Chapter Text
NOVEMBER 6TH 1983
HAWKINS, INDIANA
Hawkins National Laboratory, the US Department of Energy
Alarms blared as a man, dressed in a lab coat ran. Ran as fast as he could, down a long metal hallway. Bright lights were lined the walls and were quickly flashing, likely ,making the strange, eerie buzzing sound that filled the space. He was panting heavily, sweat dripping down his forehead, swiftly turning corners, clearly running away from something.
He eventually reached an elevator door, and started repeatedly pressing at the button, desperately trying to open it, while quickly glancing back behind him. Suddenly a loud banging noise filled the room, seeming coming from nowhere. The man began to shake but continued to hastily press the button; the time it was taking to open feeling like an eternity. Finally, with a shrill ding of the elevator, the doors slowly slid open, and the man, who at this point was absolutely terrified, ducked under and quickly went in. Quick to press the button once again, the door took its time closing. A repeated banging noise could be heard from afar. It was getting closer.
And closer. And closer. And-
The doors shut.
Safety at last.
He heard a sort-of-growling-noise started coming from above. He looked up.
He didn't even get to finish screaming.
