Summary:

Shouta knows his home like is rough, which is exactly why he doesn't want his friends - or his boyfriend - to come over ever. Fate doesn't seem to agree.

Whumptober Day 3- Hair’s breadth from death

Gun to temple | “Say goodbye” | Impaled

Chosen: "Say Goodbye."

TW: I use the f slur a few different times during this. If it makes you uncomfortable, don't read! It's used in bad context.

Work Text:

"BUT SHOU!" Hizashi screeches, "You can't just spring this on me after we made plans!"

"Yeah, Shou. It really should be illegal to ditch Hizashi like this. Maybe I'll just steal your partner while you're away." Oboro grins and slides his arm around Hizashi's shoulder.

Shouta doesn't have the energy to deal with his friends today, "I've told you multiple times that you can't guilt trip me into staying. I have business to take care of-"

Hizashi scoffs, "Your family isn't business. And I'm totally kidding by the way. Enjoy your time with your family. When are they coming by to pick you up?"

"They aren't. I'm going over there myself." Shouta mutters, stuffing his textbooks back into his school bag.

Oboro does the same, only with more care on how things are placed inside. "Tsk tsk Hizashi… letting your boyfriend walk all alone."

Shouta glares at his friend, "Shut up. Get yourself a boyfriend and then you can talk. Single ass."

"Shouta, don't be rude! And it's totally okay, I'll walk with you!" Hizashi grins and jumps to his feet.

Shouta frowns and stands up slowly swinging his bag onto his back. He doesn't want any of his friends coming around his parent's place. "I'll be fine. Don't you have dinner with your moms anyways?"

"That I do!" Hizashi nods rapidly, "But I'll be back in time! So now you don't have to walk alone."

Shouta sighs, "Is there anything I can do to change your mind?"

"Nope!"

"Fuck my life." Shouta starts walking out of the room, "Fine you can walk with me."

Oboro lived on the other side of town so once they got outside the three of them went separate ways.

"You know," Hizashi starts, "I've never met either of your parents. Man, you barely talk about them, huh?"

"And you still won't meet them." Shouta says sternly.

If his friends found out the kind of people who raised him… he wasn't sure he'd be able to look them in the eyes again.

Hizashi groans dramatically, "You and all your secrets. You'll have to share them eventually."

"The whole point of secrets is to keep them a secret." Shouta points out grumpily.

He was glad he didn't live super far from Hizashi's house, he didn't want to hear any more berating from the other.

Once they get to his street Shouta stops walking. "You can go home now."

Hizashi stops too and turns to look at Shouta, "You're wanting to keep me away that badly? Am I being too pushy? Oh shit, I'm sorry if I am-"

"You're fine." Shouta says flatly, "I don't let anyone over."

Hizashi crosses his arms and pouts, "Not even me? You most favorite person ever?"

"No. Not even you, drama queen."

Shouta stepped behind his boyfriend and started shoving him back the way they came from. He should have stopped Hizashi before the street.

"Shouta!" That screech definitely didn't belong to Hizashi.

Shouta pulls his hands back quickly and spins to face his mother. Sure enough she was storming down the street towards them. Luckily her eyes weren't aimed at either of them.

Shouta steps forward to stop her from coming closer, "I know I'm late. Go back inside before you do something you'll regret."

She slaps the hand he raises away from her arm, "Oh trust me, I won't regret shit. Who is this?"

"Uh, Yamada Hizashi, Aizawa-san." Hizashi says with slight hesitation.

"Don't call me by that name." She spits and turns her anger back at Shouta, "You told me that fag moved away."

"Where are your glasses?" Shouta hisses, choosing to ignore that comment for a moment.

"At the house."

"Go back and get them if you want to do this right now."

Her eyes glow and before Shouta can react his body locks up in the middle of the street. Fear explodes in his chest for his boyfriend. His mom pushes past him and grabs Hizashi's arm, "Fine. Let's go back to the house. I wouldn't want the police called on me, again."

Hizashi is dragged into eyesight and he shoots a glance at Shouta in passing. Shouta's mom whips him back around, "Shouta will be joining us in a moment."

Shouta can do nothing but watch in dread as Hizashi is dragged into the house before he regains control of his body again. He sprints off towards the house and freezes when he sees Hizashi just standing there. His mother's eyes are still glowing.

"Release him." Shouta growls.

She ignores him and walks towards the living room, "Why did you bring the faggot here? I told you to stop being friends with it."

Shouta shakes in anger, "He's not an it."

"Say goodbye, Shouta." She drawls, "If you can't listen to my rules, we're removing you from the situation."

"You can't fucking do that! Yuuei was the only school to accept me."

"Trust me, I know. That's only because you're too useless to be wanted anywhere else."

Shouta's own eyes start glowing even though he knows it won't help. Never before did he wish so badly his quirk erased already existing effects. "You shut up! You cannot pull me from Yuuei. You can't afford to send me somewhere else."

"Maybe not. But your whore of a father can."

Shouta's heart pounds, "No. You won't send me to him."

A bottle flies towards him and he knocks it to the side and it shatters against the wall. "You don't get to tell me what I can and cannot do! I am the adult here, not you! You don't get to make these kinds of decisions for yourself. You're a child, act like it."

"I will tell you one more time before I call the fucking police, release Hizashi from your quirk. Now."

She huffs, "You're just as ungrateful as your father. You shouldn't be exposed to things like that!"

Shouta lowers his gaze into a glare when he's forced to blink. He feels the exact moment his quirk shuts off and her's activates again. Years of being put under it has gotten him used to the feeling of being 'turned to stone'. But he can't imagine how Hizashi is handling the forgein feeling.

Hizashi… he was supposed to be at dinner with his mom's right now, not being frozen in place and being called a fag by his boyfriends mom.

"Say goodbye, Shouta. Because this is the last time you'll be seeing it."

He watches his mother walk around him, stopping only to grab his phone before leaving to seemingly lead Hizashi out and away from the house. It takes hours for his body to slump to the ground, unable to stay standing after being forced to for so long.

While he knows that won't in fact be the last time he sees Hizashi he knows it might be one of the last times seeing his mother.

And he thinks he's fine with that.
