Work Text:
The problem with having every shift at the station was that there was never a good time to catch a nap.
Did you want to cat nap between calls? Sorry, your bed was being used by someone on C-Shift.
Having a bad night? Don’t toss and turn so much, you might annoy the B-Shift Paramedics.
But there was one thing that worked with sleeping in shifts - when the opportunity did arise, sleeping in the jeep was still an option, and no one around could judge Buck for taking it. It was surprisingly comfy, regardless of what everyone thought.
It was late into day two that Buck started doing that when A-Shift was on a mandatory stand down. It was too loud in the station to get any meaningful sleep. While he couldn’t risk running the engine (meaning that the jeep would get oppressively hot), he didn’t care. It was worth the few hours of privacy.
A day later, Eddie joined him in taking their breaks away from everyone else. It worked, they were still close if they had to go out, and no one bothered them.
Well, Ravi tried. He got sent on a wild goose chase for his troubles.
