE WEREN'T YOU?”
“…stop it…” Kageyama's face becomes red and eyes wet. Others around the restaurant also started to ask him to stop and calm down.
“YOU'RE A WHORE!” Immediately after the words came out of his mouth he fell to the ground, cheek burning and his head ringing. Gasps were heard from all around the room.
“Don’t you EVER fucking talk about him like that in your lifeagain.” Tsukishima's threatening voice cut through Hinata's clouded Hearing m.
“Ok guys let’s all calm down for a second.” Daichi tried to deescalate the situation.
Kenma came to Hinata's side. “That was too far Sho come on calm down.”
Hinata looked at him with a furred expression. “HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO ACT? I CALLED HIM WAS HE IS!”
Tsukishima visibly became livid as he began to raise his fist again. Ushijima pulls him back before he could his Hinata again. “Calm down Tsuki that won’t solve anything.” Yams tried to reason with him.
“…That’s not how it is.” Tobios voice cuts through the commotion drawing everyone’s attention to him.
“THEN HOW IS IT?!?” Hinata roared from the ground.
Kageyama fidgeted with his fingers and looked down, “we were never together.”
“Is that what you say to yourself to make yourself feel better?” Sho said disgust laced his words.
“Hinata stop it!” Came from Yachi.
“Don’t even try to deny it now I know who you really are!”
“Stop it.” Kags tried again voice cracking.
“WHORE WHORE WHO-“ Tsukishima was struggling to get out of Ushijimas grasp. While the others were either too shocked to say anything or asking him to stop.
“SHUT UP!” Came from Kageyama. “WHAT DID YOU EXPECT ME TO DO??!? YOU WHERE THE ONE THAT TOLD ME WE WEREN'T DATING!” Tears now streaming down his eyes. “I TOLD YOU I LOVED YOU AND YOU LEFT! YOU TOLD ME NOTHING AND YOU LEFT ME! I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW UNTIL NATSU GAVE ME THAT NOTE.” No one spoke at all letting Tobio continue.
“GOD THAT STUPID NOT. YOU EXPECTED ME TO WAIT FOR YOU JUST BECAUSE YOU SAID I WAS IMPORTANT TO YOU? YOU NEVER EVEN SAID YOU LOVED ME BACK. DIDN'T EVEN TEXT ME WHILE YOU WERE AWAY. I PLAYED IN BRAZIL I TRIED TO SEE YOU. YOU DIDN'T EVEN ANSWER.” He stopped for a second and a sob fought in his throat.
“YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUDGE HOW I MOVED ON WHEN YOU LEFT ME. I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING WRONG!” He yelled while tears stained his face.
“That-“ His face pale. Tobs cut him off and Hinata could continue.
“WHAT WOULD YOU EXPECT WOULD HAPPEN?!???” Finally looking Shoyo right in his eyes.
“You think coming back as if nothing happened and suddenly asking me to marry you would fix everything? I should have cursed you out or at least ignored you but I didn’t because even after everything you were still my best friend but I don’t even think I can stand to look at you now.” There was no more anger in his face, just sadness.
Kei had calmed down enough for Ushijima to let him go and came to Tobio. “Come on bubs let’s go.” He starts to lead kags to to exit with an arm around his shoulder.
“WAIT!” Hinata asks. “ BUT… But I-“
“I still love you.”
Kageyama turns back at him with a defeated tired face stained with tears.
“No you don’t.”
Hinata begins to open his mouth but kags continues. “You never did. That’s why we were never official. You could never love anyone besides yourself.”
He turned towards Kei while talking to Hinata. “I’m finally happy so please just leave me alone.” Tsukishima kisses his forehead then they walk away.
“I- but…” Hinata watched walk out the door in each others arms.
“Come on Sho that’s enough for today.”
Kenma helps him off the floor.
“…you knew.” Hinata said as kenma nodded.
“And you didn’t tell me?”
“Sho… you never even asked about him.”
“Why? Why didn't you tell…”
“Come on Shoyo, let's go take you back to your hotel, you're probably tired.” Shoyo pulled his hand away from Kenma who was dragging him toward the door.
“Why!”
“YOU WOULDN'T HAVE LEFT HIM MOVE ON. I KNOW YOU SHO YOU DON'T LIKE HIM. THAT WHY YOU WOULD CONSTANTLY SEE OTHER PEOPLE WHEN YOU WERE TOGETHER IN HIGH SCHOOL. THAT'S WHY YOU HAD A THING WITH OIKAWA IN BRAZIL. You need to let him go. You don’t love him. And now he doesn’t love you.” Kenma panted.
“…okay. Let’s go to the hotel.”
He let Kenma drag him out. A minute later Kuroo walks in.
“What happened? Why did the guest of honor leave so early?” He looked at everyone in the room. “Why do you all look so pale? Where’s Kags and Tsuki?
Uhh hello? Guys?? WHAT HAPPENED??”
