Chapter Text
Light Yagami's P.O.V.:
I exited the university checking my phone. Nothing new until I saw Dad's messages.
From Dad: Light, stay at the university. Ryuzaki and I are going to pick you up to go to the crime scene. He told me yesterday he requested for you to join us.
From Dad: Son, are you sure you want to come?
To Dad: Yes Dad, I'm sure I want to go.
To Dad: How long until you will get here?
Dad didn't reply back, strange. Putting my phone back in my bag, I saw a group of classmates. I walked over to join their conversation to pass the time.
L's P.O.V.:
"Mr. Yagami! Are you ready?" I yelled out from the driver's seat.
"Yes, Ryuzaki. Ah, y-you're driving?"
"I am, no need to worry. I have my license," I reassured him.
"No, I don't doubt that! But, uh, where's Watari?"
"Oh, He went to get more sweets so we'll be picking up Light. Please get in the car Mr. Yagami, Light's class finished already, he should be out by now,"
As Mr. Yagami got in the front seat he asked another question.
"Ryuzaki, why are we taking the police car? You rarely use them, especially to go to crime scenes,"
I smiled at him and simply said, "Don't worry Mr. Yagami, I know what I am doing,"
-20 minutes later-
We made it to the front of the university, with hundreds of students scattered around. Scanning around I saw Light conversing with a group near the left.
"Mr. Yagami, can you tell him we are here,"
"Of course,"
-5 minutes later-
It seems as if Light didn't get the message, did Mr. Yagami contact him at all?
"Mr. Yagami, you did let Light know we are here? Right?"
"I did, is he not coming?"
"No, he's still talking with the others. Didn't even bother checking his phone,"
Good thing I was prepared, I turned on the police car sirens and grabbed the car's microphone.
"Ryuzaki! What are you doing?!"
"Letting Light know that we are here,"
Billions of heads turned in our direction, including Light's. Perfect.
Light's P.O.V.:
I snapped my head at the extraordinary loud police sirens, feeling my face pale at the sight. Please, please, don't let that be Dad and Ryuzaki in the car. The sirens stopped sounding, thankfully. No more than 3 seconds later, a scratching sound came from the vehicle then a voice.
"C..Can Light Y-Yagami come to t..the car,"
That voice was Ryuzaki's...I am going to kill him-
"I repeat, c..can Light Yagami c..come to the c-car,"
"Light! What did you do?!" A voice yelled from afar.
"Light's a criminal now!" Another voice popped up.
Embarrassed, I walked to the car. Should I even consider myself lucky that no one is recording this?
"Light! Smile for the camera!" a classmate of mine said.
Never mind then! Guess I'm not lucky enough! I walked even faster to the car. Getting in, I looked out the window and saw at least 50 students with their phones out pointing in my direction.
"Nice of you to finally come Light, how was school?" Ryuzaki asked as he smiled innocently at me.
"You could have called me, you know?" I whispered angrily.
"We did, but you didn't notice. Did you at least smile for the camera?"
I lowered myself in the car seat out of embarrassment and to avoid the cameras that are still outside the car. Soon enough, I was low enough that the top of my head was the only thing visible through the police car windows. The car started moving until we reached a red light.
"Aww, Light. Don't be so embarrassed. And here I thought it was romantic for someone to be picked up by their partner," Ryuzaki teased.
He's never going to let this moment slide, he'll be talking about it for the next two weeks!
"It's not romantic when that person is getting picked up by a cop car," I hissed angrily.
“So picky,” L fake pouted.
