Work Text:
Chalice had convinced Mugsy to spend the day with her.
“Just us girls, a sisters day!” she had suggested.
And since Mugsy didn’t really have much one-on-one time with her siblings nowadays, she had agreed to it.
The girls went to the city first thing in the morning, both of them being charming enough to get whatever they wanted.
And while Mugsy didn’t like the idea of stealing, she had agreed because Chalice had wanted to do it.
Chalice had also promised to do whatever Mugsy wanted afterwards, then do something they both would like to do.
So they would both enjoy their day.
Mugsy did like the dancing, and she also liked how everyone saw her as the girl she was now.
When Chalice had enough of her fun, she asked what was next.
“Let’s get ice cream! But no charming, we have to pay for them,” Mugsy said.
Her sister had to agree.
When a very familiar Ice Cream Man greeted them, Mugsy froze.
She had apologised for her actions, but that had been before she came out.
And she worried about what kind of reaction she would get.
“Well, hey old friend! I haven’t seen you in a while,” the Ice Cream Man smiled at her. “Would you like to hear the flavour of the day, little lady?”
“….yes, please,” Mugsy managed to say, pleasantly surprised.
And….very happy.
She and Chalice got their ice cream.
They ended up at the arcade for the rest of the day.
And Mugsy would think about earlier, how validated and happy she had felt.
Funny how support comes from the most unexpected places, huh?
