"I'm betting that Scott is-"
Jimmy audibly yawned in the middle of his sentence. "Awww is Jimmy tiiired?" Shelby teased. "Yeah, it's past his bedtime." Scott snickered, moving his Among Us character around the small group.
Jimmy groaned, "I haven't even had dinner yet." Scott's character stops and suddenly the death animation plays featuring Jimmy's character being killed by Scott's character. Jimmy yelps and then the report happens.
"Scott did it! Scott did it!" Shelby shouted, and Katherine agrees, "Yeah, he did it in front of us!" Jimmy winces at the shouting, but keeps paying attention. It was pretty quick that Scott was voted off, and then Jimmy heard a ping from his discord.
It read 'Me and Jim are gonna hop off, night everyone' in the groupchat for the Among Us group. Jim clicked over to his and Scott's DMs, and wrote 'Y are we both getting off? I wantd to keep playing'. Despite that, Jimmy still closed the Among Us tab.
His discord started ringing, Scott's profile popping up. Jimmy answered the video call almost instantly. "Sorry Flower, but you need to eat, not play games." Jimmy frowned and whined quietly. "Are you feeling small, Flower?" Jimmy held up three fingers, looking down at his lap. "Mhm, thought so baby boy. Where's Kirsty? Is she home?" Jimmy shakes his head no, it wasn't uncommon for Kirsty get stuck working overtime at the café, covid made a lot of her co-workers quit. "Is that why you haven't eaten yet despite it being late? You don't want to use the kitchen while you're so tiny?" Jimmy nods, still staring at his lap.
Scott hums, "Would you like me to come over until she gets back?" Jimmy looks up with wide eyes and nods quickly. Scott chuckles, "Alright, let's stay on call while I drive over, it'll be.." Scott hums, "20 minutes or so, okay kid?" Jimmy nods again. "Since you seem nonverbal, can you knock once for yes and twice for no when I'm driving since I have to pay attention to the road?" Scott asks as he steps outside his house, Jimmy knocks once on his desk to show he understands.
"Alrighty kid, I'm on my way now." Scott says as he fumbles with his phone to set it on the steering column as he gets in the car, so Jimmy can still see his face. Jimmy giggled lightly and stimmed by clenching his hands into fists, then unleashing a couple times. "So, kiddo, what are you gonna want for dinner when I get there? Mac and cheese?" Jimmy double knocks. "Dino Nuggies?" Jimmy double knocks again, huffing out a frustrated whine. Scott hums for a moment, turning his head as he looks to see if it's safe for him to go.
"Ham and cheese sandwiches?" Jimmy knocks once, then does his fist stim. "Bingo!" Scott exclaims, "I should've known, you love ham and cheese sandwiches when little, huh baby boy?" Jimmy knocks once and giggles.
"Alright baby boy, I just pulled up," Scott looks down at the camera, no longer needing to pay attention to putside the vehicle, "is the door locked?" Jimmy shrugs, sometimes Kirsty locks it on her way out, sometimes she forgets. "Can you come meet me at the door?" Scott asks, picking up his phone and starts walking the sidewalk up to Jimmy's door. Jimmy nods and shuffles up, leaving camera frame, so Scott hangs up.
Scott walks up to the door just as the slightly shorter opens it. "Well hello there, baby!" Scott smiles as Jimmy flaps his arms to stim upon seeing him. "How 'bout we see about making those sandwiches, huh bud?" Scott asks as he walks in and ruffles Jimmy's hair and Jim squeaks.
Setting his keys on the counter, Scott starts rifling through the cabinets in the kitchen. "Hey Kiddo, where's the bread?" Scott asks moving to another cabinet. Jimmy walks up to the pantry instead of a cabinet and opens it, "Ah thank you Flower, now I can start on those sandwiches." Scott ruffles Jimmy's hair again as he walks over, he may or may not have an obsession with the little squeak Jim makes when he does it.
Pulling out the bread, Scott turns to Jimmy once more. "Any toppings? Mayo or something? Or just plain?" Jimmy hums for a second, then gets up and grabs the mayo from the fridge, and goes to the dinner table and grabs the salt and pepper. He turns back to Scott and holds the three items out to him.
Scott nods and takes the items, "Alright baby, give me a minute to make the sandwich, kay?" Jimmy nods and sits down at the breakfast bar, watching Scott make the sandwich, knowing how much was enough mayo, and how much wasn't quite enough, and the same with the salt and pepper.
Scott cuts the sandwich into triangles and passes the plate to Jimmy, who promptly takes it and starts munching. "I'm going to go get you PJs, want anything specific?" Scott asks, Jimmy looks at him then does sign language for cat. Scott nodded then went to search for Jimmy's cat onesie.
Jimmy was done with his sandwich by the time Scott got back, onesie in hand. "You gonna need help baby boy?" Scott asks, setting the onesie on the counter and taking the plate to set it in the sink. Jimmy nods, looking away bashfully. "I don't mind helping buddy, come on, let's go to your room to get you changed."
Jimmy hops down and follows Scott into his room. Scott helps him change, going slow so the boy didn't feel rushed. "Alrighty buddy, I think it's about time we head to bed!" Scott smiles at Jimmy as he ruffles his hair again.
Jimmy whines, then does sign language for "mommy". "You wanna wait for Kirsty?" Scott asks, Jimmy nods. "I don't know bud, we don't know when she'll be back if she's being held back for lack of employees." Jimmy whines more and hits his wrists together, his only way of conveying a negative emotion through stimming.
Scott smiles softly, "I know buddy, it is very frustrating. Maybe soon they'll have more employees and she won't have to stay overtime." Scott rests a hand on Jimmy's shoulder, which Jimmy leans his head onto and huffs. Scott chuckles at that.
"Come on, up in bed." Scott s miles, picking Jimmy up from around the waist and plopping him onto the bed. Jimmy giggled at that and made grabby hands at Scott. "No," Scott giggled, "I'm not doing it again, baby boy. It's time for bed!" Jimmy crossed his arms and huffed dramatically at this.
"And I thought I was a drama queen." Scott playfully rolled his eyes, then grabbed a book off the bedside table. "Want a story before bed?" Jimmy nods, and makes grabby hands to express his want even more.
Scott sits down next to Jimmy and starts reading "Dragons Love Tacos" to him. Scott is only halfway through the book when he hears Jimmy's breathing slow down, indicating he fell asleep.
Scott sets the book back down on the bedside table and heads out to the living room to wait for Kirsty.
It's almost one in the morning when Kirsty pushes through the door, startling a half asleep Scott on the couch. He stands up quickly once he realises who it is, much to his body's dismay.
"Kirsty! Oh my god, it's almost one in the morning!" Scott says as he goes to support Kirsty, who is swaying from how tired she is. She chuckles and says, "I'm aware, Scott. I just need to go to bed." Scott starts walking with her, and then she suddenly stops.
"Why are you here? You weren't here when I left this morning." Kirsty questions, "Oh, Jimmy regressed, so I fed him dinner and put him to bed." Scott says sheepishly, looking away. Kirsty lets out a small "oh".
"Kirsty, I really think you should quit your job. It can't be legal to work this long! No matter what circumstance!" Kirsty winces at that. "Scott, I have to work there, I can't just leave them! They're already understaffed as is." Scott sighs at that, then continues to walk towards the guest bedroom, "Go on to bed Kirsty, you need sleep."
