Chapter Text

Freddy made his way through the woods back towards the van.

His brows furrowed in confusion and worry as his systems filled with questions.

'Who was that? Are they dangerous? Have they come for Gregory? Is it someone who is trying to take me back to the Pizzaplex?'

He was snapped from his thoughts as he suddenly walked into a tree.

He pushed himself away from it with a groan, shaking his head. 'I need to clear my head.'

Soon, he made it to the edge of the woods, where the van was parked.

He took a deep breath, looking out at the horizon as the sun slowly began to rise, filling the sky with blue.

He exhaled heavily and ran a hand over his face, deciding to check on Gregory to get his mind off things.

He quietly opened the back of the van to find his cub curled up under his blanket, still fast asleep.

Freddy smiled in amusement and he climbed into the van, closing the doors behind him gently, and carefully nudging his boy.

"Superstar..." He got a sleepy groan in protest as the boy slowly moved his arm to halfheartedly swat the bear's hand away.

Freddy chuckled softly. "Time to wake up and greet the day~." He nudged him again.

"Fi' mor' minute', Dad..." Gregory mumbled, words slurred as he refused to get up, cheek comically squished against his pillow.

Freddy couldn't help but chuckle again, this time louder. "Alright, alright... you win." He laid down in front of his boy, gently booping him on the nose. "But only because you're adorable when you're tired like this."

Gregory managed to peel his eyes open the tiniest bit, and he gave the bear a playful shove. "Daaad." He whined in embarrassment.

Freddy smiled and drew his boy into a warm embrace, nuzzling his snout into his hair. "Alright, now, Superstar... go back to sleep for five minutes."

Gregory nodded sleepily, letting out a big yawn before curling up against him and drifting back off into sleep.

Twenty minutes later, and Gregory was finally starting to wake up.

He stirred and turned over, snuggling back into Freddy with a hum.

Freddy chuckled softly and tapped at the boy's side. "It has been over five minutes."

Gregory smiled, eyes still closed, and he grabbed the bear's hand that was wrapped under him, hugging it close. "I don't wanna get up... I'm too warm and comfortable."

Freddy smiled more mischievously and he used the hand his boy was holding to tickle his stomach. "It is time to get up, Son."

Gregory gasped and shrieked in laughter, trying to push his hand away, but the animatronic was infinitely stronger and it stayed there. "Nohohoho! DAD, stahahahap!!"

Freddy laughed and playfully nuzzled against his boy's face, stopping his hand. "Only if you wake up~." He teased.

Gregory pushed the offending nose of the bear away, laughing. "Alright, alright! I'm up!"

It was a regular morning for Freddy and Gregory, the usual waking up to greet the day, playing with each other, and other things they had in their daily routine. The only difference was that they hadn't gotten Gregory any breakfast yet.

Freddy smiled down at his boy, who was standing on his foot, giggling while holding onto his leg as the bear walked around. "We should get you some food, Superstar."

Gregory giggled and looked at him. "Yes, please! I'm starving!"

Freddy chuckled and ruffled his hair, getting an idea. "Would you like to race back?"

The boy nodded excitedly, stepping his foot. "Okay, ready, set, go!" He shouted quickly, before running off on the word 'go'.

Freddy blinked before processing what his cub said, realizing that he needed to run. "Hey, you got a head start!" He laughed as he chased after his boy.

Freddy strategically let Gregory win the race to the van, slowing down ever-so-slightly to where the boy didn't even notice.

Gregory cheered and threw his fists up. "Whooo! I win!"

"Way to go, Superstar!" Freddy proudly gave him a double thumbs up.

The boy smiled widely and laughed, climbing into the van. "So, I was thinking after we find something to eat- well, I guess find me something to eat since you can't but..."

Freddy listened to his boy with a smile, when suddenly...

Movement from the edge of the trees caught his eye.

He turned his head towards it, Gregory's voice becoming background noise as Freddy's systems started filling with panic.

Once again, he saw an all black figure dart away into the woods.

'They are back!' He thought as his eyes widened.

"Dad?"

Gregory's voice snapped him back into reality, and he looked over at his cub to see worry written all over his boy's face.

"Are you okay? You were just staring at the trees..." His boy asked in concern.

"Um... yes, Superstar, I am fine." Freddy paused, glancing back in the direction he saw the figure go. "...Gregory?"

"Yeah?"

"Wait here in the van for me. I need to go check something." Freddy told him, shooing the boy inside the van. "I will be back soon. I promise. Please, lock the doors while I am gone." He smiled before closing the van doors, waiting until he heard it lock.

As soon as he heard the van doors lock, he immediately bolted into the trees after the figure.

He could still see it weaving around and through the trees.

Freddy's eyebrows furrowed in determination.

He wasn't going to lose it this time.

Notes:

Hehehe, cliff hangerrrr! ;)

I promise, the next part will come very soon, I just gotta write it.
Hopefully in the next day or two at least.
