Chapter Text
Darkness..
It surrounded him. There was nothing but pitch black in the void of his mind, not even a single light.
Where.. am I?
The box turtle looked down at his hand. Nothing was different, just the same old golden scars.
It didn’t seem like he was dreaming, nor was he awake.. It was more like he was spectating himself.
He took a step forward.
Huh. That’s wei-
-IRD!!
Mikey could barely finish his thought as the floor crumbled beneath him, immediately crashing into whatever was below.
His head smashed into the hard ground as he plummeted.
“Owww!” he whined as he rubbed his head and sat up,
The turtle blinked and slowly opened his eyes.
Wait- what?
The teenager was in his room, lying on the floor.
He was home !
Quickly, the orange turtle looked around.
I guess it really was a dream.. but- why did that fall hurt so much?!
Mikey sighed as he went to stand, why was he even on the floor in the first place? It’s not like he usually just clocks out there, especially not in the middle of the day.
Eh, he probably just forgot. It's fine.
The turtle went to pull out his phone to check the time, it was actually- MIDNIGHT?!
HUH?! How could I sleep for that long?? Omigosh Raph’s gotta be so worried-
tap taptap
The noise came from his door,
Someone must be knocking!
But.. It was very quick and honestly sounded slightly aggressive.
Mikey looked at the direction of his door, noticing someone's shadow behind it as they approached it.
..It gave him an odd feeling. One he had never felt before.
Slowly, he approached the entrance just as he heard a voice- no not just any voice, Leos voice shout,
“Hey Mikey! Are you alive in there ‘lil bro?”
The teen froze as he was filled with immediate relief. He smiled and took a deep breath as he replied, “Yeah! I’ve just been asleep for a while! Guess I was really tired.” He lightheartedly laughed.
He heard a distant chuckle, it cracked for a moment but then went back to the usual tone.
“But not too tired to watch Jupiter Jim Sails The Seven Galaxiessss?”
Mikey instantly responded, “ Never! ”
“Perfect! Come downstairs in a few, m’kay?”
Orange agreed, “Okay!”
It wasn’t rare for the two to have late movie nights, in fact it was quite common a while after what happened with the Kraang. It was like their special way of pretending that everything was okay and their family wasn’t traumatized.
Sometimes Raph and Donnie would even join in, if the older wasn’t already “asleep” (he usually faked it), or if Donnie wasn’t busy like he usually is.
The box-turtle shook himself out of his thoughts. It was movie time!
He resumed walking towards his door and went to turn the knob.
But as soon as the door opened all he saw was-
darkness.
Just like his dream, It surrounded the entirety of the outside room.
His heart sank as he heard something whispering behind him.
.
..
…
….
“I found you, Michelangelo.”
