Work Text:
Seungmin wandered around the unfamiliar halls once more, holding the pink slip of paper regarding the photography club meeting schedule.
It had been a week since Seungmin moved into town and he still hadn’t learned his way around the school yet. So now, he was stuck wandering the halls looking for the art wing.
Seungmin cursed under his breath when he hit another dead end, growing frustrated. How big was this school?
He was close to giving up and going home when he noticed a blue-haired boy grabbing something from his locker. This was his chance.
“Excuse me? Hi, sorry. I’m looking for room A131. Do you know where that is?” Seungmin rambled, anxiously playing with his fingers.
The blue-haired boy turned around with a smirk and Seungmin swore this boy had to be the prettiest thing he had ever seen. Not that he should really be focused on the boy’s looks right now.
“You must be new here. We don’t get new students often,” The pretty boy spoke, tilting his head and scanning his eyes over Seungmin.
“Yeah, I moved here last week. I’m still getting used to it,” Seungmin answered honestly, fiddling with his fingers again.
The blue-haired stared at Seungmin for a second more before smiling and speaking again.
“This school is kind of big. Lucky for you, I know my way around it,” The boy assured, grabbing ahold of Seungmin’s hand and pulling him down a hall.
Seungmin stayed quiet most of the walk, trying to memorize the hallways as they passed. Though his mind kept wandering to the fingers intertwined with his. Something about the blue-haired boy made Seungmin’s stomach flip.
“Here you go, A131. My job here is done,” The boy blurted, turning around with a polite smile. It was only when their hands were no longer connected, Seungmin realized they had been standing outside room A131.
“Wait!” Seungmin yelled, causing the pretty boy to turn around with a smirk.
“I didn’t catch your name.”
The pretty boy laughed, tilting his head back.
“I didn’t throw it,” The boy answered and turned around without another word. Seungmin stood in shock before shaking his head and walking into the photography room.
-
“You must be new here! Hi, I’m Hyunjin,” A blonde boy shouts from across the room as soon as he entered, practically running over to Seungmin.
“I’m Seungmin. Nice to meet you,” Seungmin admitted, smiling at Hyunjin’s excitement.
“How come I haven’t seen you around yet?” Hyunjin questioned, moving his photographs so that Seungmin could sit.
“I’ve been keeping to myself mainly. I try to stay focused in class and I don’t know anyone so I eat in the library,” Seungmin answered shyly, playing with his fingers to soothe his embarrassment.
“You should eat with me tomorrow. My friends are really nice. You’ll like them,” Hyunjin responded with a smile. Seungmin returned the gesture.
“Okay, I’ll see you tomorrow then.”
-
Seungmin made his way into the lunchroom for the first time since he moved here, cautiously scanning the crowd for Hyunjin. No luck. He should probably just head back to the library.
“Seungmin! Over here!” Seungmin heard, turning his head toward Hyunjin as he waved him over with a smile. Seungmin took one last deep breath and began walking over.
“Everyone, this is Kim Seungmin. He’s new here, so be nice. Seungmin, this is Jeongin, Felix, and Minho. Our other three friends aren’t here today,” Hyunjin explained, pointing to each of his friends.
Seungmin’s eyes widened when his eyes fell on the blue-haired boy from yesterday. The cute boy, Minho as Hyunjin introduced him, smirked and gestured for Seungmin to sit in the seat in front of him.
“This is a pleasant surprise. I didn’t think I’d see you again, new boy.”
-
Seungmin later found out that the three other friends, Jisung, Chan, and Changbin, record a music segment for the school’s radio station on Wednesdays, which is why they had been absent the day Seungmin joined the group.
Seungmin found that he integrated into their group nicely, but nobody stood out to him more than Lee Minho.
To Seungmin, Minho was funny and smart and really sweet, but secretly. He was perfect and charming and so fucking beautiful that it hurt. But boy was he annoying.
-
“Good morning, new boy, how was calculus?” Minho questioned, suddenly sliding into the seat next to Seugnmin.
Seungmin huffed and turned towards Minho.
“Hyung, I’ve been here for over a month now, will you stop calling me new boy?”
Minho let out a chuckle and leaned back in his chair.
“You don’t like my nickname for you? Fine, but only because I’m getting tired of this one. How does pretty boy sound?”
“Hyung, don’t you think that’s a bit bol-” Seungmin could hear Hyunjin sputter from the other end of the table before being interrupted by a fry hitting his face.
“So? What do you think, pretty boy?”
-
Seungmin honestly thought the nickname would fade after a couple of days, but Minho seemed insistent on keeping it going.
He used it anywhere and everywhere, never missing an opportunity to embarrass Seungmin. Not that Seungmin really minded being called pretty boy from Minho.
Still, Seungmin wanted to know why Minho was so insistent on giving Seungmin a nickname and he was determined to find out soon.
-
Seungmin and Minho sat quietly in the library, silently studying for their respective classes really. Well, Minho was. Seungmin couldn’t quite concentrate on anything other than Minho.
“Why do you keep staring at me, pretty boy? I know I’m handsome but have some self-respect,” Minho questioned, not even glancing up from his book. This was his chance.
“You know, if you keep calling me pretty boy, I’m going to start thinking you’re actually attracted to me,” Seungmin joked.
Minho placed his book down, giving his undivided attention to Seungmin.
“That’s kind of the point, Seungminnie, I don’t just call everyone I know pretty,”
Seungmin’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“What does that mean?” Seungmin questioned, earning a huff from Minho.
“Come on Seungminnie, I thought you were smarter than this,” Minho taunted.
Seungmin pondered for a second. No, there was no way Minho could possibly like him back, could he?
“Hyung, do you perhaps like me?” Seungmin challenged.
Minho’s smirk briefly dropped from his face, turning back to his book. Seungmin’s eyes widened in excitement.
“You do like me! Oh my gosh, hyung. I didn’t know I was so charming,” Seungmin teased, earning a smack from Minho’s book.
“Shhh. We are in a library, Kim Seungmin. Have some decency,” Minho scolded.
Seungmin giggled, bringing Minho’s book down with his finger, forcing Minho’s gaze to fall on him.
“You know I like you too, right hyung?” Seungmin teased.
Minho playfully scoffed before answering.
“Oh, I know… You’re not very good at hiding your feelings,” Minho joked, earning a smack from Seungmin.
“Hey! It’s the truth.”

Bonus:
“Hyung, let’s get mint chocolate pleaseeee,” seungmin whined as the two stood in the frozen desserts section. Minho huffed, grabbing the strawberry ice cream.
“If you keep giving me those puppy dog eyes, you're gonna turn into an actual dog, Seungminnie,” Minho scolded. Seungmin pouted and began to whine again.
“Hyung please, we got strawberry last time,” seungmin sulked. Minho chuckled, glancing at his boyfriend’s pouting face. Damn those puppy eyes.
“Fine, but we are watching My Neighbor Totoro then.”
Seungmin’s eyes widened in shock and excitement. It’s not like Minho to give up this easily.
“Deal!”
Minho chuckled, pulling Seungmin in for a short kiss.
“I love you, hyung.”
“I love you too, my pretty boy,” Minho teased, jumping out of the way before Seungmin could react.
“Hyung!”
Some things will never change.
