Martyn was walking on thin ice. No like he really was walking on thin ice. He's searching for the tunnel he dug.
Since it was finally time to leave this world again. To be honest he's gonna miss this world a lot. Garbage Rat and Safety rat.
He got so close to both of them. Martyn wasn't sure if he could handle leaving. But once the Father came home and called the Janitor he knew it was over. A lot of rats got captured by the Janitor and it was easier for them to leave the house.
The Grandma came outsdie to give them some stuff so that they would't die instantly. Which was oh so very kind of her.
Oh boy was he gonna miss this.
And to think about garbage Rat. Oh jeez. It hurts. A lot. They both grew closer and closer. Martyn developed feelings for the little trash rat!
Well can you blame him? Oli was just so, well perfect. He might've not smelled the best. But once he got to know him. He understood how hard it was for Oli. But that's Olis thing to tell not his.
But what he can say is that Oli helped him a lot. And he also helped him a lot.
Oli was also the first one to know that he was trans. Garbage rat was such a supportive guy!
How sad this made him. Just thinking about his friends and fellow rats.
Still no luck with finding a hole in the ice to get into his tunnel. His brain was going nuts. Screaming at him to go back and atleast say goodbye to Garbage rat and Jimmy.
He knew he couldn't he had to leave as soon as possible. His eyes began to water. Yelling at himself in his thoughts to not show any weakness he dried them again and went on with his search.
Finally! There it was. He took a deep breath and dove beneath the ice. He swam through the tunnel and finally.
He could breath again.
Amethyst was all around him. With some mossy cobble here and there.
"Aha there it is! The world portal!" Martyn said to no one in particular. The anxiety was growing. Once he stepped through there. There was no going back. Slowly he inched closer to the portal. He felt himself growing. Tail and rat ears dissapearing. Now at his normal height and without his rat features he stood tall.
"Marty?..."
He froze in place. Garbage Rat. He knew it.
"Where is the Marty I know? Tell me!!" Oli begged him. The human sighed and turned around. He locked eyes with Oli. Oli, who began to slowly inch towards the wall said:
"Who are you and what did you do to Marty!!"
"Oli.. This is me. Martyn." Martyn let out a breathy chuckle.
Martyn lowered himself onto the ground so that the rat wouldn't feel scared. Which worked a bit.
Since Oli slowly came to him.
"Marty? Wowie Marty! You're one of those humans?? And you never told us?" Oli questioned still shocked.
"I'm a shapeshifter yes. It means I can change my looks in a way. So to blend in with everyone I turned into a rat." Martyn explained.
Oli who was now right infront of him looked up at the former rat. Martyn lowered his hand so that Oli could get on it if he wanted too.
Warily Oli climbed onto the hand his lover held out. He felt himself being lifted up. He was now at Martyns eye height so that he could look into his others eyes again.
Olis arms wrapped around some of Martyns fingers. Since that's all he could hold.
Martyn put his hand closer to his face. And Oli began snuggling into his cheek.
Oh if Garbage rat knew that he'd have to leave him soon. He was gonna be devestaded.
Oli began to really snuggle into his cheek and he melted at the touch. He was gonna miss this a lot.
----Small time skip about an hour later----
They were still cuddled together when Martyn began speaking.
"Oli, I really have to go now. I can't stay here anymore!"
"But you can take me with you right?.." Oli muttered
"We both know I can't. World hopping can be dangerous if you're not trained in it!"
"I can't leave you Marty! I'm gonna miss you! Everyone is gonna miss you!"
"Oli I really have to go please.."
There was silence. Then Martyn felt something wet on his cheek.
Then he noticed it was Oli licking his face in an attempt to groom him.
This broke him. He felt like crying but he couldn't show his weakness.
Martyn slowly moved Oli away from his face. The rat still sitting in his hand.
Both stared at eachother before Martyn leaned forward to press a small kiss to Olis small rat head.
One of Martyns bracelets was wrapped around Olis neck and he said:
"Take this and don't forget me please..."
The smaller ones eyes watered and he began crying.
"You promise to visit me one day right?" Questioned Oli him.
"..Yeah of course I will!.."
He knew this wouldn't happen. Never. It wasn't allowed to go to the same world more than once.
"Okay I'm gonna put you up there now alright?" Martyn said putting Oli down on the stone.
Oli sniffled and rubbed his eyes.
"I"ll see you again Martyn! Remember that i love you a lot."
"I love you too Oli. Till we meet again."
Martyn was now infront of the Portal. He looked back once more before he stepped through the portal leaving the dimension.
