"What are you doing?" I question, rounding the corner.

"Oh! Perfect timing."

Jen pushes a hefty cardboard box into my open hands. I falter as I hold it, trying to put the weight on my uninjured forearm.

"Woah. What is this stuff?"

"Your Mum's files from the historical society." She looks up at me from the ground. "I got roped into helping Mrs. Lockwood... and by roped, I mean very excited to participate."

"I thought you were fond of rope," I snicker with a smirk. Her eyes widen at me as she gets up, her face reddening as she sends me a glare. "What?"

She closes the door to the Harry Potter bedroom and I jump in surprise as it reveals a man. He's dressed in a form-fitting suit covered in a black coat, and my heart seems to stutter as his captivating brown eyes meet mine.

"Hey. I'm Elijah."

Notes:

ミミ◦❧◦°˚°◦.¸¸Background Information: Marianna is the younger sister of Miranda and Jenna Sommers. When both of the Sommer parents die from unknown causes, Jen is just a teenager and shipped to their older grandparents' house for guardianship. Meanwhile, Miranda and her husband, Grayson Gilbert voluntarily take in the young child. Basically, Marianna grows up knowing Jen as her estranged sister (who she didn't really grow close with until after Miranda and Grayson's untimely deaths), Miranda and Grayson as her parents, in addition to seeing Elena and Jeremy as her 'siblings' even though in technicality, she's their aunt. There's more than what meets the eye here in relation to Mari's birthright, and why exactly grandma Elizabeth didn't take her in.
