Izzy’s base level simmering anger was boiling over. Ed was impressed at how much frustration and animosity he could put into those two syllables.
“I found the perfect prey for you. He has piles of gold and a newly built castle. So why is Stede Bonnet still alive?”
Because Stede was a feast, his blood like honeyed wine. After decades of ennui, dark days when Izzy had to beg him to feed, Ed’s hunger had been reawakened by this fascinating man; Ed couldn’t get enough.
Maybe he should send Iz on a little vacation. Did familiars get holiday pay?
