Red seas

Summary:

Ah the endless consuming ocean, it's a never ending sight of blue for miles upon miles, but no one dares to swim or sail out into it, for they fear the things beneath the waves, sea beasts. The vile hostile creatures keeping the mortals at their shores never once being able to step a single foot in without the fear of being taken away. Of course this was all until the hunters, who vowed their services to the royals, keeping the waters safe, for a fee of course. Now people can play in the shallows freely and sail to a limit to catch fish for food and trade. After all, the Incredible is the best of the best with it's Captain Crow and his crew, the stories of Jacob Holland make children want to believe they are safe, that they can be hunters. Of course it comes at a price, for death will paint the ocean red whether it be man or beast.

Notes:

Honestly watched Sea Beast 2 days ago and is now writing this with no idea how to make plot, drama, angst, or anything really! It's called going with the flow so I can only hope you read this chaos of a story! Also if you haven't seen sea beast this will have some spoilers for it so I highly recommend watching it, you can find it in Netflix! Also sorry for any grammar mistakes and I'll try to describe the characters the best that I can! Also this chapter will be in third person, I may do more but here's how you can tell:
Chapter name blank: Third person/multiple povs
Chapter name Maisie: Maisie's Pov
Chapter name Jacob: Jacob's Pov
Chapter name Red: Red's Pov
Chapter name Captian Crow: Captian Crow's pov

This chapter is relatively the story but don't worry after this chapter it will be more leaning into the au part!

Chapter Text

The water swayed at a medium past in the night, suddenly the eater's surface broke as a young child emerged from the depths and grabbed onto what seemed to be a piece of wood. Breathing heavily he tried to find a good part of the piece of wood to latch onto as the ocean spun him around in a circular motion, behind him a ship was in flames, seemingly to have been torn in two as it sunk into the water. A flash of lighting as a storm was rolling in, a big wave came down onto to boy and his makeshift small raft, he was thrown under as behind him it showed the ship too, had been taken under. More damage was clear as it was somehow torn it two, cargo and pieces of the ship floated in the middle, being torn apart as the back part of the ship still set on the oceans surface the front part, clearly visible, was still somewhat intact. The boy broke the surface again, swimming to his little raft which could only be presumed as apart of the ship, as he looked up he gasped in fear. In the distance a fainted roar came and the tail of something big, bigger than a whale, broke the surface as the thing swam away. The boy stared at the place where the tail had disappeared, the ocean helping him get onto the piece of wood, as he lay there, barefooted, scared, alone, and helpless to what had just happened and what he had witnessed. Just beneath him, under the waters surface but close enough to be able to see, a huge mantaray passed underneath him.

"There was a time, when children dreaded the night. For the sleeping hours brought visions of horror." There in the middle of a room, with bed, children where gathered around the middle bed closest the the wall opposite of the door, they listened to the girl reading the story, she held a book called Tales of Captain Crow, it was a red dusty book, the cover had a ship with a man on it in the middle in a circle. "The dark times, when the most terrible sea beasts would ravage our shores!" The page the girl was on had a picture of a flying beast and women in vegetable patches, the children watched as the girl told the story, read by candle light, the girl was a light brown girl, she wore a white, baggy, sleeveless dress with white socks, she had curly black or dark brown curly hair, with deep brown eyes. "And no ship was safe on sea," she turned the page to show a man holding a spear, a sword to his side, and armor, "but thanks to the hunters, those days are over! Today these valiant warriors battle the beasts far beyond the horizon." The children smiled as she read, a young boy with tanish skin, blonde hair, and greenish eyes stared in awe of the story. "Risking their lives to rid the seas of those nightmare creatures, and the greatest of the hunting ships is the Inevitable."

She was cut off as a young boy, white skin, no socks, wearing a white sleeveless onise that almost went down to his knees, a eye patch, and a makeshift pirate hat that seemed to be made of paper. He held a sword in his hand as he jumped onto the bed looking out onto the group of children who were huddled around the story tellers bed. Screaming he yelled, "And the greatest of the hunters is Captian Crow!" He raised his sword as he turned, "AUGH!" He said as he brought the sword down onto the only pillow on the bed, hitting it with his sword a couple of times as white feathers flew all around, one landing into the girl. The children cheered him on, the girls expression looked kinda smug as she turned her head to face him, "Hey!" She said as she blew the feather of her as she never took her eyes of the boy, she leaned in some, "Who's reading the story?" Suddenly a new voice came, "Oh my word!"

A women holding a lantern was standing in the door way with the door now opened, she wore a black dress with a white bottom apron, she wore a white cap as well, only to cover her hair. "What's this! Lights out was an hour ago! Oh you'll be the death of me..." She was a white women with brown hair tied back, hidden behind the cap. "Come on, along along you go. And miss Maisie." The story teller sat up straight while trying to have a straight face as she looked at her, "The king and queen care for you hunter orphans, out of their kindness. When you disobey the house rules, you disrespect them! So we're not going to have anymore..." She paused only for a split second, "attempts? Now are we?" Maisie replied keeping a calm expression on her face, "Absolutely not." The women looked doubtful but left anyway, closing the door behind her.

As soon as Maisie was sure she was gone, she put her plan to action. She immediately kept off the bed, landing in the ground she turned and crouched, grabbing her shoes and bag. Placing the book into the bag she quickly put her shoes on, looking up at the window where the moonlight shone threw. Eith a determined expression on her face a kid kept into her bed as she flipped a coin to him. He immediately when u der the covers pretending to be Maisie, she pushed the wheely dresser over to the window, seriously if they didn't want her to try to escape they would have put a regular hard to push and turn dresser in the room, she started climbing it to get the the circular window. She pulled herself up onto the window ceil before a kid gave her a bucket which had a wooden hammer and a sculpture tool to open the window with. She looked at the kids all in their beds as the watched her, "Fair troubles me swabs!" She whispered yelled before turning sround and opening the window, she looked back stand crouching throwing the tools back into the bucket. "And remember, live a great life and die a great death!" Everyone whispered yelled her bye and one kid said see you tomorrow, she scaled down the pipe next to the window and as soon as her feet hit the ground she was off. She ran towards the forest next to the orphanage, heading towards the sea.

The sea was a luminescent blue as the suns rays hit the water, a ship was sailing across it, it's front were you would normally see something like a mermaid lay the face of a beast, the sails a light red, it's rails a nice teal cyan. It's crew was massive as a women shouted over the crashing waves, "ALL HANDS ON DECK!" A bell was rung, "ALL TOGETHER NOW, HEAVE AWAY!" The women was white, she had ginger hair that was in a braid. A man was walking pass the crew, wrapping up his hand with bandage. As he pulled up his pants his sword making itself known, he climbed to the crows nest where a person was, the man was a tanish white, had a dirty mostly blonde hair, he wore a white shirt, a red belt like scarf and a golden belt on top of it, blue jeans, and brown boots. "Where'd you see it?" The women responded setting down her telescope while the man pulled out his to look upon the blue sea, it's waves nice and calm as it crashed against other waves and the ship, going with the wind, "Dead ahead Jacob." The man known as Jacob looked at her upon seeing nothing at a glance, "Are you sure?" "Aye, a red tail, biggest I ever saw! Just under the surface!" She looked at Jacob then back towards the sea squinting against the sun, Jacob closed his telescope looking at her, "Then today's the day." He slid down a rope heading down from the crows nest back on to the ship.

A man stood at the front, he wore a pirates hat, a black cloak, with what looked to be grayish, yellowish, white strips where the cost meet the gray armor shirt. The ocean stilled sounded calm, the only noise was the sea as it swayed the ship with it's waves and crashed against everything, " He looked out into the sea hands by his side, "It's the Red Bluster, I know it in my bones." He said as Jacob arrived next to him, both looked out against the sea to stop the beasts tail, "See there?!" He suddenly pointed to the sky which was filled with a flock of seagulls, "The birds following it." "We've come all this way for a proper fight." "And we'll get it my boy! It's been 30 years since that thing took my dead light, now I'll have my revenge." He looked at Jacob who was staring at him, Jacob then looked to the sea, "Aye."

A women then showed up, "We'll we've passed rum pepper island." She was missing a foot, she was black, with a white beige looking pirate hat, she wore a navy coat which was buttoned and a gray shirt. "It's heading for dreadmore sea." She took out a sliver flask and popped off the lid with just her thumb before taking a drink. Jacob leaned against the railing crossing his arms looking her as she finished her sip, he looked at her making a face and she looked at him. "If we're going to do battle with the greatest and most terrible thing in the sea, it's best not to wait till after." She held out the flask to him, he took it and smiled, "There might not be an after." He then took a sip out of the flask as well. The waves crashing against the ship, seagulls squawking, it seemed like a totally normal day out to sea, if not for the monsters that lie underneath the oceans surface. All of a sudden the women from the crows nest spotted a bird flying past them, she took out her telescope and looked to where it was flying, "Captain! It's another hunting ship under attack!" The Captian pulled his telescope out and looked outward the way she was pointing. Sure enough there was another hunting ship, hidden among the clouds, the only one would have know was for the light of canons being fired. "It's Jim Nickel Bone's ship." "Looks like he's found a Brickell back," Jacob stated. "Can't say it found him?" The women said before Jacob turned to the Captain, "We have to help him." The Captian turned around towards the sea where the Red Bluster's tail was spotted.

As if taunting him a bit of the Red Bluster's tail appeared breaking the ocean's surface a bit, "What course Captian?" The Captian stood his ground. "We press on," he stated firmly with Jacob in disbelief. "What?" "If Jim Nickel Bones will have to doggy says he is, he wouldn't be in this mess." Jacob came next to the Captian looking at him, "Captian," he pleaded, "you know the code, it binds us to all who come before and all who come after." The Captian looked down, "Even that rum Jim Nickel Bones." He turned placing his hands on the fence, "Miss Merino, set a new course!" The ginger haired women from earlier looked up at him, "Aye Captian! HOST THE ANCHOR!" The Captian sighed as he looked back out to the sea, "30 years I've waited." The ship turned as a horn blew, they were headed to Jim Nickel Bones ship to help him and his crew.
