Chapter Text
As Scar walked back down the stairs into the ancient city, he waved at Martyn, who was intensely studying a shrieker. “HEY MARTYN!!!” he yelled, before realizing what he had done. “Whoops! Hey Martyn,” he proceeded to whisper. “Nah, it’s alright, the shriekers aren’t summoning the warden!” Martyn yelled back. This time, the shrieker didn’t even go off.
”Oh, that’s perfect! That means I can execute my plan without a problem,” Scar responded, before walking over to the enchanting table and taking it. “I thought we agreed that nobody was going to take it!” Martyn yelled to Scar. “I’m a part of the broken hearts club now! I’m allowed to break rules!” Scar replied. Martyn just shrugged.
Scar ran back up to the surface, enchanting table in hand, while Martyn continued to explore.
On the other side of the ancient city, there laid a book. Old and weathered as time itself, it contained all the secrets to the magic at the centre of the earth. Only problem was, it could only be dug up by the warden. That was what Martyn was trying to find. If he couldn’t summon the warden, he’d just have to dig it up himself.
And so he dug. And he dug. And he dug. But he didn’t find it. What he did find, however, was a piece of paper, dirty and stained with mud and blood, with coordinates scrawled in messy writing on it. Coordinates that were near his location.
And so Martyn dug once more, to the coordinates, and found a chest. The only thing inside it was a book, which just so happened to be the book he was looking for.
As soon as he opened it, he heard a rumbling noise. He slowly turned around to look behind him, and saw a giant blue monster looking directly at him. The warden had spawned and found him.
”Hi there, Mr. Warden,” he squeaked out, before the warden tore him in half. As his body disintegrated, the last thing he saw was someone about to strike the warden from above with a diamond sword. It was Pearl.
InTheLittleWood was slain by Warden.
Martyn respawned back at Pearl’s house, and the only other one there was Scar. He had placed down the enchanting table and multiple bookshelves around it. Speaking of books… Martyn had lost all of his stuff.
Except the ancient book.
Long ago, when the world was young, there were three great guardians of this planet. The Dragon guarded the End, the Wither guarded the Nether, and the Warden guarded the Ancient City. When the Ancient Peoples of Minecraftia were created, they built small cities in the End, great fortresses and bastions in the Nether, and one giant city in the Deep Dark. The three guardians swore to protect the ancient peoples, until the Great Extinction happened.
One citizen, a man people referred to as “Hellbreaker”, corrupted the guardians and turned them into mindless killing machines. Well, except for one. The Ender Dragon. The great dragon sealed him away in the void, and now guards the end, not to protect the people who live there, but to protect the world from Hellbreaker.
However, before she did this, Hellbreaker created a pseudo-guardian. The Harbinger of Death, or just Harbinger for short. Harbinger was eventually sealed away in the centre of the earth, in a bubbling pit of black magic. It is said that one day Harbinger will return and kill everyone, once he’s freed by the spirit of Hellbreaker.
One could even call the spirit of Hellbreaker… a demon. One able to corrupt those around them, turning them into demons as well. Oh, well, how unfortunate for the people of the world.
Martyn gasped. No. No, no no. Pearl couldn’t be housing the spirit of Hellbreaker… right?
In one stab, Pearl had killed the warden. She could barely believe it, after all, she was expecting to die doing that. But no, the warden was the one to die. There was black magic afoot here, as there always was. And, honestly? Pearl liked it.
As she traveled back aboveground to find Ren, she saw Grian’s base on fire, four people rushing to put it out. That was probably where Ren was.
Pearl made it to Grian’s base just in time to see Ren plunge a sword directly through Grian’s heart.
Grian was slain by Renthedog using [???]
There it was again. That same name for the sword. Pearl knew that Ren had never named his sword ???, in fact, they didn’t have an anvil.
As Grian respawned, he immediately noticed Pearl. “You! What did you do?!” he growled. Pearl cocked her head to one side. “Oh? You think I did this? You silly parrot boy, I didn’t do any of this! At least not directly.” “But your friend did,” Grian replied, cornering Pearl against a wall. “Everyone was right, all you do is cause death and destruction everywhere you go!” “I know!” Pearl giggled. “I killed the warden in one stab just now. I wonder what I could do to you if you didn’t let me leave…”
“If you do that, I’ll be red. And I’ll kill you, and all the members of your little club!” Grian roared. “Even Scar?” Pearl simply asked. “He doesn’t deserve that, not after everything you’ve already done.” Grian froze. “No, I…” “That’s what I thought,” Pearl replied, before walking out of the base with Ren, off towards her house in the sky, where Martyn had something very important to tell the both of them.
Grian: Scar, meet me in the mangrove swamp. Go alone.
Scar: ok :)
