Chapter Text

Dean kept in touch and swapped ideas with Bobby after the trip. Ideas of time travel and angels, Bobby didn’t tell Stiles much of the details. The kid still needs to have a life.

It was the beginning of August and Bobby was helping Stiles pack into the Jeep. “You going to be ok kid?”

Stiles stopped and looked at Bobby. “I’m a Winchester.” Bobby shook his head. God why is it always Winchesters. “But yes I’m fine and I’ll keep studying and training.” Bobby nodded as putting the last box in the car.

“Kid, you call me if anything happens. Don’t be an idjit.”

     “Will do.”

It was a quick wave as Stiles got in the car. Bobby stood out in the lot watching Stiles drive away. Time to see if I can track down a dead angel.

The drive home was weirdly shorter than the drive to Bobby’s. Stiles spent the drive half thinking and half tapping his wheel to the beat of the music.

Stiles took the same way going back that he made there. Stepping into the diner again felt like it was just yesterday that he stopped there. Stiles didn’t have school for another few weeks so there was no rush to get home.

As he was finishing up his fries, he looked around the small diner. There were records on the wall that he didn’t notice the first stop. The floor was a classic black and white chequered. There was a jukebox at the other end. The man sitting at the bar in a trench coat. The bright red cushion seats. The man sitting at the bar in a trench coat. Hold up.

Stiles looked back at the man. The man had to be at least an inch or two taller with dark hair. Stiles couldn’t help but stare. It’s not him. Stiles quickly ate his fries and paid. Walking out to his Jeep he knew the man’s eyes were watching him.

Stiles was in Nevada now. The man - Castiel- wasn’t seen again. Stiles was walking back to the Jeep from buying gas when he felt it. He did a 360, nothing in sight. Stiles shook his head and got in the car.

     “What are you?”

Stiles jumped, turning around to find him in the passenger seat.

“It’s not cool to just show up in someone’s car.”

“Dean has told me, you are a hard person to get to.”

“So that means you get to just show up in my car because you couldn’t find any other way to approach me?”

     Castiel just blinked.

“And about that weird question, I’m human.”

“I believe the term Dean uses is 'bs'.”

God angels really don’t have social cues. “Yes I lied, now do you want me to drop you off or are you just staying?”

Castiel nodded, but didn’t move. Stiles shook his head and started the car.

The drive was quite the rest of the way with the music as white noise. It was an hour out when Cas broke the silence. “Your Dean’s kid.”

Stiles smiled. “Yeah and we’re trying to figure out how.”

     “We?”

“Bobby, Dean and I.” The mention of Dean made Cas run an awkward hand down his pant leg. Stiles didn’t say anything more.

It wasn’t until 15 minutes later that Cas spoke again. “How is Dean?”

Stiles couldn’t help but smile. “He’s good. It’s not perfect, but good.” Cas nodded. “Cas, can I ask you something?” Cas nodded again. “Do you have feelings for my dad?”

Cas swallowed. Stiles can see the awkwardness and confusion set in. “We share a profound bond.”

Stiles tapped on the wheel. “What does that mean?”

Cas looked out the window and fidgeted with his fingers quickly. “I care for Dean.”

Stiles chowed his lip. “Do you ever think what it would be like to be with him?”

“Be with him?” Cas was staring at Stiles with confusion.

“I like what humans do. Love. Buy a house together. Care for each other. I don't know. What people normally do when they love someone.”

Cas nodded. “Human emotions are complicated.”

I need a drink . “Look, you like the guy and he likes you too, so just get a room already.”

Cas titled his head. “Dean never explains that one.”

Stiles titles his head bewildered. “Never explains what.”

“The act of getting a room.”

I’m going to need a whole bar after this. “Ask him next time you see him and tell him Stiles sent you.”

Cas nodded, but said nothing else.

The ride went better afterward. It was around 6 in the morning when Stiles passed the sign into Beacon Hills. He pulled the Jeep into the driveway a few minutes later. Stiles was about to get out when he remembered the man next to him. “Are you going to sit there or help me get inside?”

Castiel got out of the car without a word. Stiles followed getting out and went to get the two boxes from the back seat. As he was getting the second box out, a pair of hands took it. Stiles turned and looked at Cas. “Do you ever smile?” Cas just gave a small smile. If you can even call it that. Stiles shook his head and led them into the house.

Stiles opened the door to find Noah in the kitchen. “Hey.” Noah looked up from the coffee machine.

     “Who’s this?”

Stiles nodded his head toward Cas. “Dean’s boyfriend.” Cas looked like he was about to argue when Noah took his hand and shook it.

     “Noah. Stiles’ adoptive father.”

     “Castiel.”

Noah nodded. “Well I’ll let you get comfortable. I got to be at work in a minute.” They nodded at each other and Noah left.

Stiles started walking up the stairs with Cas following. “This is my room.” Stiles pulled open the door. “You can put the boxes on the bed.”

Cas put the boxes down while looking around the room. “I’ll be right back, I got to get something.” Stiles ran out the room looking for his angel plush. I wonder what he’s doing here. Guess I can call Bobby.

Stiles found the plush in the living room where he left it last. Smiling Stiles ran back up the stairs. “You-

Cas was staring out the window while talking on the phone. Guess he didn’t notice yet. Stiles did what any sane person did, eavesdrop.

     “Dean.”

     …

     “Your kid.”

     …

     “When?”

     …

     “He’s not human Dean.”

     ………..

     “Nephilim?”

     …..

“Dean, when do you have a kid with an angel?”

     ……..

“Yes.” With a ruffle of fabric Cas was gone. Wings not fabric

Later came questions from Noah about the trip that wasn't asked over phone calls. Stiles answered them the best way possible without bringing up the supernatural. I wish I had told him that night.

After dinner, Stiles went to Scott's and the questions started all over again. Of course with the supernatural this time.

Notes:

I've been putting this post off, idk why.

I know one thing tho...

I hate English class. I have never been so stressed out about a class before. I want this year to end, so I can do shit I actually like without worrying.

Just needed to vent.
