Work Text:
The cherry trees had become a real national treasure, being such striking things it took a long time for the government to be able to take down different high grade monsters to recover a few and it took them even longer to be able to make sure they survived in captivity.
But that was past tense, because recently the Teams One through Ten from the company Kim Rok Soo worked for had managed to clear Yeouido Park, just in time for spring.
And that's where he was now, together with his dearest Treasure and his beloved North Star (although he was never going to say something like that out loud). Standing under a huge tree, watching the petals fall with a grace that didn't match the hell the earth had become but laughed at it, saying "look at me, I haven't fallen yet and I'm not going to fall."
“Rok Soo.”
His eyes automatically shifted to the man who had called out to him, in that way he had done since they had met, with all the attention easily visible in his gaze, waiting.
“This really is beautiful, isn't it?”
And none of them needed to be a genius to know that they weren't talking about the trees or the petals or the paradise that held its place even in devastation, not with the way the three of them looked at each other, with a softness reserved only for those who held their hearts in the palm of their hands.
“En.”
