George's POV:
Today was the day. I had been traveling since early this morning, and I was so ready to just get home. I had been very on edge today because of the mixture of stress and excitement that came with this moving process and finally after a couple of weeks of constant stress, I was finally meeting one of my best friends. I had been waiting for this moment for so long that I wanted nothing more than to get out of this airport as fast as possible, and that meant no interruptions. I knew that my disguise was a little bit overboard, but I just wanted to get home as soon as I could. It was only after I got in Sapnap's car that I took off my mask and glasses and pulled my hood off of my head.
Sapnap greeted me with a reached hug over the middle console, and I rolled my eyes as I hugged him back. "Gerge..." I chuckled a bit at Sapnap's MCC lore voice, and I decided to go along with it since I wasn't in MCC this month for our traditional bit. "Sapnap, it's been so long. Kiss me." I leaned over my armrest a little bit before I started laughing. Sapnap scoffed at me and shook his head, shifting his car into gear. "Let's get you home, you little idiot." I snapped a quick picture of the airport and sent it to Dream. 'On my way home :)' I smiled a bit at my phone before turning it off and setting it in my lap.
It had only been about fifteen minutes at this point, but I was growing so unbelievably impatient. I had been traveling all damn day just to get home to see Dream. I could hardly tolerate being in this car. "Go Sapnap! Faster faster FASTER!" Sapnap gripped the steering wheel a bit harder and shook his head in a light-hearted annoyance. "Shut the fuck up oh my god. You're such an impatient little bitch." I threw my head back against my seat's headrest and groaned loudly. "Sapnaaaap." I glanced over at him, and he rolled his eyes. "Patience, Gogy." He side-eyed me with excitement before turning his attention back to the road. "Seriously, we don't that far from the airport. Just send Dream pictures of our trip home or something to keep you busy. You can even get on a call with him if you're so desperate to hear his voice." I was irritated with the suggestion, but I suppose that I couldn't really do anything else at the moment. Even still, I didn't want to just give in to the suggestion, so instead, I fiddled a bit with the charm on the end of the necklace that I was wearing and shut my eyes.
"Are you absolutely sure that you want to do this?" I gripped my phone tightly, my eyes locked on my phone screen. "Dream just shut up and show me before I change my mind, you idiot." He chuckled a bit and lowered his camera from facing the ceiling to facing himself. "Hi, George..." I narrowed my eyes a little bit, and a smile slowly crossed my face. "Dream... you look so..." I trailed off a bit because I didn't really know how to finish that sentence. "I'm hoping that the end of that sentence was good?" I slowly nodded in confirmation of his wonders as I studied his face. I chuckled a bit and covered my mouth once the realization set in. I was seeing Dream's face. "Oh my god, Dream! This is so... surreal..." Dream smiled and blushed a bit, and I bit my bottom lip slightly. "We get it, George. You're in love with Dream." My face went red, and Dream started laughing at Sapnap's comment. "Shut up, Sapnap!"
I opened my eyes again and sighed deeply. "Ooh what were you thinking about, George? You're all red." I glared over at my friend and simply flipped him off. "Yeah, I assumed you were thinking about Dream." I turned my head away from him and looked back out the window, still fiddling with the charm at the end of my necklace. I really couldn't wait to be home.
Dream's POV:
I fiddled with the charm on my necklace a bit due to nerves. George was coming to America today, and he and Nick would be home any minute now. George has been sending me tons of pictures during his trip, and it's been hilarious to watch him get so excited about the things that I've grown up with. The last picture that I got from him was one of a road sign for the interstate leaving the airport. He was just so baffled about our roads being called highways instead of motorways. He was cute like that.
After a while of just endless waiting and anxiety-filled anticipation, my phone lit up with a notification from Nick. "Just pulled in." My heart dropped to my stomach for a moment. After years of knowing him, I was finally going to meet George in person.
I heard the familiar sound of a car door being shut outside, and I ran up to my front door like I didn't know exactly who it was. Upon seeing that it was in fact my two best friends, I opened the front door and stepped outside a bit to greet them. George's eyes shot over to meet mine, and a look of disbelief crossed his face. "Dream?" The previous confusion was almost instantly replaced by glee as I rushed over to him and hugged him as tightly as I could. "George! Oh my god, you're here!" He started giggling and hugged me back a bit awkwardly. I didn't pay much attention to that though because I was just so happy that he was here in person with me after years of anticipation. I pulled slightly away from the hug and glanced down at his chest to see that he was wearing his half of our heart lockets. I cupped his face with both hands and stepped close to him. "I fucking love you, Davidson." I leaned down and kissed him, and George instantly broke into laughter which made me start laughing as well. "George!" I let go of him and took a step back, still laughing a bit because he was laughing. "I'm sorry, okay? You can't just do that, Dream. Holy shit." I rolled my eyes and glared at him playfully. "Do you even know how long I've been waiting to kiss you, fucker?" George cringed slightly and shook his head in disapproval of my comment. I knew that he struggled with showing affection, but he would have to deal with it sooner or later. "Get over it, George. You're the one that wanted to live here, so this is your life now." I pulled him close to me and repetitively kissed his cheek until he started giggling again. "Stop, you idiot!" His pathetic attempt to push me away only spurred me on further until I heard the trunk of the car slam shut. I jolted away from George a bit and looked up to see Nick at the back of his car. "No, no don't mind me. Please continue fucking each other, and I'll take George's bags inside." I dropped my arms back down to my side and sighed deeply. "Message heard loud and clear, alright?" I held my hands up for a moment as a sign of surrender before helping with carrying George's things inside. I had already started setting up George's room with the things that have arrived, so he wouldn't have too much to unpack from the flight from England.
George followed me into his room with his backpack slung over his shoulder, excitement lighting up his face. "Dream, you have to see this! We were driving home from the airport, right? So Sapnap had to stop to get gas because he's an idiot, and there was just this giant alligator in the car park!" He then proceeded to play a video of him and Nick freaking out about the alligator in said parking lot which made me laugh. "Well, we do have gators all over the place here. That's probably going to be something that you're going to have to get used to." His eyes widened, and he looked at me with a mix of excitement and fear. "I'm gonna fucking die here..." He looked back down at his phone with nervousness instead of his previous excitement. I chuckled a bit at his intense, nervous stare and wrapped my arms around his torso. "You're so cute..."
I noticed that he started fidgeting with his heart charm which reminded me of something. "Oh, hey! I got that frame that you wanted for the locket." I let go of him and walked over to his desk to search through a box that was on the floor. It didn't take long before I stood back up with a picture frame in hand. I set it down on his desk, and he came up beside me to look at it. "It has the little hooks on the inside too so we can hang the necklaces in the frame." I pointed to parts of the frame as I talked about it then looked over at George to see a sweet little smile on his face.
I undid the frame from its case and took off my locket to put it in the frame. George followed my lead and connected the two halves of the heart, smiling a bit when they magnetized together. I glanced over at him with an endearing smile, and he met my eyes shortly after. "I love you, Clay." I scoffed at his comment and shook my head slightly. "Clay..." I repeated with a slight chuckle. Even though I made fun of him when he said my name, it was starting to grow on me a little bit. Especially when he prefaced it by telling me that he loved me.
I grabbed his hand tightly and kissed his temple. To my surprise, he leaned into the affection which made me blush a bit. "I love you, George. Welcome home." He leaned his head against my shoulder and glanced up to see my face still a bit red. He smiled at that sight before looking back down at the locket. "Such an idiot..."
