Work Text:
For the major part of it, Wolvendom was a place submerged in silence, few animals lived in the zone, that with Andrius having taken the forest as his territory and the wolf packs making the place their home. And the few that lived in the place were aware that silence was their best protection.
And humans rarely ever stepped in, the place having been declared almost as forbidden to them decades ago already, few were the ones that dared to enter the wolves’ territory, and even a smaller amount that did so were the ones that had permission from the forest’s protector.
Silence, it was Wolvendom almost natural state, occasionally the howl of the wolves marking the beginning of a hunt would resonate through the forest but aside from that the silence was never broken; Except for a few occasions, just like now.

“Razor, I’m sorry but this is going to hurt, I’ll count to 3, and then we will move you. Okay?”
The only reason as to why Lumine’s hands didn’t tremble at the whimper that Razor gave as an answer, was because by this point in her life, injuries and pain were nothing more than one aspect more of it.
At her side, and waiting for her instruction Diluc also remained firm and serious.
“Okay. One…”
There’s another whimper escaping out of Razor’s mouth when Diluc lightly rustles him, none of them like it, but to move him it’s necessary to have to grab Razor by both of his arms, even if one of them is injured, probably broken by the look of it.
“Two…”
Under her feet Geo energy collects, around her hands she can also feel it, she’ll need to be careful, she has to invoke the Geo structure right under the rock that keep Razor’s legs trapped, but also in a way in which it doesn’t touch him and injures him further.
And the moment in which the rocks are lifted then Diluc will pull Razor away.
“Three.”
The structure appears and the rocks are lifted over it, she thinks she hears a ‘sorry’ leaving Diluc’s lips, but if the man had actually said something it is quickly drowned by the screams and whimpers left out by Razor.
In seconds Diluc has already moved Razor away from the place in which he was previously trapped, Lumine is quick to run to their side.
Over the forest floor Razor wails and violently jerks in his place, Diluc tries to stop him, the movement no doubt only intensifies the pain and the gravity of his injuries, but every time Diluc puts his hands over Razor to get a hold of him, Razor only tries to get Diluc’s hands away from him, and Diluc finds himself having to put his hands away, keeping them will only make Razor to try and grab them, only managing in injuring his arm even more.
She drops herself to the floor, Diluc at her side, and in front Razor still flailing, no stop for his actions near to come.
Her hands hover over the boy, she already knows that trying to grab him will accomplish nothing, but his cries urging her to put an end to his pain.
Right now, knocking him put would be the best course of action, the pain isn’t allowing him to think clearly and keeping him unable to cooperate, if they allow this to continue his injuries will only grow worse.
Quickly she looks at Diluc, and understanding is clear in his eyes, with no other word she sneaks an arm over Razor’s back and lifts his up, the other trying to prevent his injured arm from moving too much, a bite to her left arm is gat she gets, but the moment that Razor is almost sitting Diluc is quick to act, a hit to the back of his neck and Razor is quick to go down.
Lumine follows his fall and gently puts him to lie down once again.
For a moment they remain in silence, and they allow themselves too finally calm down a little for all of the events of the day.
The chasing that started early in the morning after some Abyss Mages, the ambush that waited for both Diluc and Lumine the moment they entered the densest part of Wolvendom, the fight that seemed almost endless, then Razor appearing from nowhere and getting involved in the fight, and finally the injury that he received almost at the end of the fight.
And as if all of that hadn’t been enough the rockslide that trapped Razor before he could get up after being knocked down.
Little light was able to reach them, the branches full of leaves above them blocking the major part of it, but Lumine could tell that it wouldn’t be that long before nightfall.
“We should leave soon, the night is almost on us.”
Diluc nods, and turns to stare at Razor, “If we hurry we will be able to arrive at the winery before he wakes up again.”
She stands and behind Diluc lifts Razor, the boy whimpers at the movement, even in sleep the pain being unavoidable, both would prefer to move him in any other way, but whit this part of the forest being as dense as it is, a stretcher would be impossible to move around.
And considering that what they want right now is speed it would be better for them to walk while Diluc carries Razor.
She walks in first, occasionally having to cut down a bush or some branches blocking the path, the darkening sky above urging her on occasions to walk faster, but she knows that right now Diluc won’t be able to follow her if she were to do it.
The terrain is uneven and rough, and every time there’s a need to go down or Diluc has to make a big move, still passed out in his arms, Razor whimpers and cries.
The forest is becoming less dense, and soon Wolvendom will be well behind them, just a little more, just a little bit is all that Razor has to endure.
Slowly the trees around them reduce, and soon they leave the wolves’ territory, the path in front of them becomes easier to walk in.
The sun is about to set when Dawn Winery appears in the distance, and laying still unmoving Razor hasn’t woken up.
Things will be now okay, she runs now, leaving Diluc behind, she’ll arrive first and ask for a room for Razor to be prepared, and to call for a doctor to come as soon as possible.
Everything will be okay, she repeats to herself.
