Work Text:
“So, like…do I have to refer to you with He/Him now?”
Ash turned back at Red, tilting his head slightly, “Weren’t you already calling me ‘him’?”
“No, like,” Red huffed, “I was tryin’ to make a joke.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah. You know how people refer to God with He capitalized? Since your whole God thi–”
“I’m better than Him,” Ash interrupted Red, “What if you called in full capitals? Like ‘Oh you know Ash? Isn’t HE so cool and awesome and…swag?’”
“I am not calling you that.”
“Awh,” Ash fake pouted, “I was hoping you would.”
“Sorry Ashswag. I am not going to scream out your pronouns everytime I have to refer to you.”
Ash chuckled back, “But it would have been funny.”
“It would not have been funny for me!”
“Come on man,” Ash said in a tone you could barely call ‘persuasive’.
“…Am I allowed to leave this religion?”
“Hey! Aren’t disciples supposed to follow me like…forever?”
“Dude, have you not heard about Thomas?”
“No?”
“Bruhhh. ‘Oh I’m Ashswag and I’m better than God’ and He doesn’t even get His one disciple’s jokes!”
Ash rolled his eyes at the comment, pausing for a bit before telling Red to ‘shut up’.
(Not seriously, of course. It’s just His way of telling Red that he doesn’t have another quip to say back).
Red just laughed wildly at Ash’s deadpan (Is it deadpan if He doesn’t have a face?) before continuing placing down more blocks for Sock Inc, both of them idly chatting while Ash fiddled around with his God powers.
And they’d spend the rest of the day like that, just talking about anything and everything, just like they always do.
(I’ve missed you on the server, Ash.)
(And I’ve missed you too, Red.)
