Project get Dramione back together was ready and set in motion with Blaise Zabini, Ginny Weasley, Harry Potter, Theodore Nott, Pansy Parkinson, and Neville Longbottom ready to set their friends back together. Hermione Granger and Draco had been a couple since the beginning of their eighth year at Hogwarts but then they had spilt up pretty quickly after leaving the school because of their constant petty and pathetic arguments between the two of them. It was annoying for everyone around them. Their group of friends had just about enough of their constant complaining about missing the other person. Which was how Project Dramione had started. The group had now forced Hermione and Draco to come along for a road trip to the beaches of Cornwall for a well-needed holiday and a break away from the city. And, of course, Hermione and Draco had suspicions about what their friends were doing, but that couldn’t be helped when they both shared the same friendship group. However, Draco and Hermione decided to go along with their friend’s stupid little holiday plan anyway.
So, now all of them were piling into Neville’s rented green and white 1964 VW Volkswagen classic camper van before starting to travel out of London. It was a tight squeeze but they had purposely done this to push Hermione and Draco back together, but they were sitting apart from each other with Theodore sitting between them. They wanted them back together but they couldn’t make it obvious even though it was so obvious what the friendship group was trying to do.
The journey from London to Cornwall was long, almost five hours long, and so Hermione had come prepared. Hermione had bought along her book that she was about halfway into and had another book in her bag just in case with another in her actual suitcase for the trip. Hermione always came prepared. Draco, however, was as anxious as he could be. The group had never seen him like this before and it was putting everyone on edge. Theo and Pansy just wanted to scream at Draco to sort things out with Hermione but they knew deep down that wouldn’t really help things.
Music was blasting on the radio and Neville and Pansy were singing together in the front seats. Theo was fast asleep, his head resting on Draco’s shoulder and snoring loudly in the blond’s ear. Hermione was deep into her book, ignoring the world around her while Harry and Ginny were both destined to piss everyone off in the camper van, and occasionally was joining in with the singing that Pansy and Neville were doing at the front of the vehicle. Draco kept glancing over at Hermione, sighing heavily, hoping that no one noticed when he took his glances towards his ex. He missed her but he didn’t want to vocalise how much he missed her. Even though, it was very obvious how much Draco missed Hermione.
Throughout the journey, Hermione tried to keep herself distracted in her book but that wasn’t working when constantly a mobile phone was passed around and her friends were taking selfies so they could remember this road trip for the rest of their lives. Every time that a phone was held up, it was almost as if Theodore could sense the presence of the camera and instantly woke up to be present in the photographs. But, once the photo had been taken, Theo would fall back to sleep again.
And then, even when they weren’t taking selfies and messing about, they were battling their mischief to be able to force Hermione and Draco back together. Whether it was forcing them to cuddle together in the back of the camper van. Or forcing them to sit back together after a quick toilet break at the nearest motorway service station. But, once, they had arrived at their large Air BnB, everyone piled in towards their rooms, already knowing that Hermione and Draco were going to be forced to share a room because they weren’t able to change the room arrangements. The plan was ready to be done. Project get Dramione back together was ready and starting to wheel into motion. They were ready to get Hermione and Draco back together so that the complaining would stop. The pair of them just needed a push.
Blaise robbed Hermione and Draco of their wands before making sure that the spells were up around their shared bedroom, where there was only one bed waiting for them. The two of them had been unaware of what was happening as they stalked into their bedroom but as the door slammed loudly behind them, it dawned on them what was happening. They had been tricked, forced to room together. Hermione instantly tried to shake the door, trying to get out of the room but realised quickly that they were stuck in this room with each other.
“Granger, it’s not worth it. We’re locked in.” Draco sighed, rubbing his face and throwing himself onto the bed. He was staring at the wall, sighing heavily as he clocked Hermione still trying to rip open the bedroom door. “And don’t even bother trying magic, they’ve taken our wands and we can’t use wandless. We are stuck. This has to be one of Theo or Pansy’s tricks to get us back together again even though we have told them that we don’t want to be back together.” Draco chuckled, shaking his head as he laid back and stared up at the bedroom ceiling.
“Then let’s trick them into thinking that we are back together.” Hermione stalked over to the bed and laid down next to Draco.
“You are smart enough to know that won’t work, Granger.” Draco glanced over at her, smiling lightly before staring back up at the ceiling. “We may as well admit the truth to each other, Hermione. I have missed you. I have missed you so much and I’ll confess that I have been complaining to others about how much I have missed you. Hermione, we shouldn’t have been fighting with each other. The arguments were pathetic and I fucking miss you. Hermione, you must be feeling the same thing.” Draco suddenly sat up and stared at Hermione’s face, he hated that tears were prickling the corners of his eyes as he glanced at her.
“I’ve missed you too,” Hermione mumbled and the confession rang around in the air. Was that all they had needed? The two of them were locked together in a room so that they could confess to each other that they missed the other person. Hermione had been a mess when they originally broke up and she basically instantly regretted the argument and wanted to crawl back to him. Hermione stared back at him, still laying down. “Can we fix things?” Hermione mumbled the question, blinking at Draco.
“Screw fixing things!” Draco proclaimed as he lunged forward and roughly kissed Hermione, wrapping his arms around her body and hugging her closer towards his body. “I have missed you so, so, so fucking much!” Draco stated between the kisses that he was pushing against Hermione’s lips.
