Chapter Text
Green. Then black. Then more green.
A scream bubbles up his throat but he hears none of it. He thrashes wildly, consumed by fear and rage and a distinct sense of loneliness in the endless silence that's restricting his limbs and bringing him further, further down.
Down. He thinks it's down.
He can't tell, but he supposes he's sinking. He can feel himself being dragged by a force that's got a hold of him on all sides and if he has any consolation of common sense left, he's sure he's going down.
But down...down where? By who? Or what?
All of those thoughts float in his mind for a good five seconds before a searing pain digs into his skin like a thousand sharp knives had come flying. He jerks as his scales tear and split and bleed. He opens his mouth, only for it to be filled with a thick substance that makes it hard to breathe. It fills him up, up, up. Can he even breathe? What is he in?
Panic takes over and he tries to fight whatever's got him. He kicks and punches, but he hits nothing and all it serves to do is break his body even more.
He's melting just as he is burning.
His chest is caving in. He can't feel his legs anymore. His jaw aches. Everything aches. He's twitchy and he can't breathe and he doesn't know where he is- He needs to get out-
With sudden strength from his numb body (does he even have one at this point?), he propels himself upwards and shoots out of...something? But he doesn't care - he's free.
Cool air seizes his frigid self and he finds himself unable to move past the agony that has yet to subside. His insides are shifting, changing, creating. His scales prickle, no- sting all over and he can't tell if it's from the cold.
There's voices that bounce like echoes in his head. His vision's swimming. He can't see anything past the blur of grey that's in his vision. There's glowing green taking over his right eye. What is that? Where is he?
What is...what is going...on?
